Other Like Me The Oral History of COUM Transmissions and Throbbing Gristle - YouTube

Very good documentary on Genesis P.Orridge, Cosey Fanni Tutti and their 'hippy' drop- out theatrical art-group known as  Cosmic Organicism of the Universal Molecular (a name inspired by one of G.P.O.'S early 70s euphoric trips/experiences specifically induced by sunlight flickering through a forest during a car ride with his parents.)   The piece documents how COUM mutated into a mid 70s avant garde sonic experiment known as Throbbing Gristle.  This direction was suggested to G.P.O. by his friend William Burroughs (but that info is not referenced  here but elsewhere).  Here's some photo excerpts;

A fine example of apophasis aka parlepsis, the rhetorical method of saying a thing by saying we will not say it.

By the way if anyone does get around to watching the documentary I'm willing to discuss the subjects therein I've watched it about three times and picked up a lot of new knowledge about G.P.O.'s history.

This documentary then tells the story of Dadaist British 'hippy' drop outs in the 60s/70s basically.  Pretty funny in that 'dropping out' under bleak grey cloudy skies, drizzle, the cold and amidst sprawling masses of built-up bad housing and dilapidated industrial zones is not exactly as glamorous as doing it in sunny Death Valley, California.  However like the Mansons they went on food runs i.e. rummaged through supermarket food-bins for food.  The British government used to give money to fledgling artists, I don't know if that stopped during the junta in the 80s but the COUM gang claimed art grants.  Orridge also claimed welfare.  Some other commune members (illegal squatters?) resorted to crime to acquire this or that.  Finally Cosey succumbed and got a job in a paint factory to bring in income for the boys (would've loved to been a fly on the wall at that job interview.  Imagine that, "So Christine, what have you been up to then since you left university?". ).  She also found the untidiness in the commune intolerable and began cleaning up after the boys.  Very interesting, a common trait amongst hippy communes where the women capitulated and emulated the obedient roles of the mothers (hence the birth of the Feminist movement).

Lovely Northern lass Cosey (a university graduate (art) from Hull university i believe) was involved in art projects based on media control, the feedback loop was complete when she actually got involved for real in making money from pushing her naked body photos out there in seedy men's magazines such as Men Only (think skanky downmarket  British lower class version of Playboy magazine),yes, she used pseudonyms such as Tessa from Sunderland.  Hilarious stuff.  Anyway there's not much mention of magick and Crowley only for Burroughs and his cut-up exercises (sort of early chaos magick prototype). Orridge claims that he struck up a good friendship with Burroughs.  Actually, strictly speaking,  there is a reference to King Asmodeus, a Goetic entity, Orridge or someone named a light show after him but that isn't elaborated on.  Presumably then Orridge wasn't just a drug shaman come confrontational street artist in the early 70s and did know his Crowley.  I don't know. It has to be said that on one the gang references Orrdige's serious temper tantrums and Cosey refuses to comment on such matters when pushed.  More of that here https://www.lashtal.com/forums/stuff/temple-ov-psychick-youth-an-abusive-cult/ if you're interested.

A link or torrent to the full version (1h 22m theatrical release) as opposed to the TV edition would be good.

I seem to recall Brion Gysin or somebody had the flickering whilst travelling in a vehicle (from reading Magical World of William Burroughs)?

After reading Art Sex Music I wouldn't really trust much of what GPO says.

That should be said,

Why?  Which specific pieces of information gathered in that book you cite led you down that path of dismissal?
