Phoenix Rising Academy of Esoteric Studies and Creative Arts is a new and independent educational initiative seeking to fill what we perceive as a gap in the study of esotericism and occultism. We offer distance learning courses in a wide range of topics, and of particular interest to Lashtal members will be our Origins and History of Thelema, as well as a number of courses on Occultism in Popular Culture, Esoteric Dualism, and much, much more.
Our international faculty is comprised of accomplished professors and scholars of the highest caliber, united by a desire to see education regain its true purpose; namely, to provide knowledge which can have a tangible effect on students’ lives.
Our aim is to provide a flexible and holistic approach to the study of topics in Western Esotericism, Occultism, and the Arts – remaining academic while allowing space for a number of perspectives for which there is little space even in existing academic fora for the study of Western Esotericism, to include the study of experiential aspects of these traditions. We do not teach students to practise, but we offer a solid knowledge base to permit students to develop an informed and broad understanding of the current that interests them in terms of culture, the evolution of spiritual and occult traditions, and the deep and lasting influences they have had on the modern world. Through our online courses you can study at your own pace, from anywhere in the world, and join us for our special retreats and conferences in Greece, birthplace of Western civilization.
Our first registration period for a wide range of online courses within the field of Western Esotericism and the arts begins on October 15th 2010, and our first courses will commence in January 2011.
