Yes. And there is only one venue where said permanence can be found - it's often called, daily life.
If it doesn't stand the test of the world, it isn't real.
But are you one of the "Horus-type" ladies ? A general glimpse in your direction would seem to indicate yes."
I would agree with that.
said atrocities only seem to happen to ladies who do not do the work.
Which I assure you I do. 😊
Learn first how to Work, and The Great Work is not far beyond
and de Cultu's last statement, after listing the practices to perform, "And so shalt thou come to the End."
said atrocities only seem to happen to ladies who do not do the work.Which I assure you I do. 😊
So ... you have a chance to avoid the dustbin.
It should be noted that the same working principle applies to the yang gender. The non-working guys tend to get bigger heads, become important, and think about what other people should be doing.
The non-working ladies will exhibit a flash-bang fireworks show, followed by the revelation of cosmic femininity - but when the catalyst wears off, they find themselves hovering above the dreaded dustbin of history ... and so they take more medicine.
AL refers to If she leave my work ... (bad scenes follow). However, Therion dumped her - is that leaving my work ?
"And so shalt thou come to the End."
Oh, that !
@christibrany Thanks for reviving the thread....I have been dipping into the book, which I believe you may have suggested that I read in some thread...
Well I am quite astonished to actually read from Leah, Alostrael, herself, the book is interesting on many levels, and I will have to say from the outset that I take her at her written word when she wrote that she was not taking drugs.
The veracity of her statement is confirmed by the fact that she felt she was going to die, had not properly ate and slept for months and was smoking too many cigarettes...and having withdrawals will cause such symptoms and getting beat up by landlords does not help, all certainly what goes along with those who have been dumped...Lucky the books weren't lost.
What is interesting is that is her relation to the Work and her working through the whole complexities of role's and her role...in perhaps finding herself....was that why she ultimately went silent?!
I do love in one letter to AC she talks about their "conspiracy of silence"!
The non-working guys tend to get bigger heads, become important, and think about what other people should be doing.
We could mention names, but will not.
AL refers to If she leave my work ... (bad scenes follow). However, Therion dumped her - is that leaving my work ?
Ultimately, one makes the decision to leave the work. One can continue it or not, regardless of external circumstances. She could continue after being dumped, if she had the basis for practice.
The non-working ladies will exhibit a flash-bang fireworks show, followed by the revelation of cosmic femininity - but when the catalyst wears off, they find themselves hovering above the dreaded dustbin of history ... and so they take more medicine.
or become sex toys, though I that's kind of medicine too, the medicines are just created internally.
Leah's diaries show her dedication to the work and frustrations with AC.
This was my impression. It is my tentative conclusion that she was dedicated to the concepts and principles, but might have been lacking in the fundamental work like asana, dharana. It is particularly devastating when one's "position" is held intact and stable by a romantic guru relationship.
There comes a point (located somewhere around Paroketh) where every initiate of the Outer Order has do graduate or get evicted. I have witnessed a few graduations, but they are rare as gurus rarely want to set good students free. I have also witnessed a few evictions, or forced extractions. These can be better than a 50-page thread in the Octagon (in terms of action-adventure). The action actually takes place on the physical plane. Ceremonies and talismans may be employed.
So let's elevate this concept to the Inner Order, with overtones of Therion-Babalon, sustained with or by known addictive, as well as strange, drugs ... As i said earlier, she was lucky (or destined) to survive the experience. Whatever toxic or psychic withdrawal she had to undergo, she returned to Switzerland and taught school, all seemingly "normal."
It is my tentative conclusion that she was dedicated to the concepts and principles, but might have been lacking in the fundamental work like asana, dharana.
I would agree with your evaluation of the situation! Of course there were daily practices at the Abbey, as Jane Wolfe's diaries demonstrate, but maybe the SW, because she was the "SW", despite the flings with Nina Hammett, was elevated to the position merely because of her vacuum cleaning abilities, and the asana's so involved...and the ensuing heavy breathing providing points for pranayama.
(AC seemed to never have wrote something as crass as a sex positions book unless part of some secret papers)
It should be noted parenthetically, that pranayama could lead to asthma due to hyperventilation, the excess blowing off carbon dioxide to which Dr. Buteyko discover the role of that gas in those with asthma which the great beast suffered....and which in her diary, Leah complains about AC's voice, which she could no longer stand after he had an operation on his throat.
In Jane Wolfe's diaries she mentions, consistently doing, Asana, Dharana (consisting of a Twattwa visualization) and then Harpocrates (which is not explained) but obviously some sort of silent meditation perhaps in god form asana. There was also mention of doing 'Pentagram" which I recall was something done as a group...
Leah does not mention, but I have not read the whole book, doing these basic practices, in those Paris diaries.
Leah does not mention, but I have not read the whole book, doing these basic practices, in those Paris diaries.
Please, let us know if something comes up along these lines. I only mention this because in times of trauma or turmoil, the best remedy is to sit still, breathe deep (no holding, avoid internal carbonization), etc. These are not just "practices," they can be refuges ... and anyone can be a refugee.
Reading on I will note that she attempts to quit smoking cigarettes, writes to letters to all sorts, does I Ching readings and prepares and does various rituals with others, types up earlier diaries where she admits that her claims of dying were a "death stunt", she gets drunk, etc, etc...to which we find her confessing that the 'Pan Mantra' and invocation of RHK no longer works, that she does not know Adonai, and that the lines to Aiwass are not 'direct', from Nov 29, 1924 entry.
This admittance of failure, finds on December 1, 1924 the entry:
"I must take myself in hand. I begin by Asana and Pranayama" to which she notes "Buddha position" with deep breathing for a only 11 minutes before slight twitching.
She takes up daily I Ching readings by just opening up the book and not reading the purport, but what comes to her mind...there are more invocations of Nuit, Hadit, RHK, etc. more short asana sessions. (well she does time herself!)
On December 4, she says at 7:45 PM she was "Busy and drunk all day, I ANH[ALONIUM]. LEW[IONH] AT 2.20 PM-no noticeable effect but last night (2 dr[ops], taken at about 6 P.M. caused awful palp[itations], of [the] heart much later- This noted after the first time too. Todays was the 3rd go."
At 9PM she takes 1/2 Luminal as she can't sleep and another 1/2 at 10 and then a cigarette at 11.
This in near the end of the diary, she complains about lesbians coming around (unless they are under 20)
The diary ends with what she calls Chapter III of the Diary, noting
"What the morrow will bring I do not know but there is something new in store-that I am certain."
This should provide the proper minutes for a review.
"I must take myself in hand. I begin by Asana and Pranayama" to which she notes "Buddha position" with deep breathing for a only 11 minutes before slight twitching.
Aha! So here we find that she finds the secret to getting out of the mess she finds herself in. It seems this is the turning point that leads back to Switzerland.
This should provide the proper minutes for a review.
A review is hardly necessary in light of your minutes that lay out the story in adequate detail, hitting the key points that one (anyone) should remember in case they get dumped by a Magus or otherwise need to employ the I once was lost, but now I'm found ...
It should be noted that the Amazing Grace began with "I must take myself in hand ..." (This means she will give up sorrowing and do the work. Good show.
Leah Hirsig, the most educated and gifted of the Scarlet Women in Crowley's life, though shaken terribly by the death of her two children (one an infant and the other in the womb at the time), did not ultimately quit him after their split in 1924.
She went on to assist him as a secretary for years thereafter, even going with him to Thuringia later. Finally, after she was done with him for good, she returned to the States where she resumed teaching.
For many years I earnestly believed I was her magical child. My wife, however, has a stronger connection to her than I do; she also was acquainted with the Hirsig family long ago, and she was the one to whom they shared the information that Leah did not die until February 22nd, 1975.
My wife was also informed that Leah Hirsig stayed in NYC until at least the later 1960s, and that there is a photo of her meeting her son at Grand Central.
How anyone can possibly say exactly what she believed, is quite beyond me. After she returned to Switzerland, Leah taught music for a living until her death a few years afterward. There are plenty of reasons why one might lie about a checkered past, of course, so no one truly knows for certain.
Cheers!

For general cases, certainly...but here was a particularly special case, one of several in all the world; but out of those, she was singled out for one special reason: the Oath of Absolute Obedience (at the Ipsissimus Ritual).
The Oath he swore at that time bestowed upon her Absolute Authority. It was then that Apotheosis came via her Benediction. She was not a mere witness at that ceremony: she officiated.
This Oath of Absolute Obedience is a vital one in Thelemic History, in my opinion (for what it is currently worth).
Certainly, there is no disputing her grade of Magister Templi -- it's in the diaries. There is also no doubt that she was in contact with Aiwass (also in the diaries).
--777
Thanks for posting from Liber Aleph, relative to my question. When I learned 'Pentagram' it always included the sign of silence, the god form Harpocrates.
I guess my question came from noting from Jane Wolfe's diary, for example, as I opened the book randomly, I see her morning practice on Feb. 8 had 10:10-30 Asana, 10:30-45 Dharana and then 10;47-11:07 Harpocrates.
I seem to think that assuming a god form is a form of asana and dharana (perhaps).
So was she holding her finger against her lips, standing up, for 20 minutes?...well in this instance she does not that after 5 minutes she was interrupted and the practice was not satisfactory.
Certainly, there is no disputing her grade of Magister Templi -- it's in the diaries. There is also no doubt that she was in contact with Aiwass (also in the diaries).
While I do not want to refuse or discuss the claims you make about her, let's just say that from a (legal?) standpoint, to say that there "is no doubt" because something is "in the diaries" is as unconvincing as it gets.
to say that there "is no doubt" because something is "in the diaries" is as unconvincing as it gets.
That Crowley himself makes it clear in his diaries that he believes her to be a Magister Templi, and was in contact with Aiwass -- is in my opinion some pretty convincing evidence for it.

I had the same thought, but held my piece, it (then) being late at night.
It is difficult to picture/imagine the vehicle of a Magister breaking down as it did, after the Svengali influence of Therion was removed. Although some rather shabby conditions often attend the vehicles of brilliant stars, after they had shone their light (Crowley, Tesla, Nietzsche, Bonaparte, Oppenheimer ... etc), they usually manage to continue their work or their ideology. But NONE of the Scarelet Women went on, debased or exalted, to continue the Work and become a Star in her own right-rite.
NONE of the Scarelet Women went on, debased or exalted, to continue the Work and become a Star in her own right-rite.
It is, I think, a little soon to know that for certain: after all, if the paranormal aspects of Thelema are reality -- and we go on to work in the afterlife behind the scenes of life -- then who is to say that all of them are done yet? Maybe Leah Hirsig -- or the essence of her -- remains, inspiring and even manipulating or employing others, now or in times to come, to carry out her plans.
The whole of Aleister Crowley's unique and unusual milieu of doctrine and practice is very much in agreement with this idea. The Scarlet Woman, not the Beast or Apostle, is the centre of Thelemic power; and it is he that draws benefit from her, not vice versa. His masterpieces drew inspiration and execution as a consequence of his link with the Scarlet Woman and her contact with Aiwass.
-777
Anyway, these aren't my ideas: they're Aleister Crowley's ideas. A bit fantastical and bizarre, they most certainly are; but there is some possibility, in my opinion -- take it or leave it -- that there is a tiny thread of truth in this coat of many colors.
Who knows? I believe that there is a bunch more to all this than we know, and that we'll find out eventually.
Cheers,

I had the same thought, but held my piece, it (then) being late at night.
I am glad that you held your "piece" late at night...
It is nice to see two different views on the subject, to which I might add a third, that being in-between.
I am sure that having helped AC attain Ipissimus, what ever that means....it can be argued, against her detractors, that she did continue the work after it all.....she kept silent until her death!
then who is to say that all of them are done yet?
I will, and have, but will reconsider my view upon submission of evidence.
The continuation after the physical drops off is not theoretical, in my mind and in my antireligion. What continues was already there before our birthing, and will be hanging around in this body or that until the wheel of rebirth is broken or dissolved ... but that's not you or me, or the red ladies. We are all just vehicles for that "reincarnating soul" (Oriental term).

The momentum of determination was strong with her; let's just wait and see what happens.
I believe the author of Liber Legis to be Aiwaz; and the prophecies of Aiwaz have yet to be fully satisfied. I do think that much, much more is on the way! I do very much believe so.
Such an exciting magical world that Aleister Crowley and his Oracles left behind for us!
Cheers,

[L]et's just wait and see what happens.
Wait for what? It has been 48 years since she died in 1975, having rejected Thelema/AC decades before that.

All that it takes is for the right person(s) to come along and take up her thread. You may see that unlikely, or not, but from my perspective, it seems not merely possible, but certain. Call me crazy -- maybe I am, I mean, I had a hemorragic stroke, so it's more than a little possible at this point -- hell, man, I wouldn't blame you a bit; anyway, I really do have a very strong feeling that the events foretold in AL, 3:34 are going to change everything:
"when Hrumachis shall arise and the double-wanded one assume my throne and
place. Another prophet shall arise, and bring fresh fever from the skies; another woman shall awake the lust & worship of the Snake; another soul of God and beast shall
mingle in the globèd priest; another sacrifice shall stain the tomb; another king shall reign; and blessing no longer be poured To the Hawk-headed mystical Lord!"
Agape,

For the record, Leah Hirsig never disavowed Thelema: she disavowed Crowley, but he deserved it, and besides, he transferred all spiritual Authority to her when he swore to her that Oath.
In her later diaries, she expressed her firm desire to scrap Crowley's whole system and to rebuild an entirely new one. Is it possible that her will might carry on -- perhaps in others -- and that destiny might push them on?
I don't think that Crowley would mind one bit, if this Magical Revival were the plan of Aiwaz in the first place.
Cheers,

(sorry for double-posting)
I just performed an evocation of Betty Crocker who revealed to me that I am indeed her Magickal Chili. My coming has been prepared for aeons by the Secret Chefs.
I certainly hope that finally clears that up.
I just wanted to call attention to this 2007 post, by a ?banned? person called "subrosa", from the first page of the thread.
I am somewhat upset at never having thought of "Secret Chefs" myself.
"Magickal Chili" is also very good, and a possible indication that "subrosa" was American, or at least not a Brit ,as i believe they spell it "Chilli" with two Ls, being foreign, and thus mistaken about many things. "Betty Crocker" is a US brand of cake mix, in case they don't have than over in Foreign-Land.
I do apologize if, in my excitement, my torrent of ramblings came across as similar to that.
It's pretty obvious that I have some feelings for Leah Hirsig. I've studied her extensively over the years, not knowing why I was so obsessed, until this past year. I now do know why; but that should remain for me to know, for now. I can say this much: it's a really amazing little story, and if I live long enough, I plan to write it up. If not, my wife is much younger than I, and she's a better writer than I!
Cheers,

Certainly was not "Betty Crocker"/"Secret Chefs"-ing you, @aleisterion, but rather merely calling attention to some previous witty posting.
My impression that she de-Thelemiified was rooted in Sutin's claim that she died a Roman Catholic, attributed to Symonds, but i can find no trace of this claim in the latter's The Great Beast.

It isn't in King of the Shadow Realm either, to my knowledge.
I believe the author of Liber Legis to be Aiwaz
The counterpoint to this is expressed by folks who "believe" Perdurabo's animus or "higher self" did the talking, and not an independent entity.
Wait for what?
We won't know ;til we see what happens.
Osirian religious dogmaha is based on the same thing. "Tomorrow, tomorrow - you're only one day away ..."
Be Here Now is a prerequisite to entering Dzogchem, The Great Perfection. Thelema, in general, is an intellectual fabrication associated with the eighth vehicle of Bon, which is pretty high up there and my be mentally associated with The Chokmah Chateau.
Most importantly, almost a cosmic imperative with Imprimatur from The Most High, is the fact that AL gives hints and open statements that point to, or describe immersion in, The Great Perfection.
(Among my loose ends, I plan to extract said hints and involvements into a meaningful sub-doc)
All that it takes is for the right person(s) to come along and take up her thread.
True. But "her" was merely a vehicle made of dust like most of us. I would agree with All that it takes is for the right person(s) to come along and take up her position, and that of a few others, here and there, before and after Alostrael [sic?]. and in spheres of influence other than the force field of Therion that manifested his opposite.
That is, it has been my astonished pleasure to have close encounters of the third kind with Asi (the Priestess of the Silver Star). Babalon, Hathoor, Nuit, and Maat (this one can allow one to finally get out on more than a temporary basis). More than one vehicle has availed itself in relation to certain AEgyptian Archetypes, and the dots are blurred to avoid connections.
Two of these (vehicles) went on to establish themselves as "authorities" based on themselves and not some Svengali. Two entered mundane society in partnership with a vampire, and they went through the cold dark streets syndrome. Two entered full time drug problems (no, not heroin) with mind-boggling life-situations verging on maddness. I cite all this to illustrate that I am at least pretending to know what I am talking about. First-hand, hands-on, observation, not reading diaries or listening to third parties (not that those endeavors are sins).
(I suppose I should write out the details in a book of its own - but then I might become disenfranchised by The Tong for revealing "their" secrets, so it'll be scheduled for the PG-13 format, which is what I use here in the forums)
"... and blessing no longer be poured To the Hawk-headed mystical Lord!"
Aha! So you've been lurking on the other side all along. Well, the twin warriors are hanging out beneath the pillars of the universe, smoking legal medical or recreational cannabis, and their outer selves are gathering a massive yin-yang differentiations in Nations, States, Families, Tongs, and us, the individuals. Horus and Set are building up a great big deal, already being fought out (as in Ch 3) in certain well-known hot-spots, somewhere ... with other heavyweights and lightweights shifting alliances on the chessboard, everywhere!
And inside us, too.
I subscribe to the Aeon of Hrumachis, and look forward to its arrival ... if only we can get the pesky warlords tranquilized before they break the wheel of the Aeons by blowing the sphere into aster-oids.
Aliana, my wonderful wife of 20+ years, suggested that I should point out how much of a musical person that Leah Hirsig was! She worked in Switzerland as a music teacher, and loved to sing as well (see attachment for a recording of Leah actually singing!). She did have a very lovely singing voice.
p.s. I wonder what she thought of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

As the gents from COIL were in with Bill Breeze and others "in the know," I'll guess the sound swatch is legit if thus attributed.
The singing feels very old school (which, of course, it is). Pre-rock and roll. Like Crowley. What would AC have
thought of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
He may have shared the views of Kenneth Grant who loved jazz but, apparently, disliked the modern rock.
I've gone through various stages of assessing AC. When he first appeared in my own sphere, Ozzy had already released "Mr. Crowley." We all saw Old Bullethead as this sinister yet alluring figure. How many noticed the garish and flamboyant bow tie he was wearing? It changes the idea of what he may have been trying to express in that iconic photo.
I'm reminded of Charles Manson during an interview where he also decried the rock music of his young followers and said he was "Bing Crosby." If you listen to Manson's music, there is no "rock and roll." He wanted to be one of the crooners.
The culture of our beloved gang was very different from that through we which may tend to see them.
Thanks for the link to this recording. I'd be interested to know if there was any context for the event of Leah being recorded.
Pre-rock and roll. Like Crowley.
As a young adolescent, I was pre-r&r. hen it happened. I heard it happened. It was Rock Around The Clock. A new era was then swiftly ushered in.

I never did the jitterbug in my life, so that wasn't me. I am probably one of the spectators in the background. I was there - watching - I didn't do it (that came later).
For general cases, certainly...but here was a particularly special case,
Indeed so. I was just pointing out that the reference could simply be alluding to one of the foundational practices of Thelema. The De Cultu regimen makes up a minimum daily practice for Thelemites.
So was she holding her finger against her lips, standing up, for 20 minutes
Not necessarily, perhaps more dhyana while maintaining the visualization of the egg around her? Pentagram and Harpocrates are basically banishing and shielding, a good preliminary practice before meditation.

I've always been intrigued by this line. Would anyone like to share their thoughts on it?
I see in this an anticipation of change-over (on that Grand Aeonic Scale) in context of the zoomorphic forms favored in the Egyptian Magical Aesthetic.
We might also understand "God and Beast" as an expression of "As above, so Below."
The "globed priest" is always Hadit (or his/its rep)-which is an abstract idea of the Infinite in Time, the Endless manifest in Space.
In Voodoo, the human possessed of the Loa (or God) is called a "horse." It is the creative beastly power serving as a vessel for the Higher Consciousness.
There is a type of "equation" expressed here. It's not about the "lower" being subjugated to the "higher." It's about the Inspiration taking Form-which is another way of saying Do What Thou Wilt.
Cosmic Will will take many forms, sometimes expressing the evolutionary trends of the Zeitgeist and sometimes resisting it, shooting past. Even the former times ripple with the Mark of Will in resonance with Ages to come.
Crowley expresses this in Liber Aleph wherein he makes Thelema tantamount to the "Tao Restored."
The Tao emerges in the "Aeon of Isis." We might reasonably expect the "Aeon of Osiris" to then jump forward and manifest an enlightened expression in the Aeon of Ma'at. This may explain Frater Achad's curious dalliance with the Roman Catholic Church.
Regardless, we are all Hadit as Moments in Time, related to the Body of Nuit. We are "beasts" in some sort of resonance with the "soul of God."
Anothe book/form inner/outer synchro ...
I've always been intrigued by this line. Would anyone like to share their thoughts on it?
I have no thoughts left. They have all been transported onto paper, or digits, in 9D, over the past few days. Then you ask about the very subject I have been transposing . So I don't need to write anything here, as it's already been revealed. Too bad I can't remember the details.
Oh. wait ! We can always consult the "proof" that is required to accompany all claims, at ...
Crowley expresses this in Liber Aleph wherein he makes Thelema tantamount to the "Tao Restored."
Your interpretation covers the bases and is in accord with Liber 9D, even with some phrases being copied from the same source, which indicates that Aiwass flashed the same thing into both of our minds, perhaps simultaneously.
AC only did a minor exploration into Tao stuff. His Yi King and Tao Teh Ching were just re-writes of existing translations, with Thelema or Will words and phrases inserted. I am not decrying these works, but I just never consult them any more.
There is no need to confuse ...
- Aspiration to do one's Will,
- Doing one's Will. and
- Tao/Wu-Wei
The Aspiration phase runs from Probationer to Chesed
The Doing part is intermittent at best, and really never installed as a permanent factor in the poor, struggling, physical vehicle. It (the Will connecting point), being the yang Atmic [atomic] zap of Chokmah, has a tendency to disrupt or fry certain aspects of the dense vehicle. When it is functioning, there is a loss of certain common aspects of the vehicle, including the basic emotions (fear, joy, anger, thinking, and sorrow), and the basic thought patterns ("what if?," "how come ?," "where next ?"), with a sense of flowing.
This state is often described as being devoid of ego, or of self-awareness. This should never be interpreted as loss of consciousness, or even of awareness. The parts of the vehicle that are not necessary when riding in The Chariot of the Higher Self simply do not function. The practical applications of this shift have been illustrated in great detai8l by Igmant and myself, by extolling tales of bicycle flowing, combat finishing, and race-car maneuvering.
Any reader may note that these are all dangerous occupations but, yes, playing it on the edge with potential instant termination is one way to engage in Wu-wei, but that is not my recommendation. Ignant and I simply found ourselves in our respective states in the normal course of daily living on planet Earth - we did not set out to enter danger in order to enter the Wei. For that sort of thing (close endangermants), please inquire of Chris, who includes this sort of thing in his hobbies.
Yeah, synchronizing one's one-pointed dynamic with the Universal Will (the thou) is to engage the cosmic overdrive, also known as Wu-wei, which is often described as being One with the Tao.
I scribble and pound the above because this stuff is supposed to be unexplainable ... I figure that applies to swine, beasts of burden, and average humanity, and certainly the low men. LAShTAL readers, Bodhisattvas, even those with only minor character disorders, will easily understand every word because they have had the experience - maybe it was chemically-induced, no matter, as long as one remembers the experience.
We are "beasts" in some sort of resonance with the "soul of God."
This is correct, in accordance with 9D, and will surely be accepted as your 7=4 thesis, without need to add any commentary, explanations, references, or illustrations. If you need a follower, so that you can be the leader of your school of thought, I will volunteer.
Note that we are classified as "animal" in the animal-vegetable-mineral triadic classification. Some people like to add spiritual, and that opens the door to full manifestation of your thesis.
The "some sort" of resonance is defined by the ladder-Tree we know so well. and of course by other parallel interpretations of the same configuration.
I see in this an anticipation of change-over (on that Grand Aeonic Scale) in context of the zoomorphic forms favored in the Egyptian Magical Aesthetic.

Thank you for your response. Interesting interpretation! Similar to my own, though I interpret the mingled souls as union of the HGA and what some may call the LGA, the modern interpretation of the sheut, or other things, the latter being an aspect that can be brought under Will be acceptance and incorporated in a positive and beneficial way, rather than the Osirian approach of rejection and condemnation.
We might reasonably expect the "Aeon of Osiris" to then jump forward and manifest an enlightened expression in the Aeon of Ma'at.
This intrigues me, could you elaborate a little more on it?
Then you ask about the very subject I have been transposing
What a delightful synchronicity!

Thanks for the link to this recording. I'd be interested to know if there was any context for the event of Leah being recorded.
All that I know about it is that the song she sings in that clip was first released in 1934, when (I believe) she was still serving as Crowley's scribe/assistant in Europe. The song is titled "For All We Know", and was covered multiple times over the decades, but honestly, hers is the sultriest and creepiest of them all. She had a real talent there with that voice, in my opinion.
You're welcome for sharing the clip! I should have shared it sooner. It's amazing to actually listen to her voice! She may not have been the most popular Scarlet Woman, but her work was great, her ideas I cherish, and her embodiment of Babalon indisputable - I mean, she was the epitome of Babalon at the Abbey of Thelema itself, and again, sole officiant at the Ipsissimus Ceremony of the Beast.
Here's another gift to the forum, an animated image of Leah:
Cheers!

Oh, wait ! Call 911.
However, in the earlier stages, the dhyana will produce a blackout. So never say never, as consciousness and awareness, and everything else, goes black ... including any sense of one's self.
Later (on the path), this empty space/place takes on a different presentation.
Years ago, I was sent a copy of Leah's diaries in her own handwriting. I really need to revisit these and give them a new consideration but I do very strongly remember my first impression:
She seemed like someone who got sucked into Crowley's game. She was the "Scarlet Woman." Well, that was all part of the Cult-Show Crowley was running. It fed Crowley's needs and appealed to that of many others.
Leah seemed simple to me. She gave the impression of an abused person, psychologically manipulated (by her own complexes and Crowley playing off them). It doesn't matter that she was a "teacher." It doesn't take a rocket scientist to teach at a certain level. Nor does a command of a curriculum imply stability, sanity or even creativity.
Crowley seemed to treat her like shit-and then he ate her shit. This is all so in line with the Sado-Masochism of Aleister Crowley, isn't it? Crowley's own words regarding his "Mandarin Meal" don't speak to turning lead into gold. No, he seems to have trouble scarfing it down and it's an awful experience. But one he was up to in his need to be debased.
As I understood, after being made a sickly whore at the "Abbey," Leah eventually rejected the Cult and tried to pull her life together. Crowley would go on and on, leaving a "body count" of "failed" Scarlet Women.
THEY all sucked because of "reasons." Crowley remained "The Prophet," Mr. Big Britches.
And here I was, just about to get back into my love for Aleister Crowley the Mystic-Genius-Poet.
Now he's the "Demon Crowley" again.
Alesiterion, I wish to say that I am open to other perspectives. I certainly respect your views. I will be happily corrected if I am wrong.
But I don't buy Crowley's claims to be "Ipsissimus" in some event with Leah Hirsig.
The subsequent events of Crowley's life describe a guy struggling and trundling along...with lots of sickness and phlegm and want. Crowley pre and post "I" really isn't very different. He just claims a new title.
"Ipsissimus" is, of course, the big ultra-crown AC wants to wear. But it belongs to no one. As Kenneth Grant would say...there is no one it could belong to.
Leah Hirsig was just another person in a cult who Crowley used-and abused. She eventually got out. Because it sucked.
Her singing is of interest to us because we're the minutia driven members of the AC Society. But she's no Fiona Apple. Certainly, no Sinead O'Connor...or anyone of note.
I wish her Eternal Being peace as she follows her Bliss.
I just don't think that Bliss is going to be with Aleister Crowley.
@kidneyhawk Just a little bit down in the dumps today, or what?! Yours is a view of the situation in Sicily, of Crowley, and of Leah, that I just don't see. I know all about the horrendous living conditions, the terrible things going on there, and so on as you describe. But I would never presume to correct you, good sir - I happen to like you a great deal. I very much respect your opinion. I just think differently of Aleister Crowley, of Leah Hirsig, and the whole situation. I love the ideas that Leah came up with in 1924, after deciding that she would start anew! She was insightful, brilliant, and strong.
I think - from what little I know for certain - that there will be some good that comes from all that madness.
I know what went on there. It isn't good; but Agape is coming!
Cheers,

This would be the low-water-mark definition of the relationship.

Crowley's own words regarding his "Mandarin Meal" don't speak to turning lead into gold.
Let's face the facts. Crowley was Western Civ's version of an Aghori.
Wiki tells us ... "Aghoris usually engage in post-mortem rituals, often dwell in charnel grounds, smear cremation ashes on their bodies, and use bones from human corpses for crafting kapala (skull cups - which Shiva and other Hindu deities are often iconically depicted holding or using) and jewelry."
From an early time, he moved head-on into anything he found disgusting. This type of activity is inherent in the A.'.A.'. oaths (wherein one swears to equilibrate vacillation, attraction/repulsion, etc).
As I understood, after being made a sickly whore at the "Abbey," Leah eventually rejected the Cult and tried to pull her life together. Crowley would go on and on, leaving a "body count" of "failed" Scarlet Women.
This is also my understanding. Perhaps we are both ...
Just a little bit down in the dumps today, or what?!
It seems you are trying to elevate Leah into the image of an accomplished initiate, or someone who has been overlooked in her extraordinary accomplishments, or something like that.
But you are apparently the only person expressing this point of view. Any undeclared reader may now declare their viewpoint to proove me wrong.
And here I was, just about to get back into my love for Aleister Crowley the Mystic-Genius-Poet.
I never dug the poet. The superficial persona was beastly. His philosophy/commentaries are riddled with opposites and driven by his first circuit (the beast survival circuit in everyone) which is where the sex-drive is hidden.
But we are told to not believe or emulate him, and to rather just do the work and find out for ourselves what is true or really real. For that reason, I recommend the Class D Libers ... while recognizing and setting aside the atrocities.
But I don't buy Crowley's claims to be "Ipsissimus" in some event with Leah Hirsig.
He never openly "claimed" Ip. That would be against the rules of the One Star. He just hinted at it whenever possible. I have laid out how this works, previously, in other threads. One does the ritual (any grade) on the physical plane, using strange meds to enhance the ordeal if required, either alone or in a group in some secluded oasis, then one sits down to Waite.
The actual real genuine initiation always comes later. His diary of '24 (99 years on the wall, in France I think?) says, "To put it simply, I died." That's it. He had accomplished the Great Work, announced his Word, published The Equinoxes, and [according to Symonds] he requested that he be allowed to continue his work (promulgating Thelema). It is customary for one to die and not come back, at this grade. It is akin to "being taken up into Heaven by God without dying," what a title for a book.
Bailey tells us that ALL the Chohans taking this grade were supposed to have moved on at the time of their initiation, but that ALL of them have agreed to stay on for a while, due to (you know) the world crisis.
So, yeah, in my mind, and according to the data, I'd give him an Ip, but with reservations, which are ...
1. He chose to continue the work, thus he continued to manifest the best and cause endless trouble - which he did on purpose (see Liber Aleph), and so his persona did not change into what might be called an Ip.
2. The only examples of Ips that I know of, who did NOT continue tooting their agenda, but lived on, would be Ramana Maharshi and U.G. I have also witnessed an Ip in manifestation (previously reported several times), and Crowley did not appear to manifest the non-attachment of these fellows.
But then, I wasn't with him, so this is all just my opinion ... like everybody else who makes claims without proof.
The subsequent events of Crowley's life describe a guy struggling and trundling along...with lots of sickness and phlegm and want.
This is correct.
As Kenneth Grant would say...there is no one it could belong to.
This is because it is extraterrestrial. That is, the ring-pass-not of Earth no longer influences the unit. The unit has dissolved, it one may choose to coagulate in form - this is the so-called Body of Light, which should not be confused with the astral body or the causal body.
Leah Hirsig was just another person in a cult who Crowley used-and abused. She eventually got out.
Yeah.
But she did have that magnetic-ecstatic characteristic behind her outer persona. Such ladies are extraordinary in their ability to take even a small amount of a strange drug and then manifest a goddess.
As noted, I have encountered a few of this type (and they are not common), and they tend to run a course of manifestation, with time finally severing the party, and unhappy circumstances then follow.
I just think differently of Aleister Crowley, of Leah Hirsig, and the whole situation.
This is apparent.
We are able to view the scenario from the viewpoint of The Three Worlds (physical, emotional, mental - all below Paroketh), which is apparently horrendous ...
... or we can look at the psychological depth wherein a beast is mingled with a godhead and there's no need to clean house or be civil when that is going on. There are points where Leah encourages Aleister to go on, because he's about to crack under the strain.
And then there is a third viewpoint, mine, which says The Cairo Reception Story and The Cefalu Homestead Review are very interesting, and both are subject to at least two parallel movies, one for PG-13 and one for X, but really each one of us should be tending our own Abbey of Thelerma, Hall of Maat, or Empty Shrine of Nirmanakaya.
I think - from what little I know for certain - that there will be some good that comes from all that madness.
Your certainty is noted. It is like an opinion of mine or KH's. When your vision comes true, please appear here, with or without your attorney, to provide "proof," which is real and not wishful-thinking.
I know what went on there. It isn't good; but Agape is coming!
This is unitelligible in its obscurity, so commenting is not possible.
Your certainty is noted. It is like an opinion of mine or KH's. When your vision comes true, please appear here, with or without your attorney, to provide "proof," which is real and not wishful-thinking.
I'm just saying what I know: that the completion of Crowley's prophecies are on the horizon. In fewer than 20 years. I won't be here to see it, but I know it.
Aleister Crowley was not merely brilliant, he was a genius of a rare order. That will be obvious in time, I think, if it isn't already.
With all that I've experienced, I'm completely at peace now, no matter what actually happens; and I can hardly wait for my next Great Adventure!
Finally then, unkind sir, I wish you well on your way, whatever that is. I've no urgency to follow your instructions: why you would think it okay to give them I have no idea. You are mildly insulting, obviously, and I've handled far worthier without a problem, but frankly I haven't the time or energy to deal with your puerility.
Agape,

I've no urgency to follow your instructions: why you would think it okay to give them I have no idea.
The idea revolves around a judiciary meme, sometimes referred to as The Grand Tribunal. Anytime anybody makes a claim, or (really gets insulting, they are asked to provide "proof." You have made several claims of certainty and knowing, in regard to Leah and AC, without stating any thing specific, except "her work" and "his propecies."
So, since you are carrying on like a star-struck new-agern (I mean this as the persona you are projecting in your posts, not as an insult or even a dirty joke), I assumed the somewhat official mask of a person in authority and asked you to come back with "proof" of unidentifiable predictions. I tend to do this same act with anyone and everyone who predicts, claims, or wishes.
My prior response was presented in tongue-in-cheek mode, and I have pleaded guilty many times on these threads to being an agent of sarcasm. Sometimes (a lot) people miss the point, or my humor is too dry, and they exhibit emotional reactions. Sometimes the point hits home, and they exhibit emotional reactions. Anybody regular around here knows that this is a standard feature.
Let me drop the game and the persona. You have stated that you know what went on at Cefalu. This is dangling a carrot. I must therefore inquire, What went on at Cefalu that we (others) do not know?
There. A simple question.
What went on at Cefalu that we (others) do not know?
Okay, I don't wish to derail this lovely thread, so just once more: the really significant event which took place at Villa Santa Barbara, is actually common knowledge, but nobody has even noticed the import of it yet.
It's all right there in the open, but nobody has realized the significance of it at all. That's all that I can say about it, for now, so you may return to the subject of Leah Hirsig, if you will.
The subject is too detailed to just say it. But it's common knowledge. My wife is planning to write a book on it, so I simply can't say more on that.
Cheers,
777
... so I simply can't say more on that.
Thank you for the overview of what you are peri-scribing ("writing around"). The "it" that is open knowledge is too complex to describe in simple terms, but an attempt to explain "it" is under contemplation. RTC is known to use similar style of revelation, and the only solution is to wait patiently. I used to have paitins waiting to see me, and I have been a waiting patient myself, and the others here understand the procedure..
Returning from clearing up the picture, we find Leah exhalted at Cefalu, then demoted from priestess to private secretary, then finally finding the key to ...
Thou hast become an Initiate. Get Out !
