Treadwells Bookshop, London, announces:

JOHN DEE’S ANGELIC MAGIC: PRACTICAL INTERPRETATION

Mr Alan Thorogood and Mr Robin Cousins
7 April (Thursday) 7.30 pm

This Elizabethan magus left a corpus of material for the working of spiritual and operative magic; its non-instructive and fragmentary nature means that those who wish to revive it must compose their own method. In modern times, the Golden Dawn was one such system.

Others, including Robert Turner’s Order of the Cubic Stone, work directly from Dee’s documents. Such practitioners tend to reticence, but this evening two come forth.

Robin Cousins and Alan Thorogood introduce the primary sources and elaborate how each of them has evolved a personal working style.

Both have been working Dee’s magic for over two decades.
