New guy, I’m a Roman Catholic who is currently fascinated with Liber Astarte and bhakti yoga. Any threads or people knowledgeable on this? I decided to do a regimen based on this Liber for the Saints of my choosing (of course can only pick one.)
“You were anointed as a guardian cherub,
for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones.
you were blameless in your ways
from the day you were created
till wickedness was found in you.
Through your widespread trade
you were filled with violence,
and you sinned.
So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God,
and I expelled you, guardian cherub,
from among the fiery stones.
Your heart became proud
on account of your beauty,
and you corrupted your wisdom
because of your splendor.
So I threw you to the earth “

Welcome @yoooo to LAShTAL. Please note that this site is dedicated to the life, works and legacy of Aleister Crowley. It is not an occult site and it does not provide teaching.
I can tell you that Crowley published Liber Astarte in his Equinox periodical and that it is also known as 'The Book of the Beryl Stone'.

Welcome to LAShTAL.
I share your interest in Liber Astarte. I worked with it for three months or so in the mid 1970s, and - to relapse into cliché for a moment - it was one of my formative magical and mystical experiences. Since the essence of it is bhakti or devotion, I'm sure that you could choose a Christian saint rather than a deity and work it with equal success.
Welcome to the mad house friendo! 🙂
I have never done Astarte but I experience with Bhakti, a good 2 or 3 years very devout in college, as a bhakta of Kali. She visited me and took me out of my body one night after weeks of puja, and I drowned in a kind of bliss at her feet in the Ocean of Milk. It is probably the best 'feeling' I have ever had, a kind of dissolving of the ego/samadhi.
Welcome aboard once again,
Chris

"…he
Hath begotten upon me
A secret wonder that must wait
For the hour of the falling of thy fate,
Nineteen centuries shalt thou
Plague earth with that agonizing brow,
And then that age of sordid strife
Give place to the aeon of love and life .
A lion shall rise and swallow thee,
Bringing back life to Arcady .
So strong shall he roar that the worlds shall quake
And the waters under the heaven break,
That the earth of the father’s hate accurst,
Shall be greener and gladder than the first"
