Lon Milo Duquette Bio:
Singer-songwriter, recording artist, and humorist, Lon Milo DuQuette is also the author of 19 critically acclaimed books (translated in 12 languages) on Magick and the Occult. Critics have called him one of the most respected and entertaining writers and lecturers in the field of the Western Mystery Traditions.

DuQuette appears occasionally on television and radio as a guest expert on subjects involving the occult. He is a contributor to the Magical Egypt DVD series’ and a host on the new series, The Great Work.

He lives in Costa Mesa, California with his wife of 52 years, Constance.

Why does Occultism lend itself so well to horror?
Why, invoking Because ... Because the first stop on The Occult Express is the astral plane, which (especially at its lower levels) is filled with goblins, orcs, dragons, and such. These instill Fear ("horror").
Ordo Templi Orientis, one of the most influential magical societies of the 20th and 21st Centuries.
20th, yeah. 21st ... ? The quoted honorific may be exaggerated in its sweeping inclusion of the 21st century, which is now ... a time when OTO seems to have gone completely "occult," withdrawing behind its veils into non-influential silence.
I don't mean to be a purposeful detractor, but (really) we try to keep the record and the presentations straight around here.
The question is answered basically the same way by Lon. Perhaps hit the play button on the site (or the YouTube channel).
Regarding the pedantic point about centuries; that’s pulled from Lon’s Amazon bio. Perhaps take it up with them?

I have to agree with Shiva on one point, that the OTO despite promises have done nothing of either Public or Publishing work since maybe the early 90s?
A shame really.
This is probably grammar Nazi as well but you told the gentleman to 'take it up with them' are you insinuating that we should not just ask Lon but also Amazon?
At any rate thanks for posting this. I really respect Lon to the utmost and his Tarot book in particular is really helping me.
Shall check this out soon.93s

I said ‘them’ as I assume Lon doesn’t write all of his own bios. I believe it would be Amazon in this case. I could be wrong though.
**edit** Just to clarify, I pulled this bio from Lon’s Amazon biography.

Ask 'em all under Oath. Let The Inquisition begin! Nobody is exempt.
I started by asking the poster who posted, bringing the misinformation into our midst. He claimed Amazon did It and cited his innocence ...
I believe it would be Amazon in this case. I could be wrong though.
... and thus missing the point that he posted misinformation, which everybody knows is untrue, and then (rather than acknowledging the marketing lie, simply points the finger offsite to parties unknown.
The lesson to be learned at this non-teaching site is that one better be pretty carefully when casually copying Shinola about the Occulted Order and dumping it on our shiny floor (where even tiny specks of purposeful illusion can easily be seen).
I understand Lon is cool. We thank you for your promotions (of Lon). Please note that Amazon does not write bios - it is a commercial site where authors and their agents post outrageous lies about themselves and their important connections to ineffectual entities.

As a former employee of Amazon both in the Prime trailer realm and the shopfront PR realm i can tell you that you’re actually incorrect on this front. Bios are often actually written by staff members, especially when the author sells a reasonable amount of books, or has a large enough bibliography to justify one.
I’m a little bit worried that a pedantic comment has now spawned a rather boring thread about the inner workings of Mr Bezos’ sinister corporation.
Imagine how much more fun we’d have actually discussing something a bit more meaty, instead of picking at the threads of something so, frankly, petty.

I accept your direct experience in this matter.

Mr Bozo's insertion was secondary. Don't worry about the thread going whacko - it can easily be brought back on-topic.
The neglected point, the repeated question, is why would you copy and post something that everybody knows is exaggerated and untrue?
I understand that the Oriental Templars are forbidden by decree to post here at LAShTAL. So, you see, they have drawn the line, and so we (I take full personal responsibility) must watch carefully what comes across that line, or perimeter.
... something so, frankly, petty.
The OTO has not been a major influence in the 21st century. My motion has been seconded. You have posted a sensitive, exaggerated lie, spun out for commercial purposes, and there's always somebody around here who is ready to pounce on any mistruth or blatant lie.
The status of OTO is of great concern around here.
