Aleister Crowley is the paradigm, up there on the Ridge in his melancholy boarding house, ignoring the view, letting visitors suck Brown Windsor soup while he excuses himself to shoot up in the bathroom. The landlord left playful notices in the rooms. “Guests are requested not to cut down bodies from the trees.”
