What Is LAShTAL.COM?

LAShTAL.COM is a non-commercial and non-partisan website devoted to the legacy of Aleister Crowley and to the impact of Crowley and Thelema on media, news and culture. It is Home of The Aleister Crowley Society.

It is 'non-commercial' to the extent that paid advertising is not and never will be accepted, in order to maintain the site's integrity. Additionally, membership is and always will be free. You will never be asked for payment as part of your membership of the site. The site exists as a result of funding supplied by the Owner & Editor and the kind donations of members.

It is 'non-partisan' in that it is impartial in its reporting of News and other items. The Owner & Editor is not a member of any interest group. This impartiality is a requirement of activity on the site and is rigorously reinforced through strict Moderation.

While many members are interested in 'the occult', 'divination', 'magick', etc., it is important to understand that LAShTAL.COM is not an 'occult' website. Its interests editorially are strictly cultural, biographical, bibliographical and social. However, Thelema is a religious, philosophical, spiritual, and cultural system: the fact that the Owner and Editor of this site is proud to consider himself a devotee of the religion and spiritual practice of Thelema doesn't mean that it should be assumed all - or indeed, any - other members of the site share that view.
