I am sure upgrades are being tweaked as we speak but for the record the site is extremely squashed now .

@lashtal

No worries, sir.  I liked that black font up top but the logo is cool too.

I wonder if centring the logo would look better than left justified. just musing.

I have upgraded the Galleries software used on this site to a Professional version. Expensive but (hopefully) worth it.

Please report any problems or suggestions here...

Click on your username, just left of any of your posts. Then click on Account and you'll find the Signature halfway down the page.

Is it just me or did the forums just get very very narrow today?

Much better before; there seem to be other new design elements which are hard to notice because it is all TOO NARROW!

Narrow-lined column steeples
are for narrow-minded peeples.

This is probably a test - one designed to see how much lateral pressure you can take without splitting.

Looks like we have a new forum topics/posts column but the old one is still there, making things a bit narrow. I guess one of these columns is unnecessary and would make things "wide" again if it left us.

Banishing, banishing, banishing. That's all we seem to be doing these days.

@shiva

I'm sure we could invoke something too if we could all agree on something worth invoking.

We need to evoke a thing that makes things wider, or alternatively, banish that which makes them narrower.

Thoth is good for technical matters. I'll give him a call. We don't all need to agree because (I know it's a group forum, but) a group is not required to do an invocation.

Now look, you (anyone) doesn't do an invocation to get something, or get something done. Sure, one can assume the godhead and then evoke the spirit, etc.

I don't do that stuff anymore. I'll just let Him do what he thinks is necessary to bring widths and spacings in line with the divine plan ... so we don't feel so squished and can go back to doing our true will in a more "spread out" manner.

No. I am referring to neither a Tarot reading nor of expanding LAShTAL to multiple websites, everywhere.

Thank you Paul!

We have now performed a successful collective Magick ritual to re-widen the forums, though whether this counts as "evok[ing] a thing that makes things wider", or contrawise, as "banish[ing] that which makes them narrower", is unclear.

On the one hand, we have petitioned Paul to fix the problem ("evok[ing] a thing that makes things wider"), but on the other hand, he has fixed it by eliminating the double right-hand column ("banish[ing] that which makes them narrower"). So is there in the end any difference between evocation and banishing?

An ancient debate rages on, unsettled. I will leave it to the the many assembled experts to decide.

We have evoked The Demon Feazey, with great success! Now don't forget to banish. 🤣 🤣

... is unclear.

There always seems to be a detail or twor of unclearity in these matters when viewed in the rear-view mirror.

It's a two-way street rocky path over the Himalayas. The difference is found in which way you are going, and which mirror you are looking into, and when.

The new design is kinda cool & very up-to-date looking, but is way too busy on the front page. Every story and pic appears multiple times- should be toned down a bit i think?

Agree. Don't know that it's necessary to have "breaking news" (this feels a bit "CNN") but the immediate appearance of the site definitely has more impact!

I don't like the way the scrolling Breaking News LOOKS but I like that it is THERE because I often miss news items and forgot to check the homepage..... maybe make it smaller and take out the images in it?

And if its scrolling up there we don't need the huge breaking news logo on the left it is kind of apparent what it is, or at least it is eye catching due to movement?

way too busy

This was my reaction. It is so busy that the loading of the page is significantly slowed down.

breaking news

Unfortunately, the News usually is not "Breaking," but sometimes days or weeks old.

I think it was good, just too busy, a toned version might be cool. But this version is fine.

As was the case in the beginning, after ther the Earth was without form, and Void, which was about a year ago ...

Adjusting the software recently concluded with a Dark Blue Background with Black (?) type in the Leave a reply box.

While I understand that modern programmers are tending towards dark gray on light gray, or other "colorful" but non-B&W renderings, the current row is very difficult to read/see/use.

I make a motion to reduce the darkness of the Dark Blue background, so as to provide contrast and improve readability.

For the last month or so the Gallery picture on the home page has been a picture of the first German edition of Book 4.

I love the picture, it is a cracker, but normally the gallery picture changes every day.

Hi Paul,

hope this is a good thread for this question (I know it isn't). I have to change my email address. Is the Lashtal account in any way connected with an email address or only with the username? I can't find any option to change the address.

Thanks in advance and best wishes

Hi Lutz,

That's a security feature to stop identities being stolen. Drop me an email from your new email address and I'll update the site accordingly.

Forum Software Upgrade: File Attachments

I have purchased an upgrade to the Forum software we run on this site. It will now allow the addition of files to Forum posts, including graphics, PDFs and so on. Use the My Media, Attach Files or Drag-and-Drop options.

Please use wisely, moderately and with due consideration around copyright restrictions.

the security certificate has probably expired.

This is exactly what the notice states. These notices used to pop-up more often, including big-time commercial sites. Anyway, our passport(s) has expired and it'll take multiple clicks to get through every phase of the Tuat just to see or send a simple song.

All sorted - many thanks to @eol

In the event of any technical problems, it's perhaps worth letting me know via email - lashtal@icloud.com - for a quicker response...

My apologies for any inconvenience.

This is not your traditional email hovel. It is noted that you are "up in the clouds." Is webmaster@lasthtal,com still viable?
