| What do you think of Manson as an artist and entertainer? I think Manson is brilliant. Manson expreses alot of philosophies and observations in the music I think these philosophies and observations are quite unique. |

Yeah - I looked for them in the world atlas. Dur...

Actually, one could look at Antichrist Superstar as a concept album laying out the development of an initiate from beginning to end. The album has interesting parallels to the A.'.A.'. system in the processes of initiation. One starts out on track 1 as one of the masses, living day to day and then a gnostic experience occurs, making the worm into the Little Horn and feels the call of the HGA, the aches and pains described in Tourniquet followed by the angels invocation in Mister Superstar and its success in Angel with the Scabbed Wings and realization of Christ Consciousness in 1996 and Antichrist Superstar and eventually achieving Mastery/Alienation from the masses in Man That You Fear. This album to me, seems to express the White School of magick as seen by Christianity the fear of non-conformity etc.
Manson has said that the following albums are part of a series of concepts that when analyzed could be seen as insights into the Yellow School on Mechanical Animals (the androgyne etc) and the Black School on Holywood, suppression of the individual (Disposable Teens), sacrifice of the king (king Kill 33) in order to break down the social consciousness etc. Very intriguing concepts when you break them down. Some interlap does occur though, of course, I don't think these two albums are as cohesive thematically as Antichrist Superstar. |

I have a limited edition CD coming out soon called Atavistic Resurgence, it will be available in an edition of 333 copies that feature a splash of my own semen on the cover (the cover image also shows a golden unicursal hexagram). It will be available for purchase at the very reasonable price of £11.93 (via Paypal).
People have often compared me with Marilyn Manson, but Weston-super-Mare is a long way from Los Angeles...
Having said that, if I can start by getting a small dedicated fan base, the type dazzled and obsessed by rudimentary occult imagery, you just never know! |

I have read his book 'Long Hard Road Out Of Hell" twice, & I hope that he updates his story soon. I too have seen his shows & own his albums, & am indeed an admirer of his accomplishments, & a great fan of his music. He is very aware of Crowley, but does not follow him directly, which Crowley would have appreciated. According to his book, a few of the past posters are totally correct : His affilliation is with LaVey. If you read about his childhood, adolescence & early adult-hood, it makes sense that he approached Occult spirituality through an American source & not an English one.
It is not important to him to reference anything of this sort, however. He may do so in his book, but his Lyrics are free of direct quotes - He has paraphrased a few dictums now & again, & referenced Freemasonry on Holywood, but his Art is thankfully free of too many tributes. The greatest is to another 'Alice' - & that is 'Cooper'.
Manson is a Rock & Roller through & through, but it would not altogether suprise me if sometime in his middleage or latter years he released books of Occult spirituallity & philosophy. He seems too absorbed in the Arts, though, to be able to pursue this - & for this reason will be an Artist sometimes associated with A.C., but maybe not ever a student of his schools, or a practitioner of spiritual excercise aside from the obvious Work that takes place within his Art & Performance. |

On the back cover of my copy of Station To Station (on CD, an edition from 1991), Bowie is sitting on the floor drawing a large Tree Of Life. I love that album for Station to Station and Wild Is The Wind.
Bowie was in fact deeply involved in Crowley at one time, hence the line from the "Hunky Dory" LP "....."I'm closer to the Golden Dawn. Immersed in Crowley's uniform Of imagery".
The song is entitled "Quicksand". |

93.
Crowley is quoted in the beginning of a chapter in his biography "Long hard road out of hell". There is also a picture of Crowley in one of his live dvd's, think its called death parade (or something like that).
I have heard _rumors_ that Manson claimed to be an initiate of the O.T.O., although i have not myself seen the quote/interview where he made that statement (maybe someone got more information on this?).
And ofcourse, he calls himself the "third beast".
93 93/93.
