Hi Paul

Thanks for sharing that. It was a good read. Too many English in Portugal (RE the wife) stealing our land and making the prices go up.

The French say that too.

Ai ai ai. .... EU

:/

edit to say, the plants talk to me too and they mostly say I want more water you gobshite.

And this wasnt levelled at you. or anyone really. I love the UK but I feel more in common with Irish.

Mick has been absent a bit and I wish him well.  That came about because Margaret Thatcher came into my mind. Anyway it seems I have had too many saturated fats for lunch. The lockdown stuff gets really bad for your pysche. its a prison term 'lock down'

Let me get this straight. Margaret came into your mind and caused Mick to be absent?

@shiva

Quite the fair question.

Let's play a word association game.

... Ireland equals Morrisey equals hates Thatcher equals lived in London equals Michael Staley equals lockdown equals sad ?

I don't think I have ever received a WTF from you , so I will put this one on the mantle.

A bit more OT has anyone here read Pessoa's Book of Disquiet? I was gifted it but I haven't read it yet. I have been to Portugal but never Boca do Inferno. Just Porto, Braga and then in the south near Alentejo.

Yes. And if you have any sense of taste whatsoever, you'll dive in IMMEDIATELY.

"An aesthetic quietism of life, thanks to which the insults and humiliations which constitute life that the living inflict upon us, cannot get any closer to the pathetic periphery of our sensibility at the remote exterior of our conscious soul." - Book of Disquiet, p. 60.

"... You wrote for yourself, not for fame. Together we shall share your verses. Let me be your friend." - Jose Luis Borges on Pessoa.

Again, that's BORGES. A man who wasn't exactly generous with praise for ANYONE.
