On another note, whereabouts are the Irish O.T.O camps or headquarters?
Dublin or Cork area; does anyone know?

Judgeing from the dreft of answers i think the Irish OTO HQ is the UK one and the Irish oasis does not exist. I may be wrong tho. I'm not aware of any 'Thelemic' group operating here. I think the Irish are more into that 'celtic' thang, once again i may be wrong.

Saying that you can usually find the usual suspects on the shelfs of the bookshops, so someone must be buying them. (mind you, in my seven years here i've only seen LiberAL on sale once)

One of the more obscure versions of the OTO has apparently organised in Ireland. Can't remember exactly what they call themselves. I think their main base is in Roscommon which is obscure almost beyond belief.

With regards to books in Dublin, Forbidden Planet used to be the best but that seems to be gone. The shop with the best selection to my knowledge is Chapters on Parnell Street, though you won't get any bargains there (the Astrology book is over €100).

The group is the OTO Foundation (I think) which is seems to have been formed by ex Caliphate members. I have an e-mail address which I can pass on if you pm with the proviso that I know nothing about them and don't even know the person whose e-mail address seems to be the current contact. You may also be able to contact them through the U.K. website, http://www.seriousthelema.org.uk/index.htm, which goes under the name of Serious Thelema. A bit po-faced I would have thought πŸ™‚

If you want to know what's going on in the Irish Occult scene, you might try heading over to the Occult Ireland forum:

93 Serpentscribe

So can you confirm if this is a official Caliphate lodge/encampment?
Seems to be from the website.
Personally i have had dealing with some ex Caliphate members in Ireland here via the O.T.O.F. and they have a few lodges.
Link properly provided below

http://www.seriousthelema.org.uk/index.ht m"> http://www.seriousthelema.org.uk/index.htm

Rather than just providing links etc can you briefly summarize what the intentions/scale/activities of the encampment are?
Why it has been established after so many years of non Caliphate involvement in Ireland?[/url]

93!

Without knowing anything about any of the involved parties, I would say, that the answer lies in the question. Probable answer: to get involved?
