[...] when I say magical I don't mean illusions, I mean magic in the sense of Crowley magick. I have been meeting and having very informative exchanges with practising magicians in this country and in America. I treat the occult very seriously, in fact more and more seriously, and have found great insight into what I do from these people.

Wonderful work from one of LAShTAL.COM's members: Thiebes has posted a video on YouTube that I strongly recommend visitors here take a look at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVAVfLDDr0U

It's a 10-minute "display of the works by Crowley at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, along with a rough translation of the exhibit commentary by our friend in Paris, "Marogan."

93!

Thanks a lot, that's fantastic. Seems like the exhibition is really worth seeing, and hearing! Also good to see that they don't seem to be too strict about taking pictures.

At a first glance I would say that his "non-mystic" and "non-portrait" paintings, i.e. the landscapes, are not quite as stunning as his other works.

A couple of the landscapes were really good - in particular the black & white one and the oval-shaped one were quite good. The latter was reminiscent of Van Gogh and I found out later is a depiction of the mountains near Cefalu.

I've always loved Crowley's art, and I've always felt his painting would gain more acceptance and esteem in the cultural world than his poetry. For an untrained painter, he's pretty darn good, and he has a great sense of colour, drama and composition.
