93!

A short interlude of completely useless Crowleyanism:

Recently I designed film titles for a German/Spanish production. The director insisted on handwritten titles. Now there are two facts about such a wish: 1) Most computer-generated handwritten fonts look at best computer-generated, mostly they look just plainly bad. 2) My own handwriting sucks even more. Being a fan and amateur-decipherer of Crowley's handwriting I decided to let AC do the titles. Now I find the results pretty convincing so I thought I shared this rare piece of "Aleister Crowley appearance in the media". I am currently working on an Open Font Set of his handwriting (for those of us who like to have personalized messages from the Beast) but since I have at least six variants of each character which must all correspond contact-wise which each other this is taking some more time.

Anyway, here are some pics of AC's work:

Enjoy, or not and browse on.

Brilliant!

I agree about normal handwriting fonts and I am surprised you have as few as six variants per character.

Have you ever seen a Chinaman sending a text message? Chinese has many symbols but relatively few possible utterances because each sound may mean many things. So they express what is wanted in Roman alphabet then press a button and are presented with up to a dozen choices.

Anyway, good luck.

OK

93, OK!

What I wanted to say is that the Open Font will have six alternatives for each character (those of you who know open font will know how to switch between them while typesetting a text). With Crowley's original handwriting we of course have hundreds of variants depending on his age, his mood and of course the varying satuation degree of substances in his bloodstream.

Wouldn't think of that. And wouldn't have the need to do so since I just found a letter from AC making me head of the OTO.

Then Hymenaeus Gamma, make me a IX, please! I published the secret in 2012 in Ch. 96 of my book "The Book of Truths" 😀 Seriously though, I really like your program. I would love to use it to type up my magical diaries! 🙂
