She didn't write a book "on" the Golden Dawn - that's just its title, presumably a reference to mornings spent on the ranch:
"An American boy, Hank, an Easterner with ties in Africa, matures as he spends time with a horse on a Western ranch."
But your "research" on the web would have shown that in little more than the time it takes to type amazon.com
