Work on this is now almost complete, and it will be going to the printers later this month for publication in September. I have added details of the forthcoming republication to a page on the Starfire Publishing website. You can access it via the Forthcoming Books menu item on the website, or you can access via a link here:

http://www.starfirepublishing.co.uk/Cults_of_the_Shadow.htm

The page includes some of the plates, including Steffi Grant's frontispiece, now reproduced in colour. There is also a taste of the illustrated endpapers, featuring snippets from a notebook in which Kenneth Grant developed his ideas for Cults of the Shadow.

Advance ordering will open later this month for both the standard and the deluxe editions, and will be announced via our mailing list.

Michael,

I cannot right-click the images and download them.  It won't let me for some reason.  If you could fix that or email them to me, I'd appreciate it!

As a matter of course I use html code to disable the right-click as well as the drag-and-drop utliities for copying images. Took me a while to find the code; ain't gonna stop now, as they say.

Seriously though, I'd rather that people didn't copy these images.

I'm good with computers so I did it without screenshots or any fanciness. But because I respect you Mick if you'd rather  I didn't have separate copies I will delete them.  That said, the sad (?) thing about the net age is nothing is ever un-copyable.  For instance I have the original large format images which are separate from the resized ones on your page.  I would never share them save with other Typhonians, but yes, lest my post seems trite and acidic, neither of which is meant of course, just a note that nothing is secret these days I'm afraid.  🙁  Take care and no hard feelings. Just two occult acolyte fanboys 🙂

I'm happy to confirm that this book will be going off to the printers shortly for publication in September. This book completes the first of the three Typhonian Trilogies, which will thereby be back in print for the first time in many years.

Reservation ahead of publication - for both the standard and the deluxe editions - is now available. Ordering details can be found on the Starfire Publishing website. A link to the page is here:

http://www.starfirepublishing.co.uk/Cults_of_the_Shadow.htm

Further details of the contents of Cults of the Shadow can be found here:

If anyone would like to be added to the mailing list, and thus kept abreast of our forthcoming titles as they are prepared, please email us at admin@starfirepublishing.co.uk

Now onwards - ever onwards - to the second Trilogy . . .

Best wishes,

I'm very pleased to say that after some delay in getting the book to press, the new edition of Cults of the Shadow by Kenneth Grant has been printed, and binding of the standard edition is underway for delivery to me by the end of this week. Pre-publication orders for the standard edition will be despatched in early November.

The binding of the deluxes will then be undertaken by a specialist bookbinders, for delivery in late November or early December.

My apologies for the delay in publication of both editions.

Since my announcement above of its imminent publication, Cults of the Shadow has been subject to an extraordinary series of mishaps at the binding stage, leading to a serious delay in publication.

I'm pleased to say, however, that the standard edition of the book was finally delivered to me earlier this afternoon. The packaging and despatch of pre-publication orders will start shortly.

Received my copy from Michael today.  Very pleased to see that the production gremlins have been properly bound and duly banished.

Have had my Muller copy since early 1976 e.v. and it is great to finally have Steffi Grant's cover artwork as it was originally intended: I think that it is one of her very best.  The plates are superb: Bertiaux in full colour and each of Steffi's works given a full and separate plate; again I find these to be some of her most magically evocative.  "The Sign of the Enterer" and "Lycanthropy" are probably my personal favourites.

Typhonian Trilogy One brought to full fruition.  Well deserved congratulations Michael !

Thank you, Stephen, for your appreciation of the republication. Agree with you about "Lycanthropy"; one of my favourites, too.

Concerning the size of the plates, it was Muller who squeezed in terms of space the drawings by Steffi. When the Skoob reprint was being prepared, Kenneth asked them to allocate full pages, which Skoob happily did.

Another amazing republication. Thanks, Starfire, and hats off. As an amateur publicist, I really do appreciate the hard work which has been put into this editing job. It's a nice role model for my own endeavours. Of course, I am far away from this level of expertise. Content wise, being a German growing up in a pre-Ebay world, I had no access to Grant's books when I bought most of my Magiebücher, so Grant has always been a kind of a blind spot on my thelemic map. I am glad I am able to read this stuff now in this form, for an affordable price (standard edition). Two thumbs up! 93/93

Many thanks for your appreciative remarks, terra_trema. I love doing these republications of the Typhonian Trilogies. In the course of preparing the text, and fine-tuning the typeset PDF, I plunge into the work as never before. Recently I've been preparing Nightside of Eden for the press - it should go to the printers in late December or early January, for publication in February - and am struck by the fantastic leap between Cults of the Shadow and Nightside of Eden.

So, once Nightside is published, the first two Trilogies will be back in print. That calls for a celebratory drink from Hecate's fountain.

Don't you mean that the first two trilogies will be back in print after *Hecate's Fountain* is published? Nightside is only the first in the second trilogy, OTCOT has already been reprinted, but not Hecate's Fountain... not yet.

Yes, you're quite right, 509; my error. Hecate's Fountain is the last volume of the second Trilogy, which won't therefore be back in print until its republication currently planned for Spring 2014.

Terrific work once again Michael. I received my copy and cherish it. There is just something about Grant's books that is so 'alive', the choice of topics, words and accompanying art by steffi & others give each tome its own peculiar feel and suggestiveness. As a method of communicating information to the reader I really respond to it. Cannot wait for Nightside!
