why seek secrecy?

It's less about secrecy and more about being able to have an open discussion without the noise of a useless peanut gallery contributing at best offerings that are tainted with concerns about their own egos, like you. There's a lot of information we're tiptoeing around that would be easier said plainly too.

YOU talking about egos?! YOU?

Speechless. Do you even re-read your own posts?

Unbelievable.

You need some serious (real- not role playing) introspection.

Your inability to learn from the more experienced among us is a tell-tale sign.

It's people communicating, not your paranoia.

Then let them communicate privately, outside a public forum. People used to exchange business cards as a matter of genealogy gentility, and I believe LAShTAL used to post members email addresses, if the member listed it. But LAShTAL offers anonymity ... why a person can put up a pic of their dog or girlfriend as an avatar and pick a username of any star..

It cannot be my paranoia, because I am the one who posts my emailer in public. People who want to talk secretly are displaying true paranoia. You have it all mixed up and backward. One cannot start being irrational until after they have published their pamphlet or poem and given up their authority over thousands of aspirants.

Posted by: @xon

As usual you're against anything that might threaten your hegemony of the site and benefit others.

Oh, come now!  You are displaying the Challenger to the King of the Hill archetypal syndrome. But Ignant is not the hedged king. We have no king. We have a moderator who is capable of being the royal executioner, but the rest of us are on a fairly level playing field. Anybody who has been here a while on a regular basis has stood up to the Ignant Review. He particularly dislikes duplexity in any form, so to pass the test you cannot lie, hint, pretend, or condescend. You must answer every inquisition honestly. If you do, you can join the club. Oh, I'm not talking about LAShTAL now. Where did I deviate and start rambling about The Secret Chiefs and The Knights of the Grue Grail? Or was it The Ascended Masters? I confuse all these groups than guide evolution from the inner planes.

Posted by: @xon

You must be kidding.

Surely not. Stop hiding and wanting a private communication system at someone else's expense. Post any one of your email addresses and take the "private" comm out into the private realm.

chris: I don't think i called you old? And you are actually a couple years older than i would have guessed.

Unless our very arrogant and preening aspiring 7=4 started posting here at age 11, he's a good deal older than 25. I would guess he's about the same age as you.

Just another one of those mid-30s dudes who is very anxious that you should know how hep to the young folks' jive he is, except he's also a High Initiate, here to instruct us fortunate mundanes.

Yes, actually, i had noticed you had added this question to your "And?" post.

I don't have, or claim, any "initiatic status", or grade, not ever having been initiated into any order or other such organization, or been the student or chela of any High Holy Goo-Roo.

The fact these experienced people you look up to are leaving you looking like an idiot thinking the lbrp is shaking the walls would give most people a moments pause to reconsider what they think they're learning from them upon self-reflection.

The fact that you think I said the walls were literally shaking speaks volumes.

I thought you knew how trance states worked. And I never saw them shake. It was a comrade of mine who told me what he saw, afterwards. Get your reading comprehension straight.

Furthermore this was almost ten years ago, far before I was learning from anyone here, consciously.

I am not 'stuck' anywhere, thank you. I am Working. These things take Time.

This may astonish you, but they actually allowed 52 year olds to use computers and the internets even way back in 2011.

So i do actually know a played-out meme from almost 10 years ago when i see one.

I also know potential violations of the very broadly-written laws criminalizing hate-speech in your country, and in the UK, where the site is located, when i see them.

Your continued bigoted posts targeting and ridiculing people older than you arguably constitute a criminal offense within Canadian Criminal Code sec. 319.2, "Wilful promotion of hatred", in that you have (repeatedly) "communicat[ed] statements, other than in private conversation, [that] wilfully promote hatred against any identifiable group".

You can of course try the sec. 319.3(b) "religious opinion" defense, if you think you can convince a judge that all these memes and elder abuse constitute "an opinion on a religious subject or an opinion based on a belief in a religious text".

Or you may get to take a "break" for up to two years of prison time.

I believe the UK has quite similarly broad criminal hate-speech laws; if i'm correct, Paul may want to take legal advice based on just your posts of this nature today alone.

And ("Life Pro Tip") there is also the obvious sec. 16(1) "Defence [sic] of mental disorder."

I think you have a serious shot here; of course i don't practice law in British Columbia. You might want to find someone who does.

See, that wasn't so hard to admit that you're the LARPer and just taking out of your ass on the subject of initiation.

and you're spending way too much time on those websites that think Canada will haul people away for mispronouns if you think what you're saying is in any way intimidating.

My "real world" does include the ability to do basic legal research into criminal codes of common-law nations, yes (my only source of information is the Criminal Code section i linked to). I guess it is hard for a fantasist like you to imagine that a person could have a bunch of grad degrees, and also have been a hoodlum before that.

I will just have to try to live with myself, knowing that a habitual liar, and outdated meme fancier, in Vancouver does not want to be my friend.

Thank you. I was wondering how I'd get out of all this unpleasant disharmony. Since I have made public reference three times to my insanity, under some mid-Eastern law I am therefore exempted. Or liberated. Who will pay the court costs? Or will this be a class-action report of a criminal act?

Otherwise ...

Impressive compliance, Comrade Maple Leaf Sunrise Eighth Notes:

  • GIFs and link to lame synth-pop song remain in signature,
  • More "presumably intoxicated gibberish" (i think it's mental illness, but it continues),
  • Compulsive pointless posting continues, no apparent willingness to comply with the Guidelines.

On the plus side, no hate speech in that last post.

Many of the new atypical antipsychotics, along with a stiff dose of lithium, can really control the "delusions (for example, hearing voices), hallucinations, paranoia, or confused thoughts." Consider taking your meds. A long-acting injectable is an option your psychiatric treatment team should consider; this eliminates the whole issue of medication non-compliance and will eliminate these manic/florid episodes.

Please stop the visual assault per the flashing gifs that you have repeatedly posted...the thread is already epileptic inducing as it is and the techno wizardry of the atavistic star wars mind numb hero invocation does not help your arguments but just contributes to the fifth grade, as in primary school mud slinging at recess, that goes on with various characters lurking at the sandlot.

Perhaps a lock on this waste of bandwidth bit storage is the advice i will take...though the freshman philosophical paradox might be offered: If you shoot each other and no-one is a witness in the cyber forest, did said shootings happen, while the recipient of such bursts may have died of acute reflection of such laser bursts...you know sort of like being suicided by a shot to the back of the head? Indeed visual cortex overload is killing us all...

My last ironic post had a point.  There are just too many strange Dungeons and Dragons types who find their way to Crowley and the occult and become embroiled, obsessed with and lost in "attainment" or "grades" etc.  I have more respect for a soldier, a nightclub bouncer or a Karate teacher ie people who have walked the walk in the real world, hey what a coincidence I just described Chris, Ignant and Shiva.

Lo, our Choronzonic Canadian Comrade has shape-shifted yet again.

Maple Leaf Sunrise Eighth Notes is no more, and has condescended to use actual alphabetical letters for a forum name in posting his spiritual communiques to us earth-bound Trogs.

Maple Leaf Sunrise Eighth Notes is DEAD; ALL HAIL the Mighty Adept known among men as XON!!!!

And now the GIFs have been removed from his sig, but not the link to the lame-ass synth-pop song. What is so difficult about just doing as Paul asks? Or is this the hill upon which you will die?

"You will have to pry my synth-pop songs from my cold dead fingers- μολὼν λαβέ FTW!!!"

Take your meds, son.

And just noticed yet another new avatar- nice, my civil last name means "spiral". A signature of my domination of your little squirming worm of a mind?

Wow- talk about having a diabolical entity under control- i mention his avatar being a spiral; BOOM, it changes.

Documenting the "CHORONZON LIVE!!" show:

XON has left the building; ALL HAIL the Mighty Adept now known among men as (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ xon ♥!!!!

Avatar stable for now; banned synth-pop sig link defiantly remains.

In other words, his tiny mind is squirming furiously, like a leech that has had salt poured on it.

Comets have been hit and miss for personal spiritual significance in my experience. Hale-Bopp left me cold, literally, having gone out to the frozen countryside to view it. Jupiter's July 1994 encounter with SL9 preceded my learning about Thelema and the start of a lot of different magical work and experiences.

The above passage (from page 1 of this thread)  is where the fireworks started.  Xon is musing (publicly) upon his own epic spiritual awakenings involving him going into a remote place and getting off on watching a comet which triggered further epiphanies 'on the magical path';

As comets go on the magical path so far in this lifetime, most significantly for myself was the outburst of Comet Holmes 17P in 2007. Which immediately upon learning of its appearance provided an answer and resolution to some magical work over the previous year.

Could you be more specific here?  This is obviously some great personal epiphany for you which you have semi-shared with us the public.

Confirming the validity of the events, the divine nature of the message itself and heralded my experience of the Knowledge & Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel.

I'll bet it did.

Analogous to "returning to the Galactic Network", at solstice in December 2007 I was in the temple and the Star of Babalon was burning in the heavens above and I was given a message that I could step through the Gate and return anywhere and anytime in the universe at that moment. Lives and places were shown to me. One species and Galactic Network felt so much like home. It still calls to me. I turned it down then to finish work here. A honeymoon after the Second Wedding, perhaps.

I challenge any sane sensible person to read the above paragraph and keep a straight face.

Thinking about this has got me looking back over some of my posts on the forum around that time.

Halloween's Dead Crow and the Star Ruby sign stuff were plugged into the experience. Now I kind of want to update that Ruby thread with the latest.

Was I only one who clicked on that link in which our Gandalfian High Adept finds a dead crow in the road and picks it up?

So Xon, there have been trolls and nuts who have been rehabilitated on this forum when they took it on the chin and saw reason, Hell maybe I am one of them.   You in your Adepthood don't seem to be able to handle criticism or ridicule................ some Adept eh?

Maybe on your up and coming epic "magickal retirement" you could take a dictionary, check the  definition of the word 'pompous' and 'meditate' upon that.

There are just too many strange Dungeons and Dragons types who find their way to Crowley and the occult and become embroiled, obsessed with and lost in "attainment" or "grades" etc.

They also seem to gravitate towards domination and are overly familiar with demons. I blame the video game creators. I saw this mass obsession with illusionary violence coming a long time ago ... when it first started. There were reports of kids being on-game for extremely lengthy periods of time, with their social interaction and social skkill-set degenerating rapidly.

All that was decades ago. Today such obsession seems to be common and socially-acceptable, except it gets unacceptable to us older folks when curses start hurling through the delicate structure of the wild world web.

@xon :

I noticed you libelled labelled me in the same girly “parade” with all those who've recently had the temerity to be critical of your posts & cybernetic persona in one way or another, and probably if it had been e.g. dom doing it then rather than me, you’d have ended up inserting his name there instead. (However, we mustn't forget of course that dom usually waits to see which way the wind's blowing & for the safety of other people "piling on" to castigate some other poor unfortunate first. - Joke there, dom! [?]) .

But isn’t this criticism from 4(+) people telling you anything though, as you and your arguments certainly wouldn’t appear to be winning any popularity contests around here lately?  Whenever that sort of thing happens, it might be a good idea to first take a look at some of your own criticisms of others to see if there isn’t a hint of projection (transference) going on somewhere as well…

Posted by: @xon

That's going to be your ploy. yikes.

I don’t know what you mean by this here as there was no conscious intention of a “ploy” on my side at all.  A ploy to/ with what end?  Also, you should know that I don't approve, stylistically, of the exclamation/ expletive "yikes" either (yikes!).

Posted by: @xon

As someone else pointed out to you recently, jamie. Maybe you should learn to become an initiate.

I haven’t any recollection of this.  Who (else) pointed what out?  If your second sentence is connected to the first, how do you know that isn’t already what I’ve learnt to become?

Perhaps it might help things if you could let me know whatever it is you’re talking about: if you’re nurturing some sort of a criticism of me, bring it on in order that I may address it.  For instance, although I haven’t been able to log on (and/or post replies) every day myself, this is because of erratic broadband connectivity rather than some deliberate anti-narcissistic practice of abstemious lurking or withdrawal on my part.  Would this therefore still be able to count positively in your critical (crucial) appraisal of me though?

Terminally gasping for your approval and validation, and in trepidatious fear of being fed to Your Demon as a tid-bit (Not),

N Joy

Terminally gasping for your approval and validation

Is this found in the Wishful Thinking department, or the Let's Pretend basement?

It's "Not" to be found in either (as it applied to both parts of the sentence.)

Don't worry too much about it, dom!  Try a little bit harder with him, and maybe your turn will come...

Your picture was included in the Gang of Four picture, with the archetype having been lifted from The People's Republic of Hard-Working Folks ... back when, after Mao died. You may feel insulted via pictorial inclusion.

To feel really included, you have to be more prominent on the front lines. One must actively challenge the precepts or grade of someone who is waving a flag of illusion ... in order to gain full "insulted" status.

I don't know what to say

In case you got the wrong idea, I have nothing against you (or anyone else for that matter) and appreciate your non-forum-drama posts and the feedback you have given me, I just don't know what to say about this thread really. You may not like some of the guys here but they're not going to go away so wouldn't it be better to just try to get on with them?

Posted by: @ignant666

for example, hearing voices

Some guy wrote some book because of this, you might have heard of him (you, might have even read that book).

You have no idea how many lonely Russian women want to marry occult nerds; their marriage proposals, and offers of other favors, were incessant.

Now I really want PMs back.

Its more likely to be some fat bloke running a scamming operation from his "mom's basement".

The demon eats free advice. Even friendly suggestions. Take care.

Some guy wrote some book because of this [hearing a voices] ...

Good point. Here's the bottom line: We (anybody) gets to hear voices. The distinction to be made is ...

Does one get (proven) good guidance towards harmony and (eventually) peace/void/liberation ... or ... Does one get unproven stuff that turns out to be ego-centered or gibberish.

A third category allows for non-guidance formats, such as entertainment (music, internal dialoging, interstellar broadcasts (like Starseed).

The fourth category requires a prescription from your (anyone's) licensed physician. Try to get medical cannabis rather than those suicide-producing alternatives.

He doesn't care about the infrastructure (conveniently located in a basement), he wants to see the pictures of the virginal Russian prospectives.

..and yea I entered into a magical retreat far from the herd whereby in some farmer's field I gazed at a comet hurtling amidst various constellations.  These constellations called upon me to modify my magical technique and i was instructed in new ways which brought clarity about that time i found a dead crow in the road.  I felt the need to announce that a voice, well, more of a hunch or feeling, instructed me in my newly enlightened state (feeling good, nay, very good, nay illuminated) to relinquish the ways of my Dungeons and Dragons past and instead embrace real magickal powers the like of which i had never experienced.  The universe was opened up to me, clearly I had made the grade and could travel anywhere in this galaxy or outside into other realms like that character in my favourite X-Box Game.  It was time, yea time to announce my advancement to the hypocrites on the Lashtal forum but it would be nice if they accepted me hence my need to announce it in the first place, well, anyway......

In my renewed strength and vigour accumulated not only from recent illuminations but through years of vast spiritual experience and insight  I would make this announcement of my newly-acquired starry stature and not be affected by any scornful cynical comments from these jealous dogs of Reason and potential mockers...well, actually, no that last bit didn't happen as my Angel saw fit that i should instead squirm, get all pissed-off,  wallow in confusion and produce silly-assed gifs and irrelevant youtube links as a shield when confronted about my magical announcements.  I would also make an unclarified vague woolly if not non-existent challenge about something no one would actually know yea not even an illuminated Adept such as myself........

...but no matter, onwards!   I shall continue with The Great Feast....

Yes, to all you say. Dude has a very long-term history of posting silly things. Never seems to have posted any kind of Introduction, which is kind of a red flag.

One interesting point is that he never, ever once mentions being a member of an Indian Band (the Canadian legal term) "registered as such" until i challenged his swastika avatar. I won't claim to have read everything he ever posted, but i couldn't find any prior mention of this anyway.

And has never mentioned it again after dropping the swastika.

He is clearly a fantasist/nut. I had read the dead bird thing before, and the meteors/comets as personal space messages thing is classic paranoid schizo thinking.

What the actual fuck is meant by all this tethered/untethered "Grue" meets "V'ger" (apparently not the Star Trek entity but rather an androgyne owl/fish thing of the same name) stuff? These entities were created, he says, by some former lashtalians and released upon the world. Is it possible that an adult believes these things?

Maybe now that The Canadian Adept Who Has A Great Many Names Among Men has left the building and is no longer susceptible to being wound up, @djedi will explain, since he seems to have some idea, or his winding up would not have met such an eager and gullible response?

I gazed at a comet hurtling amidst various constellations.

Comets do not "hurtle." One can see them, in what seems to be the same location night and night. We know they "move,' pretty fast too, but the eye cannot detect the hurtling.

Please note that your post cause confusion an multiple polar switches before I realized you were doing the "recap" thing. You did a fine reconstruction. Seventh Level? Seventh Seal? Seventh Heaven?

More proof you did not really attain- you just can't see them hurtle, because you are not an Advanced Adept like the new V.V.V.V.V. ("Vi Veri Vancouver Vivus Vici" ("By the power of truth, I have, living, conquered Vancouver")).

I find all talk of "egregores" among occultists to be so tedious.  It's some sort of Chaos Magick bullshit.  In relation to that my theory is that teenage 'Dungeons and Dragons' club types reach a crossroad during puberty.  They either go on to become an occult-fantasist and/or a religious loonie or they buy a very long black leather jacket and some guns and then they shoot up the school.

You think Djedi was leading him on?  I hope so.

Yes, of course- @djedi is a lot smarter with a case-of-beer-and-pint-of-ether hangover, than Frater Hieroglyphics on his best day; he was leading him on to encourage to encourage further self-be-clowning.

I think you have an overly negative view of the D & D kids. My first encounter with it/them was early '80s when i went to stay with a GF at a super-elite college, where her whole dorm floor was almost entirely super-nerdy math/science kids who stayed up all night doing acid, and  playing D & D. They are all PhD bench scientists now.

My son is very into D & D. He does like shooting guns, but is an atheist (with A.'. A.'  seal and "Mark of the Beast" stickers on his laptop "because they look cool"). He has graduated high school (on Wednesday, in fact) without shooting the place up. In fact, he was the host/MC of his high school's filmed graduation at a local drive-in movie (each kid was filmed one by one in their cap and gown, my kid did his MCing from his room on his laptop camera).

Of course it is possible he will soon go nuts and become a "Jumping Jesus" as great-grandma used to call them.

Or shoot up his college campus this fall.

When he used to have his D & D pals over in junior high, i would walk in and say "So, how 's the Satan worship going?", because one kid was a home-schooler.

Wasted effort, as it turns out- parents home-schooled him because they are communists, not Xians. The kids always thought this was funny, and now D & D/Magic is referred to as "Satan worship" in our family dialect.
