It sometimes strikes me that the whole of science is a piece of impudence; that nature can afford to ignore our impertinent interference. If our monkey mischief should ever reach the point of blowing up the earth by decomposing an atom, and even annihilated the sun himself, I cannot really suppose that the universe would turn a hair.

Is there any reference to Crowley using/imbibing normal blood in praxis has an alternative to Vama Marg, outside of the use of the Mass of the Phoenix?

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

I am sorry but I have to ask for clarity about the question. I assume you are asking whether Crowley used blood other than semen or menstrual blood (and possibly placental blood) in any right other than the Mass Of The Phoenix. If this is the case and you include animal blood there is of course the famous ritual at Cefalu that used cat blood. If you go so far as to include eggs then many a morning invocation could be assumed possibly too.
I am confused as to the Varma Marg reference though. I feel that Cakes Of Light are neither Left (Varma Marg) or Right (Daksine Marg) Hand Path but actually a sort of compromise between the two. Generally in Right Hand Path Tantra any blood rite would be done in symbolism only. Only with the modernisation of Thelema and Thelemic Tantra and in particular the Gnostic Mass does the Right Hand Path practice openly such blood rites. Left Hand Path rites of this kind are generally more intimate and so there would be no congregation (except close initiates), no clothing of any kind (except perhaps perfume and jewellery) and the cookery part of it may even be forgone in favour of taking it direct from the source.

Having said that I do keep Cakes Of Light dedicated to many different deities. I have done this as work towards the expansion of the Thelemic pantheon. I find some deities prefer some types of blood over others and there may be some that I have not worked with yet that prefer 'normal' as in non-sexual blood over the more usual favourite. I have certainly encountered Hathor and Sekhmet preferring the white form rather than the red shall we say so who is to say that some preffer neither and the general red form is what is best. Interesting question if that is what you meant. If not could you please explain?

Love is the law, love under will.

Don't forget pigeon's blood, with Neuberg, in the desert.
