I recently picked up a second hand book entitled 'Sussex Villains' by W.H. Johnson (Countryside Books 2003).

One of the chapters is called 'Master of Chaos -Or Charlatan?' which is an account of A.C.'s alleged pursuit, circa 1927, of Victor Neuburg, who lived at Vine Cottage in nearby Steyning, West Sussex "in fear" after a visit by 666, who called asking Kathleen Neuburg where Victor Neuburg was (Neuburg hadn't seen Crowley for more than a decade).

Wonder if there are are any other sources supporting or disproving this story?

I think that The Magical Dilemma of Victor Neuburg by Jean Overton Fuller mentions the story.
