Enochian Art Magical Performance by NOKO

Written by Barry William Hale. Posted in Misc.

NOKO will be performing live at the ASTOR for REVELATION FILM FESTIVAL

For more than a decade Noko have been exploring the links between projected images, experimental music and magic. Comprised of the fine artist Barry William Hale, sonic artist Scott Barnes and video artist Michael Strumm, Noko work in the tradition of magical filmmakers such as Harry Smith and Derek Jarmen, and avant-garde musical groups such as Coil and Clock DVA. Live performances by Noko are rare special events which visually draw on remixing real-time image capture, found footage, visual manipulation and digital animation, while the sound design creates an endlessly shifting sonic palette.

Musick Without Tears

Written by darkflame. Posted in Misc.

I'm happy to announce that the new album by The Green Man, 'Musick Without Tears', is now available. Info from the label:

"After four years, the Green man are back with a full-length album containing 10 songs for the New Aeon: 'Musick Without Tears'. With the distinctive style that has always characterized their sound, The Green Man's compositions are thelemic hymns of magic and ritual, love and despair, with references, among others, to the occult life and works of Aleister Crowley and Kenneth Grant. 'Musick Without Tears' is also enriched by the contribution of many artists of the scene, including Patrick Leagas (DI6, 6Comm), Nicholas Tesluk (Changes), Gianluca Becuzzi (Pankow, Limbo) and Genevieve Pasquier. A dark and entrancing gem, with its alluring blend of emotive ballads and stirring incantations,'Musick Without Tears' is a must for all those interested in the magical, occult side of music."

ABRAXAS: An International Journal of Esoteric Studies

Written by lashtal. Posted in Misc.

Standard Issue Cover
Crowley's poem 'Babalon' published for the first time.

Treadwells and Fulgur are delighted to announce the first issue of our new esoteric journal ABRAXAS is now in press. In keeping with our intent, writers and artists have kindly submitted material from across the globe: Australia, the United States, Mexico, Italy and the United Kingdom are keenly represented.

Nearly all the material is published for the first time. Here may be found inspiring essays from luminaries within the esoteric community, many of them written especially for the journal. Artists too are well represented, both established masters and emerging talents: a feast for the eyes and soul. Our poets include Allyson Shaw, Zachary Cox and, from beyond the veil, Aleister Crowley, whose evocative verse ‘Babalon’ finally finds itself in print more than sixty years after it was written.
