Hi all,

We've had some issues with fake/spam accounts being registered lately. I have managed to remove all 1.5K of those accounts and to let in a few valid ones. If you have created an account in the last 10 days and didn't get an approval today it may mean that you will have to do it again - and please don't use john123 as your username.

I have added a more advanced CAPTCHA protection to our registation form.

Also, since I'm back from my trip to the far North I will be back on pending LAShTAL features next week. Tapatalk has been fixed so I can focus on other things. Expect Galleries to be back at some point next week.

A number of users have today reported receiving an obvious spam message from a new user at this site - some have expressed concern that this suggests a possibility that the site has been 'hacked.'

Please be assured that the site has not been hacked: the message was simply sent by a spammer or spamming software that managed to create a new account. The relevant account has been deleted, as will similar accounts that make it past the registration process in future.

Please also be advised that I do not live in the Cote d'Ivoire, I probably wouldn't give you $2.5m dollars even if I had it, and my name isn't Miss Darine!

I too got this "spam" mail. However, having read Dr. Kaczynski's most recent book, I figured that this cannot be a coincedence and that the contents of the message must be true. Thus, I wisely wired her the money.

Hi Fellas,

DITTO HERE

Had two little 'messages' from the LASH in my 'junk file'.
So knew something was amiss - hit delete & never even read it.
Hope I didn't miss anything - like that brain shrinking mozzie virus!

I see the sender of the rather poor and obviously criminal scam "private message" (that everyone appears to have got!) is a woman whose name is all over the Internet on various sites, and is flagged on at least one scam-buster site as a wrong 'un. I'd love a couple million $ but I fear it'd be magickal thinking of the wrong kind to hope that there's even a snowball in carcosa's chance of getting it.

Just logged-in and found two spam emails from "ladies" desperate to meet me / get to know me. If I wanted this I'd have signed up for a dating site. Grr
