The Master Therion

I visited The National Portrait Gallery yesterday and came across the painting of 'The Master Therion' in his yogic asana, wearing a red robe with a circular golden aura and triangulated field.

I was shocked, as the art buyers must have purchased this from Ben Fernee? I saw this oil painting for sale on his site a few years back for £17500.

Is this the picture used as the frontispiece for Liber Aleph?

That's the one, Charles...

I can only suspect that, having been hung at the National Portrait Gallery, it'll now be worth substantially more!

Another investment missed...

Oh so true!...another investment very sadly missed. I was huffing and puffing to my girlfriend about it.

You must go and see it though, it is a wonderful piece of work!

I've seen it - it's been restored beautifully...

To be honest, though, I prefer the understatement of Augustus John's portraits.
