Aleister Crowley > Scarlet Women
Roddie Minor aka the camel
christibrany:
Are there any extant photos or paintings of Roddie Minor aka The Camel?
Its very interesting to see The Ape, Leah Hirsig, Virakam, Mary Sturges/Desti, in photo but it would be nice to see one of the other important women in his life. Shes defnitely not minor, Minor!
Any ideas?
thanks ^_^
while im asking any of The Cat Jeanne Foster or The Dog Anne Miller would also be interesting. i can't find any online.

--- Quote from: "christibrany" ---while im asking any of The Cat Jeanne Foster
--- End quote ---
It was love at first sight; Crowley wrote that “I saw my idea incarnate…I really loved her with a love more exalted than aught in all my experience.” She kept him waiting a month before consummating the liaison, probably something of a record for Crowley, who wrote in his Confessions: “I endured the torture of absence, of doubt, of despair, with all the might of my manhood.”
…They parted in California; on Crowley’s return to New York he learned that she dropped him. He felt the loss acutely. He had been certain she had conceived his child, later writing that “I did not know that I was attempting a physical impossibility.”
Crowley regained his emotional equilibrium, dismissing the affair as an illusion, and Jeanne Foster as deceitful. He decided that she had “failed from respectability” in her role as Scarlet Woman. But five years later he would write: “I have not been in love since 1915…Did she really break my heart?”

OKontrair:
I don't know of any picture of Roddie Minor but there's another picture of Hilarion in the galleries (Personalities) and the oto.se picture was swiped from there. She was an artist's model and is the subject of a biography called Dear Yeats, Dear Ford, Dear Pound (maybe not in that order) which is pictured in the Bibliographica Thelemica. Plenty of pictures in that book; one, if I remember rightly, unclad.
OK

*obnoxious whistle*
i can see why she was an artist' model.
