Hello,

My interest in the occult stretches back about thirty years and I have crossed several path along the way, Wicca, Åsatru, La Veyan Satanism etc. I've had a copy of Magick on my bookshelf for well over twenty of those years, but haven't really read much of it.

In November of last year, I picked up a couple more Crowley related books and my interest was well and truly aroused 🙂

My book collection has grown, I have started a magical diary and am practicing Asana daily. Even setting my alarm clock half an hour early so  can practice with an empty stomach and a mind uncluttered by the stresses of the day. My wife has also become interested and intends to join me in my Thelemic studies.

I look forward to being a part of the forums here.

My Asana practices have been going well actually. I'm up to nearly an hour now and have been trying chakra visualisation to enhance my concentration on each breath. I have noticed when passing 45 mins that I start to get a body separation feeling in first my legs, then my arms. This is then followed by a real feeling of euphoria. This has only happened a couple of times so far and has been after the usual shakes in my limbs have subsided. However, even these are starting to disappear now and my body is remaining remakably calm. I've been practicing every day for just over a month now and am finding it most relaxing and enjoyable.

I have just started Pranayama too and am noting all results in my daily magical diary. It's good to look back to a month ago and see the progress I've made already.

and if you get bored with yogic stuff Id like to reiterate my opinion from another introduction that daoist practises such as tai qi and qi gong work just as well, if you want to spice it up. Thats the type of asana I used to do. We would hold poses called the sleeping lion for like 45 minutes straight, lying on back, chin to chest, legs up at a 45 degree angle and arms up too, as if you are crawling upside down, and it really gets the energy going 🙂
