The 6.66 Freakiest Rock-and-Roll Curses
Whereas Black Sabbath is thought to be more overtly “satanic” than their heavy blues, metal pioneering comrades Led Zeppelin, the fact is that Sabbath songs flee screaming in terror the Devil and his minions (think of Ozzy howling as Old Scratch sits smiling in the group’s eponymous song: “Oh, no! No! Please, God help me!”).
Zeppelin, on the other cloven hoof, was also said to embrace the darkest of dark sides, with guitar wizard Jimmy Page leading the supernatural spelunk as he obsessively studied the life work of notorious British sorcerer Aleister Crowley, even buying and living in Boleskin House, Crowley’s supposedly cursed castle on Loch Ness, in 1970. Page also collaborated with occult filmmaker Kenneth Anger on the infernal 1972 underground classic, Lucifer Rising.
slow news day
But just think how much money these Satanists made ;D

even buying and living in Boleskin[e] House, Crowley’s supposedly cursed castle on Loch Ness, in 1970.
I’ve never come across any other castle before being quite like Boleskine, which being "ranch style" and all on one level is supposedly more like a bungalow? Apart from that, there’s no moat, no battlements, no tower, no drawbridge, no motte and bailey, no … (etc)
But it is meant to be cursed however: "legend" having it that it was built on the site of a church which burned down with all the congregation inside (as presumably they were all too dim-witted to turn the handle of the main door and leave in an orderly fashion?)

Yes from photos I have seen definitely not a castle by any means. Even in Crowley's day when he bought it they never called it a castle did they? Just an estate , country home, kind of thing.
And the curse is about the Abramelin demons but Crowley (I believe) always rightly refuted those stories right? The only trouble I think he really had with demons if you will, was from Chronzon. Anyone, anyone? Bueller?
Been a while since I read the Confessions.
PS
I know Led Zeppelin didn't make some deal with the 'devil' but does anyone else at least get that really good feel good energy magickal feel from their music like I do? In other words, it doesn't have power because they are good at their instruments, nor because they had good production, but also because they had that certain... magick? I mean there is something there. But I don't think I can tie that into Thelema, because I don't think Jimmy was into that until they were already on their way. WHICH SAID, may have some scintillation of truth because I don't get those feelings until like Led Zeppelin IV or so. Hmm.
Ramble on errr I mean carry on.
Well, AC said that (while at this estate) he causually drew out an Abra talisman on his butcher's wrapping paper ... and the butcher coincidently slipped wit his knife and cut his femoral artery. Some slip, eh? I can't remember if he died. Also, if I remember correctly, the Choronzon stuff came later, in Africa. And of course he shows up here in the forums from time to time
I did not know that about the Abramelin bit at boleskin. Or should I say bowl-a-skin? If that's true that is not very nice.... What is your source? Not that I doubt you I just don't recall.
Oh, you know ... the basic story: Confessions.
Thanks Siva; I have been meaning to re read that lately once I move and unpack. It is so huge it is easy to forget bits.
