I’ve just been listening to the “bonus” album – For Gillan Fans Only – that was released by Virgin in 1980 with Ian Gillan’s Glory Road album…
As many of you will know, Ian Gillan, Deep Purple vocalist, included on the bonus album a rather haunting track: Abbey Of Thelema.
I suspect this track must be unique amongst Thelemically-inspired works, in that it is written about Cefalu from the perspective of Leah Hirsig.
This got me to thinking about Crowley’s lyrical prominence in rock music…
