Post subject: Kenneth Grant collection for sale (and query of appraisal)
Hello,
I offer my Kenneth Grant collection up for sale, & will take bids for singular works or the entirety via Private Message. I am also looking for honest feedback as to their general appraisal value.
They are all in Fine condition, like new, all of course with some rubbing apparent on their slick covers. A few of the covers have 1 or 2 1/8" tears. There are no markings in any of them. The pages are still all quite white, but with some natural faint yellowing apparent.
Following is what I own, & from what on the Internet I have guessed their value to be:
Aleister Crowley & the Hidden God (1992) ~$125.
Cults of the Shadow (1994) ~$200.
Hecate's Fountain (1992) ~$300.
Nightside of Eden (1994) ~$200.
Outer Gateways (1994) ~$40.
Of special note is that I own Against the Light (1997, Anno 93), #47 of 50 copies, signed & numbered by Keneth Grant & Steffi Grant, with the "compliments from Starfire" sheet of paper still in it. It is an amazingly magickal talisman, & a fine work of art (not to mention a great read). I think it all came together in this one, & was magickally released in Anno 93. I see normally it is ~$100, but was wondering the limited edition's value. I'm not sure I should even sell it, as the kalas emanating therefrom are very nice.
*Note these would ship from the U.S., & I would need to be paid up front via Paypal first.
Thanks all.

Thanks for the complimentary remarks re Against the Light. It was the first book (as distinct from Starfire itself) that we did, and it's still probably my personal favourite. I'd hang onto it if I were you; it (the deluxe) doesn't come onto the market very often. Then again, I'm biased.
Best wishes,
Michael.

Fourarmored,
Though I am very tempted to try and add your limited edition of Against the Light to my own library, I fear you might regret selling it down the line. If there are positive kalas being felt by you, it seems evident that the spirit behind that book is still connected to you. I agree with Michael that you should keep it, for its inherent talismanic value if nothing else.
Just my humble opinion on the matter...

Mine also so I'll second Frater I's sentiments, especially as you're copy is signed! I know need can cause us to part with things we'd rather hang onto but I hope you can make a good go of it with the general collection and hang onto this one. It's a brilliant, brilliant book which reads "new" every time!

Kyle

I agree. I sold my deluxe 'BtMZ' during a period of extreme financial distress, it was a real wrench to let it go and I've bitterly regretted it ever since....

I'd like to second Kyle's reamrks about this book reading "new" every time. I gain a deeper Understanding with every read. If I had the deluxe, I would never sell, of course I'll never sell my standard. I Will be getting a deluxe of "Monolith" thats for sure!
