I'm off to Cefalu in September, partly to celebrate a significant 'lesser feast' and to take a well-earned break.
Any suggestions, hints, tips or useful contacts from seasoned Cefalu hands?

I would suggest the following:-
1. Visit to the Abbey of Thelema
2. Visit to cemetery - where Frater Aud was laid to rest, before being brought back to the London in December 1923.
3. A walk up La Roca - best when sunny. Some fantastic views over the town, and a birds eye view of the Abbey
4. Cathedral in Cefalu - lovely mosaics
5. Visit to Cattedrale di Gibilmanna - bit of a hike, but lovely countryside. Just don't drink any water from the streams/springs on the way...... |

| Close reminder of what A.C. to Raoul Loveday said, this reminder is worth noting to every Thelemite Who's visiting the place there, and not only to Thelemites ofcourse, Thanks for that Michaelclarke |

Thank you both,
Note to self; remember to avoid cat's blood and water. Suppose that just leaves alcohol!

| I'm really surprised at the limited advice on this thread.....perhaps a visit to the Abbey of Thelema sadly isn't a high priority for most Thelemites. |

One thing you should definitely take - which I also found really useful in locating the Abbey - is RT Coles invaluable and well researched book, Thelema Revisited. It will give you a great understanding of the abbey, it's history, why it currently looks the way it does and an explanation of the frescos in the chamber of nightmares.
I don't have a link, but a search on google will find it. |

Michael,
Thank you for taking the time and trouble.
I have got hold of Cole's book - definately an indispensable guide to my wanderings. |
