Random Quote

The common defect of all mystical systems previous to that of the Aeon whose Law is Thelema is that there has been no place for Laughter. But the sadness of the mournful Mother and the melancholy of the dying Man are swept in the limbo of the past by the confident smile of the immortal Child. And there is no Vision more critical in the career of the Adept of Horus than the Universal Joke.

You seriously need a new theme and header.
All this white is hurty on the eyes.

Razz

my suggestion: black, black, and black.

93 all.

Thanks for the suggestion. The site is being re-developed but there are currently no plans to make it "black, black, and black".

What do other Members think?

93,

I think the material on the Site is what makes it the wonderful resource that it is. As long as it's organized (it is organized now), I really don't care how it looks.

I think the site is rather readable as is. There are some bright spots here and there where maybe the white could be toned down just a little.

I think the site is clean, aesthetic, concise, and extremely practical. I see no reason to change anything about the layout.

93!

Yes, please no "dark" layout! I don't want to just "view" the site, I want to read it, read it for hours sometimes. It is perfectly convenient like it is. Also I think it "looks good"!

Yeah, green text on black background has nostalgic value, but after circa 1995, I've preferred black text on white background.

I agree with many of the above. I find the site perfectly readable as it is.

One of the things I love about this place is the lack of the oh so "Dark and Sinister" angle. It seems to be some kind of well guarded secret that Thelema does not have to equal Twisted Evil. Too much dark on a page makes me sleepy and that last thing one needs is to fall asleep while trying to read posts online. Keyboard indentations on your forehead are a bitch to explain.

I agree with those who say leave things as they are. The "black, black, black" suggestion is a ridiculous idea.

This site is perfectly alright as it is, let's keep it that way.

Leave it as it is. It is the content that counts, not the bling-bling. The guys at phpBB had probably a reason to chose those colors as default; messages are easy to read, and the frames don't overpower the content. Why make a honky tonk or a witches coven out of it?

And if you have a Mac, you can go to "System Preferences" => "Universal Access" and choose "Display: White on Black". There's Lashtal with more black! It looks interesting, but unfortunately one can't make any screenshots of it.

There are theme choosers for PostNuke... I was just saying it's nice to have a variety, that and reading on this site for hours has a tendency to make my eyes go buggy. I think this should be a good enough testament to what a valuable resource this site is.

Thanks for the input everyone. Smile I'll crawl back to my ivory tower and shut the hell up now.

It's clean and organize, it would be interesting to use other colors though, but too much black and it would be ruined, because then it would seem as if thelema was something dark, and to be honest I don't see it that way, the complete opposite actually. Although I share your pain enki_carbone, my eyes are hurting, it is blinding. Maybe I'm a bat, but the constant white and light are killing me.
