Post subject: Spare page on Ebay
Hello Spare buffs
I'm a bit intrigued by the Spare "print" (so-called) currently on Ebay - no. 370032313614
It looks to me like a page from the 1972 Automatic Drawings published by Catalpa, but I don't have a copy of that to check. Can anyone confirm?
It occurred to me that, if that's the case, I can take an illustration out of any 1970s Salvador Dali book and have myself a "vintage Dali print", or perhaps flog it on Ebay. Any comments?
Any of you chaps bidding on this item?

I've just checked my copy, and yes it is from the Catelpa book.
A bit embarrassing, this, because only a few days ago someone asked me this in an email, and I answered with a confidence at once admirable, quasi-knowledgeable but now clearly reckless, that it wasn't from there . . .
Spare buff? More like Spare bluff, clearly.
Fortunately the young man took my pronouncement with the authority of the Delphic Oracle . . .

Golly, I hope he's not the guy who's booted it up to £56...
Thank you for that Mr S, that was extremely helpful - I think I probably won't be bidding. But I now find myself with an embarassment of "vintage prints" by more artists than you could shake a stick at, including a couple by the great Leonardo, Mike Angelo, et alia et alia.
Looking forward to a very cosy retirement.
