The second volume in the reprints of the Typhonian Trilogies, Outside the Circles of Time went to the printers in mid December. Digital printers' proofs were successfully passed before the dreaded two-week Chistmas / New Year shutdown, but printed proofs will be coming my way in a few days. Publication will be in late January or early February.
This is a reprint of the 2008 edition, save for the correction of a typesetting flaw. As with The Magical Revival, there is a paperback as well as a hardback format. Ordering ahead of publication will open later this month.
After this title is published, we shall leap back to Aleister Crowley and the Hidden God, and thenceforth in sequence of original publication.

I remember when I first signed aboard the good ship, Lashtal. OTCOT was something of a "White Whale." At that time, I was able to trade some art for a battered and paint-splattered copy of this book with one of our posters. I would later acquire the reprint/upgrade with the great block-print end papers by Steffi Grant.
If memory serves, there was an "review" of this volume by an ardent member of OTO, Inc around that time. As I recall, this "review" was lauded by some and condemned by others. As I recall, it attempted to make Kenneth Grant look like a fanatical Cthulhu cultist and swipe the whole the book off the stage with a smug smile.
Does anyone here remember that "review?" It was quite funny. I think it might be in our archives.
We tried, as I remember, to share Kenneth's mystical perspective on the Lovecraft Mythos but were rebuked by one who refused to understand OTCOT in anything other than literal terms.
Well...
OTCOT remains a poetic epic, a Sutra, an amazing Trans-Cosmic Tour De Force. It is great to hear word of this once rare and hard to find work emerging for new readers.

Yes. We have a Membership Secretary, Edward Gauntlett. If you email him, he will send you a pdf of our Preliminary Statement which gives more details about the Order. You can email Edward at the following address:

Thank you Michael! I'll send Edward an email.
I think you will be better off with the Typhonians than you would have been with those O9A Hitler-worshippers. I may make fun of tentacle-cultists, but they beat Nazis any day of the week.

Yes, I think I'm going to like the Typhonian Order. I just got the email from the Secretary who gave me the PDF with membership details.
I find the Typhonian Order's practice and interest in contacting supra-mundane or non-mortal "entities" to be interesting and a viable practice.
That O9A spoke about similar topics in an article: https://archive.org/details/nexion-zine-7.1/page/n169/mode/2up
Yes, I think I'm going to like the Typhonian Order.
Well yes, it does if you also happen to like the idea of contacting tentacled Lovecraftian spawn, were-spiders, insect overlords, all sorts of "slugs 'n' snails 'n' puppy dog tails" & the like, then it should be right up your street! Or alternatively if you appreciate KG's rather unique sense of humour (about which my late friend Gerald Suster observed he was possibly the "greatest piss-taker since Frank Zappa" - an accolade which KG himself considered to be rather amusing, apparently). I don't think they charge dues either, which would be another plus. Please let us know in due course how you get on and what you think of it, and whether it managed to come up to all your expectations (if you're allowed to that is).
interest in contacting ... non-mortal "entities"
Do you mean the same thing as "immortal" here, and if so is there any evidence anywhere that any entities would be in this position?
Incidentally, although this isn't your introduction: welcome to Lashtal & I hope you find any time spent here prophetic profitable!

Hi, no, no, no. I didn't mean "immortal." Non-Mortal meaning that we are mortal creatures of flesh and blood and so a "non-mortal," can be any kind of non-corporeal "entity" such as spirits, or archetypes, or tulpas [thoughtforms]. Which was why I placed the word entity in quotes.
But there are stories in China of the Immortals of Green Mountain. Those are Taoist Sages who had practiced Taoist Spiritual Alchemy, and created for themselves immortal "rainbow bodies." Per tradition, you would have to learn how to dislodge your mind or spirit from your body to travel to the higher realms in order to communicate and learn from such immortals.
Thank you for the welcome!

There's a little more to Kenneth Grant's work than this, Jamie. Advaita Vedanta, for instance; Spare's Zos-Kia, for another.

This is a more interesting remark. It depends what you mean by "evidence". What evidence is there, for instance, for the existence of Samadhi, or of True Will, or of the Holy Guardian Angel? There is no evidence that we possess free will, for instance, but we operate on the assumption that we do possess such, and society is predicated on that basis.
When it comes to working with magick and mysticism, my most fundamental guide is intuition; that's my primary tool, and it's evidence enough for me. It probably won't satisfy others, but then that's up to them.

Advaita... I like advaita. It's closer to what you'd find in my own culture. It didn't know the Typhonian Order was into that. It's a pleasant surprise.
profitable!
This is a non-prophet institution for the mentally enabled. Any profit would be Black Magic.
I find it interesting that there are three threads running concurrently about organized Thelema, or its imitation by blackards. I guess it's time to review the list (again), check it twice - find out who's naughty or nice. The Niceans were naughty, but don't be confused.

May you rise up, ascend beyond the trammels of the mundane into realms of aether and the Plateau of Lung/Leng region of the Naga Serpent Dragon potentates; nourish on prana, amrita; and may your appearance of a person be utilized.
" forget you are a thing among other things, join with the deep and boundless. Undo the mind, slough off spirit, be blank and soulless, and the ten thousand things one by one will return to the root—return to the root and not know why. Dark and undifferentiated chaos—to the end of life none will depart from it. But if you try to know it, you have already departed from it. Do not ask what its name is, do not try to observe its form. Things will live naturally end of themselves."
from a parable about "Cloud Chief" "Big Concealment" with "dance; jump"
" Not every man has an obligation to mingle in the affairs of the world. There are some who are developed to such a degree that they are justified in letting the world go its own way and refusing to enter public life with a view to reforming it. But this does not imply a right to remain idle or to sit back and merely criticize. Such withdrawal is justified only when we strive to realize in ourselves the higher aims of mankind. For although the sage remains distant from the turmoil of daily life, he creates incomparable human values for the future. "
"The superior must first remove stagnation by stirring. "

the Plateau of Lung/Leng
I prefer the spelling "Ling." Add it up.
In English, it's spelled "Line."
they are justified in letting the world go its own way and refusing to enter public life with a view to reforming it.
This is why it's so difficult to make any gov efficient. Those who could hold such positions without corruption refuse to do so because the corruption is so entrenched, and they know better than to try.
Such withdrawal is justified only when we strive to realize in ourselves the higher aims of mankind.
Well put.

You're quite right, of course Mick: I didn't mean to suggest that was all the Order did or had to offer, and apologize if that impression was inadvertently given. That's why - unless it truly is a secret society or at least trying to cultivate the mystique of one - it would be interesting for people to be able to sincerely enquire & find out in detail more about the programme of all the activities in which it currently engages, particularly so far as these involve the work of AC (as well as KG & AOS) himself.

Outside the Circles of Time came back from the printers a couple of weeks ago, and advance orders are still being packaged and despatched. Shortly it will be time for the next reprint - Aleister Crowley and the Hidden God - to go off to the printers.
I've been very pleasurably surprised by the demand for Outside the Circles of Time. I found it a very difficult read when it first came out in 1980, laying it aside unfinished. I came back to it a few years later, and found it extremely fertile.
