On page 47 of the book, In the Center of the Fire, a memoir of the occult
author James Wasserman writes:

" In Boulder, I met an extremely sensitive psychic who claimed to be a granddaughter of Aleister Crowley. As I recall, her grandmother had enjoyed a short romance with Crowley while he was visiting Frater Achad (Charles Stanfeld Jones) in Detroit… I remain absolutely convinced she was telling the truth about her lineage. .. If I recall correctly, her father had been killed by being struck by lightning, something that Crowley had survived".

Crowley survived being struck by lightning?

This brief newspaper article didn't get to state whether this lightning effect may have been due to some inefficient earthing or side-effect in one of A.C.'s magickal workings.  But then it wouldn’t, of course.  Although always a possibility.
