"Cyril Connolly made the most acidly perceptive comment about Crowley, for example, when he described him as the man who bridged the gap between Oscar Wilde and Adolf Hitler."

The January edition of Fortean Times is a Crowley special commemorating 60 years since his death, featuring:

The Life & Times of Crowley: by Phil Baker provides a brief biography of the Beast.

Crowley Lives!: by Dr Dave Evans puts the case for Crowley as a defining modern figure and a pop-culture icon.

Crowley & the Spooks: Richard McNeff reopens the file on the Beast’s dealings with the Secret Service.

The Tregerthen Horror: Paul Newman investigates a mysterious death in Cornwall and asks whether Crowley had a hand in it?

Who Let the Greys In?: by Alan Chapman who wonders whether Crowley was the first alien contactee?

The Wickedest Man in the World?: Gary Lachman accuses Crowley of being genuinely beastly and unleashing a cult of ‘Do What you Like’.

Celluloid Occult: Rebecca Fitzgibbon explores Crowley’s influence on the development of occult film.

Magick Potions: Ian Simmons celebrates one of the Beast’s lesser-known accomplishments – the art of cocktail making.

The Beast and the Broadcaster: Paul Sieveking recounts his father’s occasional encounters with Crowley.

The Last Ritual: Tim Weinberg lays Crowley to rest.

Also includes a travel report to the Abbey at Cefalu.

And it's a very impressive publication! Most of the articles are really exceptional.

The writers involved comprise a substantial selection from the membership of LAShTAL.COM, which is very pleasing.
