Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

This June, I plan to visit France, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark and Norway. My top priority for the trip is to meet other occultists and Thelemites. In particular I'd love to see any good occult bookstores in these places, and I'd really love to meet anyone who is a creator or collector of occult or esoteric art. I'm a little clueless where to begin looking other than to try the lazyweb.

So, any pointers would be appreciated, especially if you happen to live in one of the countries listed or would like to meet up there! I imagine some of you might be going to the exhibits in Paris?

The American bookshop in Amsterdam is well worth a browse, healthy occult section on the top floor, but if your from America it might be a bit mundane.

The American Book Center has nothing a Borders or Barnes and Nobel would not have in Portland. It is where I go if I need an American book, but for the most part it is pretty basic stuff. In fact, the Netherlands lacks a good occult bookstore.

If you are interested in crop circles, neo-shamanism, etc. Frontier Books isn't far from the Ritman Library. It is about 4 blocks, just across Prinsengracht. They produce the Atlantis Rising magazine. http://www.frontierbookshop.nl/whois_en.html

Also, if you are going to the Ritman, make sure you email ahead of time and get an appointment approved. They are less than happy to have people show up unannounced. Also, make sure you give yourself time. They have a great Boehme exhibit going on right now.

Lastly, the bookshop I like best is Kirchner. They have titles about religion and philosophy in both English and Dutch. Small store but packed with New books. I can never leave it without finding something great. It is two blocks from Frontier.

I will be at the Palais de Tokyo opening. Also going to check out Throbbing Gristle and Nick Cave while in Paris. Patti Smith has a photo exhibit there too at the same time. Exciting!
