The Blue Equinox Journal – Issue #1

Two chapters cut from Perdurabo: The Life of Aleister Crowley, and presented here for the first time, detail a pair of spectacular court cases involving occultist Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), the self-proclaimed Great Beast 666. These incidents not only reflect contemporary attitudes and misperceptions about Crowley’s magick, but also capture the responses of Crowley and his acquaintances (George Cecil Jones, J. F. C. Fuller, S. L. MacGregor Mathers, Dr. Edward Berridge, Karl Germer and Betty May) in their own words.

In addition to these two “lost chapters,” this book contains Crowley’s The Rosicrucian Scandal, and transcripts of over 50 historic newspaper articles covering the cases described here.

Together, these materials form an essential collection of source material for anyone interested in modern occult movements.
