I ordered books about a month ago. The website says "processing" (& has for the whole month). I've sent two emails to the listed emails and received no response.

They have a lot of books I want, but I don't really want to send money if I won't receive them.

Did the entire staff die from COVID? This is kind of frustrating.

(This seemed like the most relevant forum for this post, if the moderators disagree, let me know where to post it)

Thanks for the update. I see they have new books(!) but I still see things like this. This has long been a topic of disappointment on this forum, the owner seems to be very unprofessional about this. I am very sorry if something goes wrong with your order I was very close to trying it again soon. My last set I acquired from a 3rd party distributor that seems more reliable.

I made an error in the original post, it has been close to two months (I ordered May 23).

So, will they eventually cough up the books or should I just ask my bank to refund the charges and go with 100th Monkey Press from now on?

@nexist-xendaths yeah definitely pursue a refund however 2 months is probably too long a wait.

Pursue the refund now, would be my advice. Your experience of non-communication and non-delivery of books has been aired by other people who have had similar issues with Hellfire; there was a lengthy thread on LAShTAL about this a few months ago.

I've only bought one item from 100th Monkey Press, and that was a collection of essays by Frater Achad, about a year ago now. They kept me informed of the process of packaging and despatch, the item arrived promptly, and in good condition.  I have been in touch with them on other matters from time to time. I haven't heard anything bad about them; on the contrary.

Yes there is a long thread here about that particular 'gentleman.' Being mostly inactive and taking money for nothing.

The books are great, I have a few. But I recommend getting them second-hand.

He produces beautiful books, but he cannot be trusted. I ordered and paid for a copy of Liber Pyramidos on June 28th 2019 - yes, 2019. I have written to Eamonn Loughran several times since then, but to no avail.

And yes, 100th Monkey Press are very trustworthy. I have a copy of all their publications. They always deliver, and very fast as well!

It's a shame, there were several other titles that looked interesting, but I am not going to throw money away.

Thank you  to everyone for the feedback.

Seems to have been another case of this recently. Stewart Clelland (and others) 'Treasury of Elu Coen Texts' got printed by them (nicely bound but they managed to spell the name wrong), and then orders just didn't seem to get fulfilled. Clelland then rereleased it through Lewis Masonic and it arrived without any issues, albeit with less nice binding.

Not sure what's going on with HFC but they've ruined whatever trust they previously had.

Nothing has changed. I wanted their very nice looking edition of Montague Summers translation of Confessions of Madeleine Bavent and when I ordered I got a nice message saying Eamonn was interested in doing a Summers event. When the book didn't arrive after a couple of weeks and I hadn't even had a despatch notice I sent a few polite emails but silence ensued. I asked London's three occult bookshops, Atlantis, Watkins and Treadwells if they would get me a copy but they all said they refuse to deal with him anymore. Eventually I used my bank's Chargeback system to retrieve my money. I just can't understand why he produces books that have got better in recent years but appears to not send them out much of the time. It's a great shame.

This exact tale has been repeated, over and overly again, in this thread. The bottom line seems to be These books are good - just buy them from an intermediary third-party or risk losing your funds and your mind.

If anyone knows a third party seller who has their edition of Confessions of Madeleine Bavent I was after I'd be very grateful to hear of it. I literally can't find any copy for sale anywhere online.

This book fits the description of a Rare Collector's Item.

Don't understand why you're telling me that.

That "telling" was a General Announcement,; it was not specifically for you (because you probably won't/don't get the joke).

You see, there has been a (small) description around here of Regular (available) Books being adverted as "Rare Collector Item(s)," My post was merely to point out that you are after a really Rare Collector's Item, that is actually "rare."

Three Hands Press appear to be experiencing similar issues. Ordered a copy of one of their journals months ago and it seems to have vanished (with no response from THP), I've heard similar stories from others. Good editions, but safest to buy from a reseller.

I am 'amused' at how often the release date of Arcana Viridia has been changed.   I think we are on date number 3 now.  Covid of course... Worth the wait though when /if it finally comes...
