I am hoping that all these related topics could be discussed here, and here only, so literally every other topic is not derailed with posts, and then counter-posts, about @xon's titanic ego, and his many issues.

And just to start the ball rolling, @kidneyhawk has never struck me as the least bit nuts, but @xon seems to claim that kidneyhawk, and several other adepts who were posters here at the time, in ?2007 created an egregore called "V'ger" (which is, including the apostrophe, also the name of some AI in some Star Trek movie), which is the owl-bat-reptile-Baphomet painting kidneyhawk made that has been in several threads recently.

"V'ger" has gone to British Columbia and done things unknown. Xon now seeks "Balance" through contact with those who released "V'ger" on the world, as part of his work towards his 7=4. Also there will be cosmic events October ?23 related to V'ger.

WTF?

WTF?

I have kept my distance recently from the antagonisms of agony (A.'.A.'.), and from afar (I moved back 2" from the screen) I bring these messages ...

1.There are terms in this paradigm that need translation. Is the Grue a cosmic entity, an alien, a demon, a planetary "shadow" (""dweller"), or what?

2. Is V'ger an angel, a thoughtform, an entity, or what?

(If these two terms can be fitted into (more or less) Thelemic, or Jungian, or some framework with which we are familiar, then the revelation will proceed more smoothly)

3. Since Xon said he would take these matters to Starseed, I suspect he might boycott this thread. So I will also post this, my list, on Starseed as well. If we continue here on vger by ourselves, we open ourselves to accusations of "talking behind peoples' backs" (a misdemeanor).

Later:
I cannot find the Starseed thread. I will be patient
and wait
'til it comes around again.

Will it be 6,000 years?

this one?

Yes, thank you. It had disappeared into ancient history on the RECENT POSTS list, and I have not mastered the "SEARCH" function. I mean, I do extensive searches all the the time ("Be in the Borg but not Of it"), but the LAShTAL retriever never reads my mind. I put in "starseed" and it offered me Russian Brides choices I could not correlate with my preferred, desired, yes willed, starseed.

Success is thy proof; It obviously was not "Willed." So, we all can see, preferences and desires don't get the job done. But they do call in an angel who delivers the magical link, to which I have already posted, so maybe the Universal Will wanted it that way. Do what thou preferest shall be the whole of the Law?

Pardon me. I was simply exercising circular logic, a carryover from a parallel thread, to explain how the job got done with your kind assistance.

Now that's real Magick!

@shiva  glad I could be of assistance - and it enabled me to venture out of the vortex of my intro thread and post somewhere else!

And 'grounded' (if that is an apt term? apologies for my clumsiness if not) magick is my only conscious practice atm, but am realising through my brief reads here (and your words I believe) that my mostly daily meditation (daily since start of the year) and yoga (3-5x most weeks) for the last five (excepting the pandemic - I need specific conditions to practice, which are not possible at home atm), have put me in good stead for exploring further so I am grateful for that knowledge.

Sadly, it appears that our Canadian Comrade has deleted his account in a fit of pique. I still would like to hear @kidneyhawk's take on what "V'ger" is.

Yes but great Hierophants are always misunderstood by the narrow-minded.   They are even laughed at initially.

Y'know, it's not at all unlikely that getting disciplined here, and being "forced" to delete his account, will trigger the total breakdown that has obviously been coming for a while.

I am wondering if we may soon be seeing headlines like

VANCOUVER MAN ARRESTED IN SERIES OF BIZARRE INCIDENTS

Reuters- A mostly nude middle-aged man, screaming incoherently while waving a sword and a decomposing bird corpse, and wearing what appeared to be the headdress from a children's "Indian" Halloween costume, was finally apprehended late Monday night, in a joint operation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Vancouver local police, as well as police called in from several neighboring cities ...

May i just take the opportunity to use this idle thread to say i love the nom de forum of new lurker (?never noticed them before anyway) @grouchotrout, who i imagine to be Kilgore's funnier brother, or perhaps sister, since that mustache was greasepaint after all, and we are in gender-fluid times.

Welcome! Post! (unless you are A Certain Person's new sock-puppet account, of course, but this seems unlikely since That Person had zero sense of humor, and had never actually read a book not found in the "New Age" section)

venture out of the vortex of my intro thread

Anybody in their right mind would have ducked down and zipped away quoting, "I was fearful for my life." Your intro thread became the battleground of Armageddon - Seal 2.

Well, "normal" in the sense that those who make grandiose claims can expect to be questioned about them. But most of the time no one is doing that.

We know what the right answers sound like, and do not sound like; Shiva also has access to the extensive libraries of the Akashic Record. We evaluate those claims. This is known as "tyling the lodge".

How folks then respond determines how their time here will go. If they turn out to have a sense of humor, and to be reasonable intelligent, they are accepted. If not, we amuse ourselves at their expense, like a cat waiting outside a mouse-hole. We currently have a reincarnation of AC who emerged from "the treatment" smiling, and is thus now just another "one of us".

An appreciation for, and ability to generate, 1) dry/ironic/black humor, and 2) bad puns, is probably the most useful quality an aspirant to lashtal could possess.

Most of the time, we are just a bunch of boring old farts discussing Crowley and related topics. Lunatics, Tentacle Cultists, Scarlet Women, and New Beasts tend to emerge most numerously in the spring; it has been a very long spring this year, in many ways.

Think I'm going to like the 'boring' here too.

I was wondering if that was 'normal' or not.

LAShTAL is famous for it's brawls. They are similar to when lone samurai walked from Temple to Temple, challenging the samurai clustered there to combat with oak swords. Usually nobody dies, but in the movies, people get mad or shifty and real swords come out.

They come here from time to time. LAShTAL is like the Shotokan Karate HQ in Tokyo. A sign on the door says, "All Challenges Accepted." I was told "people go in there all the time ... and they get the crap kicked out of them." LAShTAL has no such sign, but challenges often come. Most posters duck aside and a few knights move into that square on the chessboard.

The Challegers always display certain characteristics in various cominations (ego, superiority, secret knowledge, condescension, intimations of a high grade, etc) and are usually contained within a few days.

The eruption on your intro thread was one of the most bizarre battles fought in recorded history. It built up for about one year. For some reason (the historians can look for it by searching the entire thread), it rose into prominence and full battleground-alert on your intro thread. It had little or nothing to do with you, it was just a drive-by invasion by contending forces.

As you can easily determine (by reading several threads) that such battles are not usually raging all the time. But the End of the World, the Comet, the Coronal Plague, all in the past few months, the Alarm Bell of the Schumann Resonances, seem to have activated the Hero syndrome in several vehicles.

The Moderator is painstakingly patient. He allows all kinds of horror to rise up out of the Pit. At some point he moveth to removeth the distasteful diabolism, first by Warning. Next comes the Axe Behind the Steel Door to the Vault: Thread Lockage. It happens a lot. Maybe one a month ... or so.

Anyway, you survived your innocent part in this dramatic initiation. Your thread has been locked, so you can't go back to innocent status. You have seen the demon and it doesn't work. So there's only  future new paths threads ahead. Let us all begin our travels with the sun. [I give the penal sign of the Sun cooking my brain if I think too Much].

Posted by: @ignant666

This is known as "tyling the lodge".

Ignant is waxing metaphorical. LAShTAL is neither a "Teaching" site nor an "Initiatory" site. That is the Official Part Line (which also includes "Not an Occult Site").

However, those who have eyes to see and a relatively-cleared-out brain to interpret readings and postings, soon find a subtle magic working its way around. The most amazing meltdown disorders and astral plane manifestations can certainly occur.

"Tyling the Lodge" is a secret Freemason term, that everybody knows, which equates to "Banishing." It also includes the identification of Liars (either to themselves or to us) and the subsequent calling out of "fake news," "ignorance," "despotism," and "data errors."

The LAShTAL Game is played on many planes.

Posted by: @ignant666

How folks then respond determines how their time here will go.

This may be considered a Universal Principle. It should be printed and posted on the (some) Door (instead of "All Challenges Accepted.").

Posted by: @ignant666

it has been a very long spring this year, in many ways.

I would like to add the sideshow attraction of Puzzle-solving (codes, ciphers cryptic crying-out). To enjoy those threads, you have to be a reasonably good Qabalist (in the Allen Bennett-Frater Perdurabo School of ABC's). Almost all recent new entries into this Arena seem to have invented their own Qabalah, or modified/twisted the basic ABC's, so if you go to those threads you may lose your mind forever ... unless your own working QBL is working just fine for you ... in which case you will allow for such magnificences or atrocities with a smile on your brain.

Why wouldn't it be 'tiling' instead of 'tyling'?

What is tyling?

Say, I noticed something about the "Time Out" thingy. I started a post. It was one of those long ones. I walked away to accomplish my Will in some other place, then came back, finished it, and hit "Add Reply."

The first thing I noticed was an error.

The second thing I noticed was the "Edit" button was not there.

The third and final degree of thing I noticed was that the post was "dated/timed" (the hour and minute) when I first started the post ... about 40 minutes earlier.

The fourth degree involves my deduction that the "Timer Out" for "Edit" might be linked to when you start your post. If true, and you are long-winded, or beset by demons, you won't even have an "Edit" option available.

Like yourself, I assume no liability in this matter because I have not "test-run" my theory to ensure its veracity (truth).

I would still love to learn from @kidneyhawk what "V'ger" is/was from his perspective, and if there is any shred of truth to our departed Comrade's claim that 5 lashtal participants, including Kyle, created this egregore in 2007 and somehow it went to visit Vancouver.

"[A] forum befitting of the Prophet" would presumably be full of scurrilous personal attacks, long-simmering grudges, incredibly digressive rambling, pretentious spiritual claims, etc., etc., etc.

Oh wait, no, that would be "a forum befitting of the Demon Crowley", and would be more or less what lashtal is. But yes, we can always try to do better, and uplift the tone of this place.

I sort of assumed that the sooner this thread disappears off the list the better so you don't have to be reminded of xon, but if you think this is the best place for kidneyhawk to post the relevant info and if you don't mind being reminded of xon in future, then no need to thread-lock.

I don't mind being reminded of our Departed Canadian Comrade even one little bit; i miss him. Probably many folks find it disconcerting to have rage, hatred, curses, and constant personal attacks directed against them. I am not among those people.

Bear in mind that i am a survivor of the Groves Of Academe, where folks are much much nastier, much cleverer in their nastiness, due to being smarter than the somewhat dim Xon, and where their nastiness affects things like one's ability to continue to sleep indoors and feed one's family. Fighting with Comrade Registered As Such was like a walk in the woods compared to going to a faculty meeting, or getting back grant proposal reviews, or peer reviews on an article.

And i remain deeply curious as to "V'ger", and mildly curious as to "Grues".

yes, we can always try to do better, and uplift the tone of this place.

This would require a new thread(s), relating to higher concepts (or none), preferably elevated above Hod ... or ... an intelligent driver-by has a legitimate question or comment that is unenbedded with personal agendae.

I would be open to either of these. Now, in the meantime (like waiting in the Doctor's office with your mask on), the threads tend to turn to silliness and joviality, without guns blasting rods or stilettos magical daggers being drawn.

These calls for thread locking are the reflections of riots occurring in the outer world (for various reasons), wherein individuals attempt to influence the administration of the Establishment.

Here are two factors supporting my thesis (obviously for my 7=4 which is a really tricky level because one is supposed to know what they are talking or typing about) ...

1. It is unusual for posters to request a thread-lock just because they are bored.

2. Any and all threads go dead when people stop posting anything. This is the natural way of all living things.

3. The Moderator holds the key for locking/unlocking. Pray to Him, or send him a formal message, if threads really need attention.

That's my thesis, and it's really simple. Who will mail my 7=4 diploma, and when will I get it?

Posted by: @ignant666

going to a faculty meeting

My schools weren't in the grant business, but the overall tension in the room was probably similar to yours. In most cases, people were focused on their own, personal agenda. Since things can happen at faculty meetings that result in CHANGE to the workplace reality, it is similar to voting or combat to the submission or death.

"V'ger"

The exoteric version is "Voyager," a satellite who got lost, and when found it's name had been blasted away to show only V ... ger, from Star trek.

It is fascination to learn thar some people are capable of building an entire magical paradigm (or Super-ego) based on video games and sci-fi. In Thelemic terms, I never heard or saw anything relating to an Angel or its equivalent. Maybe V'ger was/is the Angel?

And in the meantime had developed self-awareness thereby becoming an active form of AI with its own agenda.  But is this where the comparison with the "esoteric" version ends, though?

The authors you mention? No, not like them. More like copying entities from other audio-visual paradigms and arranging them on a TREE OF life in such a way as to make one a 7=4.

PLEASE SEND THE tracking # for my diploma. i'll need it soon because I'm going to marry [somebody-thing] soon after I complete my Thesis that I said might not get unless somebody does some unspecified thing (work) to get it done.

don’t know what this thread is about but

I think it's about Chaos Magick i.e people in the 80s thought they would get big ideas and break away from Crowley's A'A' curriculum and instead go overboard on Austin Spare sigils as a replacement.  Whetehr you think that this reflects the changing culture which was becoming more A.D.D. particularly through the accelerated use of info-technology is for you to decide.  Grab-bag culture?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  It was done though, under the auspices of stripping away that which was no longer useful and getting to the bear minimum basics "of magick" etc etc.  Funny that as that's exactly what Crowley did at the time.   Genesis Orridge was a great example of all this philosophy... you may think that that is significant if you consider his (ahem) contributions to music and art etc.

Nevertheless, continuing in this vein of so called re-evaluation, the notion of traditional magical invocation and evocation was attacked.  How?  Well, we can make our own pantheon and deities because after all that's what the Greeks etc did, right?  I've heard of Chaos Magick types encouraging magic-students to invoke e.g. Spider Man or The Hulk or why not make up your own "egregore (read : thing that we made up that we can then invoke or evoke)?

This is, as far as I can assess, what Nutbar (Xon)  was on about  when discussing the "magical properties" of  "Grue" or "Vger" etc.   Now I am not saying that such practices attracts nutbars who have a flimsy grasp of reality, no.

It will be interesting to hear about the ”magical properties" of "Grue" or "Vger”,

Thanks for your concise assessment of what this thread is about.
It will be interesting to hear about the ”magical properties" of "Grue" or "Vger”,
and how it served as an enzyme.

.,....err, well, I don't know if I can, err,  agree with that.   'Enzyme'?  Sorry I missed the 'enzyme' bit.  Do you know what sigil magic is?

Possibly your best post ever, david.

i think you are dead-on as to where Our Late Canadian Dead-Crow-Fondling Comrade got the idea of assembling an occult pantheon seemingly all drawn from:

  • the lyrics of '80s-'90s synth pop with female vocals,
  • '80s-'90s gamer culture, especially game monsters substituted for, eg, Goetic demons
  • '80s-'90s "sci-fi" films (anyone into science fiction knows that it is "SF", and that calling it "Sci Fi" is a marker of newbs/morons who are not really into SF),
  • 80s-'90s anime,
  • "vewy scawy" horror films of the... (wait for it) 80s-'90s, etc.

And of course, passing comets, dead birds, and his "First Nations"/Indian heritage (that he, a massive New Ager, never ever even once even alluded to, let alone mentioned, in any context whatever, in 13+ years posting here, until i called him on his swastika avatar).

" Do you know what sigil magic is? "

Similar to Lissajous figures or those of Chladni, a configuration, a trace, a signature of a potency can be presented to the limited awareness of the practitioner. Extended from beyond the present conditioned experience of the candidate, it is a gate way that opens to the abode of a Daemon in which the candidate can enter or in which the presence can come in and ride the candidate.

Hoist your sails, find a strong current and and plunge into the open sea.

let go of your limited concept of knowing. Become a beginner. Dare !

“V'Gers” is not a Word or Name I have ever used or worked with. However, Xon's reference is clear enough to me as he is using an abbreviated spelling of a Name attributed to the entity depicted in the artwork of mine he had linked to in some other thread.

I will confirm that I was involved with several other individuals (albeit from a distance) in what might be called a “magical collective” and the activities of this group became focused on this entity. The other people involved were also Lashtalians at one time. They all left the site for various reasons. I am the cheese who stands alone.

Now all of this was some time ago. It is not an investigation I have any great interest in at present although a dramatic tale could be drummed up around events.

I will offer this:

The collective operated as a secretive group. The fate of most such groups seems to be leakage, expose and so on. And thus (and we might witness here) one person involved just couldn't help but share with their friend “insider information” about some neato happenings they were involved with.

The artwork I did was intended to be privately distributed ONLY to members of the group as a type of focus point for contact with this entity. It was never intended to be publicly shared.

I seem to have a vague recollection of the “leaker” in question speaking about a friend and something called a “Grue.” I know nothing beyond the fact that this person thought their friend and the Grue were impressive.

Re: Xon's story about people “creating an egregore” and then “losing control of it,” I think we need to bear in mind that X heard a story from Y but Y received all of their information second hand. I single handedly (no pun intended) scribed all of the mediumistic material from this time. This was then related to Y who was not there. So, Xon's understanding is actually third hand.

No one “lost control of an egregore.” No one HAD control to begin with...nor do I, in retrospect, view the entity in this context. Nor do I feel that anyone involved (including myself) had the correct Name.

As I mentioned, the others involved have all left this site. I can recall the circumstances under which each individual departed or was shown to the door. One of these people (and not the leaker) continues to promote the “Cult of V” etc as Head of the Cultus. My understanding of things differs considerably from theirs and I have no involvement at all with their pursuits in this direction.

Thank you so much, and amazed that there is that much semblance of truth in his ravings.

The truth seems to be even stranger than the fiction, insofar as it is possible to determine the difference between the two in this case, and has apparently affected the mental stability of some of those closely acquainted with it.

What context do you view this entity from your artwork in Kyle, might I ask?

My personal perspective on things here has certainly changed over the years. There WAS a lot of talk of this entity being an “egregore” at the time. I think it was an idea that was especially intriguing to one of the folks involved and seemed to make sense because you had a group of people pouring energy into an idea or image, “feeding it,” as it it were. But the entity appeared via what we could call “seance” prior to any identification as such.

This all evokes the question of what the nature of various entities, in general, might be. For example, we have the idea floating about that “Gods” were more powerful in the past when they could draw from the energy pools of now dwindling believers (wasn't this the premise of Gaiman's American Gods? I never read the book and couldn't make it past the first episode. But this seemed to be the gist. There seemed to be a little bit of this in Sandman, also....). DO “Gods” need us-or might they exist independently? Can magicians create “servitors?” I've done work in a “golem” context where we might distinguish between something we “create” and something we try to reach that is already “out there.”

In my estimate, this composite figure emerges as a type of Stellar-Ophidian archetype or Cosmic Baphometis. I will add that my carved image was designed based on the mediumistic communication but the medium would disavow my representation. However, by the time I am working on an image, it has become my own turn to interface with the powers in question.

I'll add that the image of an Owl with serpentine body was not a “unique revelation.” Entirely outside of the small group's contact with the image, it was independently conceived of and directed to be the central image for the Lamen of the Typhonian Order.

Yes, this "chaos magic" assessment seems probable.

Yeah Kidneyhawk has since highlighted that this was something that Chaos Magicians get involved with i.e the big idea that they can create an entity as oppose to contacting one that already seems to exist e.g. AC and Amalantrah or Lam or Thoth.   I dunno does this not smack of lack of humility y'know let's create our own God or Demon?   It would appeal to a case like Xon, the sort of self-declared "bored Aristocrat"  who (was very likely not) a member of an Indian tribe, was embroiled in his own illusory mighty achievements and who in his extraordinary magical bravery bragged that he had loosed some dangerous Demon into the world (and y'all better beware).   I mean although Peter Carroll advises long hours of dharana and motionlessness Chaos Magick seems to appeal to those who can't be arsed doing anything like that.

" Do you know what sigil magic is? "

Tiger it seems you never checked out chaos magick or sigil magick.  The main practice is to write out a sentence of desire e.g. you would write "I HAVE (insert the word representing fulfilment of that desire)".  The next step is to cross out any letters that repeat so you will have an intelligible jumble of words.  From this you can either jumble up the letters in your own glyph-design that doesn't remind you of the original desire or derive a meaningless mantra from the same letters.

You then do a rite where there is some sort of big climax (sexual or whatever), this is the time when the glyph is released (into the magical ether) or the mantra is shouted.

Once you master all this the next step is "egregore" creation where you talk to and  command the sigil-glyph as if it is an autonomous  Demon you created i..e it becomes your 'servitor'.  This is what wack-star was on about when he spoke of the Grue or V'Ger.

There are now hundreds of dehydrated undereducated X-box addicted fans of bad computer music (adolescents) out there on youtube who will teach you about the sigil-launching aspect at least. Now I know that AC advised students to 'of thine own ingenium devise your own' magical techniques but as I said we now more and more live in a grab-bag A.D.D. culture where that point gets  missed.

ah
well perhaps
the grab-bag A.D.D. wack-star culture is in for something beyond its conditioned notion;
and an intermediary of upheaval, of those stuck in unprogressive modes; might present itself.

But truly i don’t know their experience; i could look at their schedule to see whats down their road but there are always possibilities of unforeseen circumstance.

Perhaps the Grue or V'Ger will lead xon to realize the spirit of a dead bird does not need him, and that he is better off getting out of the way, or some other change in him may occur; who am i to say ?

External "reality" changes. This causes concern among those who want a stable, secure world to live in. Ha. Fat chance. Not 'til Hell freezes (or the fire goes out).

"possibilities of unforeseen circumstance" should possibly be re-written as "probabilities," or more likely, "certainties."

You are the Tiger, and you are clever at citing possibilities and alternatives, yet smart enough to non-utter the words of prediction.

One thing I'm not clear about though is why this particular image would have assumed such importance as to have become "the central image for the Lamen of the Typhonian Order"?  I would have thought that, given its prominence, one of Lam might have been chosen for its Lamen instead - or does any sort of (hidden) parallel or connection between the two exist that I'm not aware of?

Jamie,

I think the Face and Form of LAM would make for a fine LAM-en and, in fact, many artists have utilized it in this context (see, for example, the paper-cuts and design work of Hagen Von Tulien which treat of many “Nightside” themes-or my own “Nu Lam Stele”). There are numerous archetypes, images and “figures of the night” which would all serve well as expressions of the Typhonian Gnosis (or “Stages along the Way” thereunto-until one, at last, “hast become The Way”). The design which developed and emerged as the “Official Emblem” contains, in my opinion, a “complete teaching” and, as such, is worthy to signify the Sovereign Sanctuary of the Order.

Within my personal understanding and interpretation, The Owl and Serpent signify the Stellar and Cthonic (also Al 2:26). The Owl takes night-flight when the face of the earth points away from the Sun and into the Company of Heaven (Body of Nu). First we understand out relationship to our True Will and then our True Will understands its relationship to All Will (or what we might call “Cosmic Will”).

All potential (depicted as the Egg-which IS a link to LAM) exists between Nu and Had (Owl and Serpent). Heaven and Earth, the Transcendental and the Immanent (glyphed in the Lamen by the Neither/Neither Symbol and the Mark of the Beast) are, in fact, One Thing and No-Thing.

So we can see that this composite entity, along with its attendant symbolism, expresses an integrating-and, ultimately, non-dualistic-state of consciousness.

There is, of course, much more to this symbol and my perspective cannot be regarded as authoritative or definitive.

Again, to be clear: the image identified as V- did not inform the manifestation of the Typhonian Lamen, which emerged independently from a wholly distinct source (although, strangely, I would be tasked with illustrating both of them).

@hadgigegenraum and in a week I will be able to do so (see the stars move into the sun), for a couple of weeks at least...and leave the distraction of connection to outside life (silent meditation retreat for 10 days).

@shiva Thanks for the history lesson (from the 27th July - haven't got used to the quoting yet) on the 'Lashing Lore of LAShTAL', it was quite the introduction indeed, and deftly handled imo.  Figured was nowt to do with me - but I do have a role as a (unwitting) catalyst generally (it used to frustrate me, but now I accept it and the gifts it brings - when I don't (my) wilfully mix things up), so another synchronous occurrence.

"So there's only future new paths threads ahead. Let us all begin our travels with the sun"
- Yes indeed.

"However, those who have eyes to see and a relatively-cleared-out brain to interpret readings and postings, soon find a subtle magic working its way around. The most amazing meltdown disorders and astral plane manifestations can certainly occur."
- This site reminds me of an old advert for a beer in the UK, in that it 'refreshes parts other sites cannot reach'

"It also includes the identification of Liars (either to themselves or to us) and the subsequent calling out of "fake news," "ignorance," "despotism," and "data errors."
-Great!

And thank you for the tip on the 'Fairytale Tarot', the colours are truly beautiful and delighted to see it is a larger size pack.

Apols for replying so late, have been a bit 'distracted', but a multitude of 'grus' (from a synchronistic and very earthly perspective) have kept reminding me to come back (but am not the most prolific of posters anyway).
