Hello,

I hope that this is ok to post here.

I have three Aleister Crowley books for sale:

1 x The Book Of The Law = Illuminated Edition numbered 430 of 500, still in excellent condition with some yellowing to page edges and a smell of cigarettes and incense

1 x Commentaries on the holy books - Samuel Weiser 1996 edition. The book is in very good condition with some creases to the front cover and spine.

1 x The holy books of Thelema - Samuel Weiser 1988 edition. The book is in very good condition, with only minor bumps to the covers and some shelf wear.

I am looking for £150 (postage included) for all three.

Happy to share photos via email.

Happy to share photos via email.

Email communications can be (not are) dangerous and many folks hesitate or refuse to post their address. The proper way to get full coverage is to set forth full coverage. Your photos should be up front (posted here in your ad), or you should post your email address so that potential buyers may get to you without exposing their secret data.

All of this free advice come to you free from freeadvice.com.

Hello again,

Here are some photographs of the three books, hopefully there won’t be too much resolution lost having resized these to fit under 2MB.

I should also state that postage is UK only.

Update

The Book of the Law has now been sold, so only the other two titles are available.

With this in mind, I’d be looking at only £50 plus £5 postage for the two.

Best wishes,

Rich

Update

nono ... Congratulations on becoming rich, day by day.

Your use of BOLD CAPITALISTIC LETTERS suggests that you are becoming excited ... or wealthy, or are pushing the envelop[e in order to get this sordid business over with.

I would Rx you a tranquilizer, but since you're selling in Lbs, that would be illegal as you're not in my  jurisdiction.

Potential buyers may now be confused. So which is "the only other one?"

By subtracting those books cited as "sold," we come up with ...

The Holy Books
themselves

Why, I would snap these up myself, if it were 50 years ago, when I was quick to grab all everythings AC-related.

I would not as I am sure I would have been busy with potty-training. But I do fondly recall that period where ANYTHING I could find by Crowley at the used bookstores I would haunt was as Gold! I bought Liber Aleph in the basement of a used bookstore in Minneapolis-and have that battered but sturdy Weiser paperback to this day. I bought it before I had acquired or really knew WHAT the Book of the Law really was. It made for baffling reading as I, a Stranger in a Strange Land (the Magical Universe), struggled to learn the lingo and catch up to speed.

But back to the final offering!

ANYTHING I could find by Crowley at the used bookstores I would haunt was as Gold!

There was (I just checked and it is apparently a comic book store, now) The Cherokee Bookstore on the corner of Hollywood Blvd & Cherokee Ave. In it there was a large safe under thye cash register. I went there three times to see a certain book. The second two times, I brought someone else to see the treasure in the safe. It was

The Book of Thoth  -  $500

So we (and a lot of other folks), who are advanced in decades, fully understand the Student Reading List (anything you can get) and the Probation phase, where book were gold, eggs, black hens, and pigs in pokes ... Sell it to me ! They were always expensive. Not $500, but a lot more than "other" " books in the same size and category.

There are (were) other phases, right? How about the QBL phase?  I don't know anybody who built their instruments from scratch (not mining the metals, but starting with raw, but pure, metals. We all, and all my students, built their disk from brass stock - hours of grinding and polishing - very dirty, with very shiny results. Fr.'. Shen had a 12" dagger he fashioned from a metal-file.

The point, of my comment, not the razor-sharp dagger, is that there are phases, that mostly correspond to the grades, the real ones - not the Masonic make-belives. Ha - the Masonic make-ups were the heart of my life in a certain phase ... and we see the phases in this poster and that one, too. I sometimes shamelessly poke fun at then, citing "higher" aphorisms, but I try not to discourage them, because ... There, by the grace of the Angels, went I.

But then I sold all my books (substituting ALL of them with heretical, digitized eLibers. And I shipped my last magical weapon off to the Solar Lodge Museum - yes, there really is one.
