Mankind can live free in a society hemmed in by laws, but we have yet to find a historical example of mankind living free in lawless anarchy.

At the Mountains of Madness is one of my favourite HPL stories, so I hope they do a good job. Anyone remember the dreadful Herbert West: Reanimator? I know it was supposed to be comedy, but all the same . . .

I particularly love the longer Lovecraft stories. My very favourite is The Dreams in the Witch House, and it often comes to mind when trying to tease out the meaning of the profusion of lines and angles at the core of some of the magical stellae by Spare, as well as his fantastic drawing 'Man is a Bundle of Ids' (reproduced as frontispiece to The Ninth Arch by Kenneth Grant). I'd also love to see The Case of Charles Dexter Ward done well as a film version. I never saw Beyond the Wall of Sleep, but again that is one of my favourite Lovecraft stories and so I'll try to track the film down.

Lurker Films are distributing movies on DVD shown at the 'H.P. Lovecraft film festival'.
I especially enjoyed the third volume in the collection, 'Out of Mind'. Although the movie is low-budget, Christopher Heyerdahl does a more than brilliant acting job in portraying H.P. When the film opens you actually think for a moment that some long lost film footage has been found of Lovecraft. Beside 'Out of Mind' there is also a great adaptation of 'The Music of Erich Zann' on the same DVD.
Also do not forget to look in their store (Arkham Bazaar), especially the audio version of 'At the mountains of madness' is a delight to listen to. The CD is Packaged with expedition photos, newspaper clippings and other props.
