The Occult World of Jack Parsons
by John Carter
Introduction by Robert Anton Wilson
REVISED EDITION (Available October 2003)
John Whiteside “Jack”Parsons played several different roles in his tormented, glorious and abbreviated life. By day, Parsons’ unorthodox genius created rocket fuel that helped the Allies win the war and NASA get to the moon. The Aerojet Corporation, founded by Parsons, still produces his solid-fuel rocket boosters for the Space Shuttle. A crater on the dark side of the Moon was named after him. By night, in his Pasadena mansion, the dark, handsome Parsons practiced black magick and hosted soirees for science fiction writers like Robert Heinlein, Jack Williamson, Anthony Boucher, Ray Bradbury and L. Ron Hubbard (of Scientology fame), who played a mysterious role in Parsonís life. Parsons died in a mysterious explosion that has not been explained. Murder? Suicide? Or simply an accident?
