93, all!
Sorry in advance for the rather long post but since there are so many incredible AC books out there at the moment, I have to raise some money and get rid of some doubles from my collection. I ship worldwide and will always use the cheapest but safest method of shipping. Preferred payment is Paypal, but bank transfer and well hidden cash is also an option. For any questions please use PM or this thread. I will try to upload some pics, but the books gallery is closed and maybe they can stay a while in Miscellenea? If not, I understand and pics can be sent by mail. Well, let's get started.
A handwritten note from Aleister Crowley, not dated ( only „die Mars“) but probably 1937 (my guess, since there were some other notes and letters written from the Langham Hotel – or on Langham Hotel stationary – and these were all from 1937). Signed with his full name. Written on thick London Langham Hotel stationary paper. 30 words. Unfortunately I cannot decipher the adressant. It goes: „die Mars (as symbol) Dear [...] Hope you got my message at the Gambit[?]. I was much too ill to come. Ring me here at 11 o’clock to-morrow, + we’ll see about Jupiter (as symbol). Yours Aleister Crowley“ Not of huge Thelemic or magical importance, but perfect for talismanic purposes as well as interesting for collecting, since like most AC stuff his letters and handwritten notes steadily rise in price. This one can be yours for 555 Euros. Please see http://www.lashtal.com/gallery/displayi ... p?pos=-929
Aleister Crowley, The Stratagem, & Other Stories, Mandrake Press nd 1st Ed (c1930) Small format 139pp, Also has the Testament of Magdalen Blair, His Secret Sin. Quarter cloth binding with boards covered in snakeskin like paper and a paper label on spine. Overall in Very Good condition in a facsimile of the dustwrapper, but a really astonishingly convincing facsimile. The dustwrapper is important as it carries an plan relevant to the Stratagem story. Your chance to own a real Aleister Crowley first edition for a really low price of 188 Euros. Please see: http://www.lashtal.com/nuke/module-pnMe ... -202.phtml
CROWLEY, Aleister: The Star & the Garter (The Star and the Garter). Popular Edition Hardcover. Quarto. 80pp. Original green/black 'camel-hair' wrappers with white lettering on upper wrapper, rebound in modern black binder's cloth, with gilt title down spine. Crowley felt that The Star & the Garter "contained some of my best lyrics" and was also
"important in marking a new step in my poetic path [for] I had mastered form better than I had ever done before" It was first published by Watts and Co. in 1903 in an edition of only 52 copies. Crowley published this "Popular Edition" the following year "with the idea of reaching the people who might have been unable to buy my more expensive books." Though much favoured by Crowley, the "camel hair" (actually a soft paper compound) binding material was not at all durable, and copies often lost their spines and/or wrappers. In this case the original wrappers were retained, and the whole put in a rather cheap, modern cloth binding, Both wrappers and text block have been trimmed at the edges to facilitate the rebind. The cloth itself has is somewhat marked on the front board, almost as if a large label had been pasted there and removed. As noted above, the text-block and wrappers have been cropped, and there is some scattered light foxing and a couple of pencil marks in the margins. Otherwise it is in VG condition. I was just about starting to rebind it to ist original state when another copy crossed my way, so this one is for sale now. My price: 288 Euros. Please see: http://www.lashtal.com/nuke/module-pnMe ... -268.phtml and for the rebind http://www.lashtal.com/gallery/displayi ... p?pos=-934
MERLIN – Archive of investigative and practical Occultism, borderline sciences, divination and esoteric traditions. Axel Springer Verlag, Hamburg, 1949. 3 issues, such complete. One of the first substantial biographic articles on Aleister Crowley by Friedrich Levke titled 'The Magician Aleister Crowley (Master Therion)' with the message that "The Master is dead. Long live the Thelemic Law, long live the Order of Thelemites," [29] that is, those who were openly interested in Thelema. This 'Order of Thelemites', was not the same from Crowley, which was a hybrid of the O.T.O. and A.'.A.'., and had been set up under the leadership of James Thomas Windram "Frater Semper Paratus, Frater Mercurius" the X° for South Africa, who had died in 1939. Levke proclaimed himself Crowley’s representative in Germany but AC never took him really seriously (imho). The three volumes are in good conditions, except that someone strengthened the spines not very elegantly. My price for all three: 66 Euros. Please see: http://www.lashtal.com/gallery/displayi ... p?pos=-931
Liber Niger Legionis, The Grimoire of Pharaon, Octavia Press, Hardback 162pp Hand Sigilised personalized copy of the second edition 2005. Number 48 of the numbered limited second edition of 72 copies. This copy has the author’s sigil and signature, hand drawn (like all copies in this limited edition). In addition it also has a special sigil individually drawn: the elaborate invocatory seal is appended by the caption, ‘Our Name is Legion, for we are Many’. Intelligent text drawing upon the work of Austin Osman Spare, Kenneth Grant and Andrew Chumbley to ennunciate system an original system of Gnostic sorcery. It eschews traditional esoteric cosmolgy that describes the Supernal or Divine that is in oppostion to the Infernal. Instead it regards all that can be described or conceived as hostile or diabolical and any attempt to describe that which is not is seen as inherently illusory. Thw response to this insight is the Black Gnosis where the Infernal sorcerer brings realises the transience of his or her own identity and perceives the infernal nature of reality by identifying and calling forth the currents that underly it, recognising their sentience and power. Thus the Infernal Sorcerer becomes a mirror for that which is beyond and true Gnosis may be glimpsed. As the author draws upon the entire magickal tradition the Daemons summoned are tradtional however, it is their relevance to this coherent system of Gnostic Socery and our modern culture that is emphasised. The author is independent and original. Though the work of the Infernal Socery is explicity referred to as Cainite and explores the mysteries of Cain and clearly relates to the work of Andrew Chumbley the author does not membership of the Cultus Sabbatai. After describing differnet aspects and of this system of Gnosis and magical practice 36 Daimons are listed. The nature of each, their meaning and relevance to the systems is described and their sigil given. The binding is glued hardback with black silk place ribbon and the boards are covered in black paper which has an aethetically pleasing texture. Decorated endpapers. On the front board the paper is cut away to reveal a shining red star shining below. It is worth considering just how few new grimoire have been produced in the last 100 years. Many, many books about occultism, but so few occult books! This work is a signiifican contribution ot this very small corpus. That it is a new manifestation of the current worked by Spare, Grant, Chumbley, Schulke, MacBeth makes it of particular interest. I would note that two thirds of the print run of this have all ready sold by word of mouth. Despite the modest production values a highly soughtafter book. My price: 222 Euros. Please see http://www.lashtal.com/gallery/displayi ... p?pos=-930
Aleister Crowley: AHA! # AHA! And THE HERB DANGEROUS (PART III) THE POEM OF HASHISH. BY CHARLES BAUDELAIRE (Translated by ALEISTER CROWLEY). 1st Edition 1910. In fact these are the original pages from the the Equinox Volume I No.3 from Spring Equinox 1910. They have been press-bound together in a black folder with a not very elegant paper front label (see picture). Probably these are saved pages from an otherwise destroyed Equinox volume (I can see no other reason to tear pages out!). So it has a 1st edition feel to it (if you never experienced the softness and thickness of the original Equinox paper). My price: 55 Euros. Please see http://www.lashtal.com/gallery/displayi ... p?pos=-927
Tau Apiryon & Soror Helena, Red Flame II; Mystery of Mystery, A Primer of Thelemic Ecclesiastical Gnosticism, A Thelemic Research Journal, 2001 viii + 224pp Paperback Authors both bishops of the Gnostic Catholic Church and one is Xth degree OTO (Caliphate). Provides an excellent history of the Gnostic Catholic Church and an impressive exploration of the Gnostic Mass, analysing the Greek words and presenting what is known of the Gnostic saints. Very impressive work. Condition as new. My price: 33 Euros. Picture will be uploaded.
C.F. Russell: Znuz is Znees – Memoirs of a Magician (Vol.I), Published by the Author 1969, Large format hardback 11ins x 9ins vi + 77pp Diagrams. Rather than presenting a chronological description of the author's life each chapter describes a category of life experience. After the prologue the author shares his distrust of doctors, gives a detailed bibliography of his publications, provides scatological anecdote and gives some account of his education. Another describes sexual experience. He also describes his first encounters with Crowley and how he was initiated into the IIIrd degree OTO. Much of the book is given over to geometrical exploration utilising the authors unique system of symbolism with the intent that traditional Euclidian geometry is transformed to manifest Infinity upon the page. Very sight and unobtrusive marks to paper covering the boards, generally very fine. This one was recently sold for about 400 Euros. My price: 299 Euros. Please see http://www.lashtal.com/gallery/displayi ... p?pos=-938

Well, that's it for today. I hope this doesn't inflict with the spirit of this site. If it is simply too much, I can make a short summary list and the rest will take place via PM.

The images are in the Books Gallery.
Your post is entirely within the spirit of the site - feel free to use the Forums entirely as you see fit. You are well-known within Crowley connecting circles and on this site -- I'm honoured that you chose to sell such interesting items through here rather than taking the eBay approach...

I think the surname is Starr. I doubt it would be Meredith Starr but I recall someone else with the same surname. I can't remember his christian name, A something I believe. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
If it is the same chap then Israel Regardie knew him and called him Aloysius Comet in the 'Eye of the Triangle'- After Aloysius admitted to Crowley he'd contracted venereal disease, not the best idea, Crowley kept refering to him as 'Badcock'! |

93!
Hey, thanks for the input. Too bad, AC did not address the note to "Badcock". This would have made it worthier...
Just wanted to say that I also have a copy of Classic Rock Magazine on Lucifer Rising for sale, including the CD. See: http://www.lashtal.com/nuke/Article754.phtml
Also, next week I will list some old Man, Myth & Magic magazines with Kenneth Grant articles in it. So please save your money and keep checking in.
