I actually enjoyed this show, was looking forward to the third season, Crowley was starting to come into it also but now axed. 😭

Jeez u'd think they'd let the artists finish their work. So much went into creating this and getting it right with all the actors, artists, directors, set designers, writers, etc. A tremendous amount of momentum just axed with a pen. What a shame.

It was a alright from the two eps I watched, but wasn't compelling enough to get a CBS sub. If it was on a service I already subbed to I might have watched it through. Read that a reviewer called it a slow burn. The show didn't appear to drive much discussion anywhere and active discussion helps a show a lot.

That CBS was willing to give this material a chance shows Crowley not only remains steady in mainstream awareness but is expected to have greater appeal. He'll be back; They'll all be back.

My will is fate.

What it really needs is an "Angel" (Pun intended) to philanthropically invest in the cinematic arts here like George Harrison did with The Life of Brian and Handmade Films.  Jimmy Page has deep pockets and a supposedly equally deep & abiding interest in all things Crowley - why can't he possibly help out and do the same?  It would be relatively small change to him (and after all he can't take it with him when he goes...)

Studios have incredibly deep pockets. And they need content to sell forever in their various cable deals and packages. It's a miracle this show got as far as it did and was as well made as it was. True story period pieces are often very cheesy caricature sketches. But I think the filmmakers made a mistake assuming that the money and support wouldn't run out. They should have made a deal whereas they would be allowed 2 seasons to FINISH the show and condense it all down to those 2 seasons to the end of the story. Instead the show proceeded very slowly as they stretched the storyline until support ran out. Lots of politics in movie financing and huge egos running the studios. But hey it was better than nothing. Not bad work at all.

I suppose the show ended similarly to how Jack Parsons life ended? Rather abruptly.
