Hi I'm Alysa and I'm a regular reader of Lashtal.com for some years and I only recently decided to become a member of Lashtal.com. I like this site enormously, and I'm a regular visitor. I'm in my mid thirties, and I'm interested in AC for now more than 20 years. I'm still not very much aquainted whit the Internet so you will not see posts or replies from me that easely. I'm am living in Belgium, and my native language is Dutch, I meant ofcourse Flamish. I'm trying to read AC, and people or items that are related to him but I'm a very slow reader (because I want to understand every word or term,in his works, certainly when I'm an occult reader. I'm also thinking sometimes that AC should have more follewers if the languages in his writings weren't so much difficult, but tha again I'm thinking that AC, wanted it that way.

Yes, welcome to Lashtal, Alysa. Like Kyle, I hope you start to contribute to the many interesting threads here sooner rather than later - but obviously, when you feel ready.

I find Crowley's writing style very succinct given the subjects he was writing about, given that he was trying to convey magical and mystical experience. Difficult though it must be, it's worth persevering with. I regard Crowley as one of the finest writers of the English language.

Best wishes,

Michael.

hi Alysa- you would gain a great deal of useful material by finding the many French translations of Crowley's works that have been published by Philippe Pissier, who's enormous service to French-speaking occultists has been sadly under-applauded, and i would think that these works would be easier to read for a native Flemish speaker than the English versions
