Cool. But why is one book offered with pictures of a red, a white, and a yellow version?

i think you already know that
No. Not at all. I see several pictures in which books (apparently the "same" book) are presented in red, white, and yellow covers. Now the yellow example is questionable, as it doesn't look like a book, but red and white are hard to confuse with each other.
I remain skeptical, confused, ignorant, or in error. Who gnows?

Just in error. The white is the dust cover, the red is the colour of the boards and the yellow is the colour of the endpapers.
Hope this is helpful.

I see. This is now completely understandable. One would think that I could pick out those distinctions by looking closely ... but I looked (sort of) closely thrice (without going the enlargement route), and it came out three books each time.
Thank you for the revelation.
