Random Quote

It sometimes strikes me that the whole of science is a piece of impudence; that nature can afford to ignore our impertinent interference. If our monkey mischief should ever reach the point of blowing up the earth by decomposing an atom, and even annihilated the sun himself, I cannot really suppose that the universe would turn a hair.

Aleister Crowley: The Beast 666 a film by Donna Zuckerbrot is now available on DVD from Reel Time Images www.reeltimeimages.ca

This documentary aired on VisionTV and Space in Canada as part of the Enigma series and will be broadcast on HDNet in the US in the Fall.

This is an introduction to Aleister Crowley for a general audience. Lon Milo DuQuette helps illuminate some of the basic ideas of ceremonial magick as well as sharing how his life has been transformed by Aleister Crowley's influence. Interviews with Richard Kaczynski and Marco Pasi give us further insight into Crowley's work and the basics of Thelemic magick.

While Crowley is undoubtedly a complex figure with complex beliefs, this film attempts to understand him on his own terms and transmit the essential ideas in a clear and accessible manner.

93!

As I said in the forum my copy arrived a few weeks ago and I must say I liked it. It was well produced and I thought it a good idea to approach Crowley through the short biography of Lon Milo Duquette (I could not remember his Hippie roots). You can see that earnest researchers helped producing it and it might be a good starter for total beginners, at least a colleague here found it interesting. It is also quite humourous at times, which is a good thing I think. And, maybe important to some, no lecturing on Thelema involved, just a short biopic. Recommended.

I also purchased the Aleister Crowley documentary and agree with everything Lutz said. I doubt it would teach anyone who frequents these forums anything but it's still quite interesting and Mr DuQuette is charming. His songs are fantastic, clever and highly entertaining. I also bought the one on Hypnosis and Jack Parson, both we're just as good. Delivery was quick and everything arrived well packaged etc. I sound like ebay feedback now, :), but I just thought I'd toss my recommendation into the mix too.

My Best,
Kym
