Anyone here a member of an Order/Coven/Fraternity/Cult/what-have-you? If so, please state which and what you think of it so far.

Thanks in advance.

By the way, I am not and have never been a member of any Order. I am simply trying to see what's out there and attempting to gather information concerning those established among us.

Is google banned for you?

Really though, what's the reason behind this thread/discussion? What are you trying to glean that you can not from google?

🙄

Google's not going to give me a high concentration of opinions from people of a Thelemic/Crowley bent. Perhaps there are groups with no websites?

Most "esoteric" orders/what-have-yous are Secret Societies.

Solar Lodge initiates all took an oath that included the words, "I will not reveal the name of any member of this order or the location of its camps."

Other orders are now holding public classes, spreading the name of their group around the www and other places, and their members just can't wait to proclaim their affiliation. These, of course, are probably outer, outer orders and we can only hope that they are more effective in transmitting* the "mysteries" than say, the Chamber of Commerce or the local Homeowner's Association.

*transmitting = "transmission" = the passing on of energy, symbols and (maybe even) levels of consciousness.

You have asked a very definite and specific personal question. You will probably get a number of responses that are either sarcastic or funny or that admonish you to mind your own business, thank you. Other responses may reveal memberships and names of orders - of these, the next question (from beginners) that is often asked is, "What is your grade/level/degree?" Followed by, "who is your teacher, what drugs do you take, and please describe your sexual habits?"

Really!

Hey, glad to hear it! 😆

Perhaps I should be less intrusive?

How many of you have found a group you enjoy being a part of?

How many of you are part of a group but would enjoy it much more if a few specific changes were made? What would those changes be?

😆 A lovely reply; thank you.

Given what's available to those apt to take advantage, I suppose the most powerful and wise groups (and thus the ones most desirable) may not have outer manifestations, assuming that forming of the group, the distribution of information, etc. is all within the realm of possibility for its founders.

I'm not trying to ruin anybody's good time or start any funny business. I am simply interested in the people here and where they've put themselves.

I am in good old traditional English UGLE Freemasonry. I really enjoy it. I have also been exalted into Royal Arch and advanced into Mark masonry - with its unrelated adjunct the Royal Ark Mariners. I have been through the chair and hope one day to join the R+C.

Freemasonry is a sea in which a gnat may drink and an elephant may bathe. One takes out what one puts in!
