Nothing for sale is worth more then what any possible buyer is willing to pay for it.

It should not take three months to make the seller or sellers selling the ruins of the 'Abbey of Thelema' understand this.

And only a minority will be willing to buy, something which is a place of pilgrimage for more or less balanced individuals.

Within the three next months arranging an auction of the ruin of the 'Abbey of Thelema' and/or the plot on which it stands, binding or non binding for the seller or sellers that Hecate is in communication with, could help to make it more clear for the seller or the sellers, how much the sales object or sales objects could be sold for.

Another much cheaper option would be to offer free removal of the ruin of the 'Abbey of Thelema', from the plot belonging to the current owner or owners, and either auctioning of the whole removal process, or the whole ruin in one piece, or (perish the thought of it) various bits and pieces of the ruin, to any willing takers.

Really? On what do you base this? I'd have thought that the building is in such a poor state that any attempt to move it could bring the whole thing crashing down…

The frescos are in an absolutely horrible state too. Those which aren't in the process of flaking away completely, have been painted on plaster which is very porus. Any attempt at removal would result in a handful of coloured mush. Any restoration, which would need to be no more than essential stabilization in the first instance, would be another expense.

The thing which distresses me more than anything else about the Abbey is the complete lack of action on behalf on the owners - whoever they may be. Every attempt made to make any kind of purchase, that I have heard about, results either in childish games or totally unrealistic and frankly, foolish, demands.
The only conclusion I can draw is that they are either unready, or unwilling for any kind of realistic offer. I would advise anyone interested in visiting the place, to go sometime soon; as once the east corner gives away, the building will start to disintegrate at a far, far greater rate.

maybe the Abbey was bought by anti crowley individuals who know or who answer to people who know 'Crowleyanity' empowers the people and so are using this as one way to keep the population dumbed down and to stop any kind of centre of light from being created or maintained. In other words Dark Forces! Who have a vested interest in watching the place crumble as part of an energetic victory.
sorry conspiracy theorist at work...
funny thing is most people who are into conspiracy theories view crowley as part of the 'evil' agenda against mankind but it is probably the other way around.
ok back on topic.. 🙂

The Abbey of Thelema

(1) A crumbling, residential ruin in the city of Cefalu, on the north coast of Sicily, that was used, circa 1920-21, by the Master Therion as the physical basis (base) for the establishment of the Law of Thelema on planet Earth. It was designed as a prototype, a self-proclaimed "experiment."

(2) "But your holy place shall be untouched throughout the centuries: though with fire and sword it be burnt down & shattered, yet an invisible house there standeth, and shall stand until the fall of the Great Equinox ..."

This "holy place" is indeed an "invisible house" - and it probably once overshadowed Cefalu, even as I have seen it overshadow a few other places, for it is built in etheric matter and it comes into view, and then even manifestation, as the physical and Magickal energies are prepared and energized (through ritual and practices, and maybe libation).

(3) Such ruins hold a dear place in our hearts. The Abbey is there now, but when it's gone, pieces of it may become as rare as a splinter off the "true cross" or a snippet from the Shroud of Turin. I would like to see it restored and held in trust, for I have cherished and lost other, less significant, edifices. This is how Inside Solar Lodge - Outside the Law ends:

"With some free time on my hands, I took a drive through the old neighborhood.
The original Solar Lodge properties on 30th Street had been demolished to make way for new apartment buildings.
The Grand Solar Lodge, and its adjacent mansions, on Menlo Avenue had also been demolished to make way for new apartment buildings.
Well, there would certainly be no more slumming around, visiting the sites of my earlier endeavors."

On the other hand: "Anicca, anicca!" (Everything passes away).

Some responsible Thelemites or persons with special interest in the building, being there IF the building is removed under controlled circumstances, by "crashing down" if any other option is to expensive, is - IMO - a much cheaper and better alternative, then just waiting for the building's eventual disintegration due to natural causes.

This would more or less fit under the "perish the thought" option mentioned in my former posting in this thread.

Alternatively, one way of sponsoring a removal of Aleister Crowley's artworks from the building, could be done by trying to get the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, the National Geographic Channel, or some other TV-channel, to realize the possibility of making money on a program based around something 'catchy' like; "Can Anti-Christ's Temple-art be saved?", maybe also bringing in a 'medium' or two, to 'tune in' to the building's past.

Greetings & Salutations,

93

i am planning a visit in the Spring (under the assumption that the Abbey will survive the Winter) and would be interested in hearing from anyone who has visited recently. Hecate, if you would be so kind, how did you find your lodging in Cefalu?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I've been lurking for a bit and thought I'd throw off the veil of anonymity in an attempt to grasp the fruit of the tree of knowledge...

greetings from Berlin,
William
