Random Quote

The central question for our time is not how you worship God, or even whether you worship God. It's whether you believe in this life you can be in possession of the absolute truth and you have the right to impose it on others - and therefore whether your differences are more important than our common humanity. That's the values crisis.

The Incoming of the Aeon of Maat: Correspondence between Frater Achad and Gerald Yorke in 1948

Lecture of Thursday 8th April at Treadwells Books
entry £7, starts 7.15pm for 7.30pm, please book in advance
34 Tavistock Street, London WC2E 7PB

Early in 1948, in the wake of Crowley’s death, his long-term friend and colleague Gerald Yorke wrote to Charles Stansfeld Jones (Frater Achad), at one time Crowley’s collaborator and Magical Son. What followed was an extended and substantial correspondence dealing with relations between Crowley and Achad, interpretations of the Book of the Law, and various other aspects of Crowley’s life and work. In the course of it, Achad also documented what he considered to be the incoming of the Aeon of Truth and Justice in April 1948, an event foreshadowed in Achad’s published work of the early 1920s.

Referred to in Kenneth Grant’s monumental book Outside the Circles of Time as ‘Official and Unofficial Correspondence Concerning the Incoming of the Aeon of Maat’, these letters are now being prepared for publication by Starfire Publishing in the Summer of 2010. In this talk, Michael Staley gives the background to the correspondence and outlines some of the issues dealt with in the course of the exchanges. He also gives an account of what Achad meant by the incoming of the Aeon of Truth and Justice, how this relates to the concept of a succession of aeons, and its relationship to the Aeon of Horus.

This looks interesting. I may have to book a plane ticket for this one.

I really wish people would start producing digital recordings of these lectures so I could at least watch them. I mean consider that you could order DVD's or even download them. Another possibility could be to have E-lectures as well, using a platform such as Skype, that people paid to attend. Hey, I'd buy an E ticket or a digital recording.
