Betty May – The Musical
Fundraising and “Thank You” Show
Thursday 5th March 2015
Covent Garden
7-9pm
The Atlantis Bookshop is delighted to be able to offer you an opportunity to support the development of Betty May – The Musical and to gain access to an exclusive ‘Thank You’ show which will feature many of the musical creations that will appear in the final, full-blown extravaganza. Some of you may remember at Crowleymass last year we celebrated with Celine Hispiche who has been working tirelessly to bring this project to fruition. This Fundraising effort is part of our broader commitment to assist with this project.
As far as the fundraising is concerned, we are collecting donations of £29 (by way of explaining this rather odd figure, Betty May’s Tiger Woman: My Story was originally published by Duckworth in 1929). As a thank you for supporting this cause, for each donation of £29 we will add you to the guest list of an exclusive “Thank You” show being held in a month’s time in Covent Garden, London.
This is not a ticketed event, tickets cannot be purchased on the door and access to the venue and the exclusive show is only available as a Thank You to kind donors who have contributed to the Fundraising we are organising here at The Atlantis Bookshop. Guests on the night can expect a real treat.
To make your donation, and to get your name on the guest list for this exclusive “Thank you” event, please contact Bali at The Atlantis Bookshop either by phone (020 7405 2120) or just reply to this email.
By way of background, Betty May – The Musical is in the pre-production stage which means that the organisers are ready to workshop the script and 18 original songs with a Director, Actors and Musical arrangements to get to an Industry Showcase enabling the full production and a regional Tour. The donations from you will help towards making this a reality.
Betty May (Golding) was born an impoverished girl in Limehouse, but earned farthings, ha’pennies and pennies by singing for sailors and dockers in the Tidal Basin part of London’s historic Docklands – she now needs your help to get onto the West End Stage!
Thank you in advance for all of your help,
Best wishes
Bali & Geraldine
