LAShTAL is like the Shotokan Karate HQ in Tokyo. A sign on the door says, "All Challenges Accepted." I was told "people go in there all the time ... and they get the crap kicked out of them." LAShTAL has no such sign, but challenges often come. Most posters duck aside and a few knights move into that square on the chessboard.

Is there a chessboard set up in the dojo HQ? i.e., is this a mixing up of the planes games?

Posted by: @shiva

The LAShTAL Game is played on many planes.

And on many threads boards...

Yes, there is a definite chessboard. The floor is flat, there is no mat, the floor is made of wood (ideally). The Rokukan Senior Citizen Style of Yang-family Tai Chi has six (roku) "squares" or "stones" (kan) that are seen only in the practitioner's inner vision. Sometimes I put down six pieces of letter-sized paper on the wood floor - which is really linoleum tile - and I (or a student) will step successively onto the papers/stones/squares in order to dispatch or discourages multile assailants.

In the Bagua style, there are eight (ba) directions (gua). The practitioner steps into each direction (square) and pretends to defend against multiple assailants.

No, there has been no mixing of any plains or games, except perhaps for the confusion in the mind-planes of some one reader or another.

Walking the square

Yes, very much to the point of illustrating my point.

Now, forget the squares for a bit, and the trolls too, because this guy does the squares elsewhere. Here, he is simply presented in a very short video in order to answer the question, "Who do we know that is 118 and can do anything like this?"

* a duck waddles into an old thread and gives it a bump with his beak *

@kidneyhawk

Thanks for providing the info about the "entity", its all a bit of a mystery to me and I understand you can't give all the details but I hope I'm not too annoying by asking a few more questions.

Posted by: @kidneyhawk

the entity depicted in the artwork of mine he had linked to in some other thread

I've been going over these threads to try and understand this stuff a bit more. It seems the artwork is now gone, so mal/xon must have deleted it before he left. I find I still can get quite a clear view of it just by imagining it.

Posted by: @kidneyhawk

what might be called a “magical collective” and the activities of this group became focused on this entity

My main question as someone who knows very little about these things is what is the purpose of contacting an entity like this? Does it communicate something, is it able to do tasks in some way?

Posted by: @kidneyhawk

No one “lost control of an egregore.” No one HAD control to begin with...

Does this imply it "has a mind of its own" and could go and do things you'd rather it didn't?

What do you consider to be the fate of this entity? Now that the group has disbanded has it disappeared (or gone back to where it came from)?

Thanks,

Duck

its all a bit of a mystery to me

That's because it is all made up and you can't penetrate the mystery until you've been initiated ... which means somebody gives you the correspondence between plain Shakespearean English, flat with no discernible accent(s) and Computer Game Terminology superimposed over asura-type entity-figures-constructs.

You task is to either ...

(a) Join the Order, then reveal the secret(s),

or

(b) Destroy the Order.

These may be the same thing. You have Perdurabo's account of how this is done, and how you can do it.

But not until this entire Stele/Stela of Revealing is settled. Then you can go on to reveal

so mal/xon must have deleted it before he left.

I am not familiar with how anyone can delete anything after the Time-Borg has clocked out. There was a transition to new softness-ware right about the time said long-term member with two names and multiple changing Avatars clocked himself out. He may have petitioned the Ascended Web-Masters of Arcania to destroy his posted works.

Yes. I told you it was all made-up.

If you post images to an image hosting site they disappear from the forum if you delete them at the said site, which is what he must have done.

Most certainly not!

It seems the artwork is now gone, so mal/xon must have deleted it before he left. I find I still can get quite a clear view of it just by imagining it.

Perhaps Mal/Xon read some of my words expressing displeasure over how and what information was shared with him and removed the image. However, I had no problem with Mal/Xon nor his questions. Receiving information is different from dispensing it. I would say his source was questionable. Our assessment of information will only be as good as the information itself.

My main question as someone who knows very little about these things is what is the purpose of contacting an entity like this? Does it communicate something, is it able to do tasks in some way?

The idea of an entity which can run about and do tasks comes under the heading of “Servitor.”

To a degree, Servitors are like Magical Machines....they exist as labor saving devices. That is until Roy decides its time to meet with Tyrell.

But we may refer to Crowley here who indicated that our advancement as a species was dependent upon contacting a certain type of entity not reliant upon the conditions which we associate with the arising of human consciousness as a “material” event.

I think a worthwhile question is WHY did Crowley indicate this?

Does this imply it "has a mind of its own" and could go and do things you'd rather it didn't?

I would say that yes, the entity in question has a “mind of its own” and was misinterpreted as being an “egregore” unique to the small and temporal collective which engaged with it. One of the members was very focused on the group having an egregore, a type of "fed and fueled" entity existing within the synergy of the group. I believe this colored the (mis)understanding of what was actually encountered.

What do you consider to be the fate of this entity? Now that the group has disbanded has it disappeared (or gone back to where it came from)?

This entity remains active as a semi-sentient Typhonian Power Point, operating as a type of Nexus between the Trans-Stellar Beyond and our Terrestrial Sphere. We might think of it as a Living Archetype partaking of both human and trans-human experience.

I still feel that the important question is WHY did Aleister feel that we need to contact entities which exist beyond the conditions supposedly creating human consciousness. This was my own interest in the event(s) alluded to. I never saw the V- Entity as something to control and “send on errands.” Nor did I feel it was here to deliver Ouija style messages with “information.” I felt that it emerged to be engaged with for the sake of an transformative upgrade of consciousness through contact. This is not without danger as too quick an upgrade on an operating system which is not prepared for the influx can be catastrophic.

Hence, the A.A. Grade Work.

Was this disagreement over the nature of the entity something that led to the group disbanding?

I've been trying to make sense of some of mal/xon's esoteric posts such as this one where he said:

"One of my thoughts on the group that created V'ger was that they were controlled/manipulated by the entity that inhabited the egregore"

Do you know what he means by the entity "inhabiting an egregore", is how it was viewed by the member in the group?

An interesting phrase, did the group have any connection to the Typhonian Order? Was anyone in the T.O. aware of the entity, maybe Mr Grant himself?

Can you give any info on this "upgrade" and was it successful with the members of the group? My own speculation about this upgrade would be that it is coming into contact with "non-dual" consciousness, the entity being "non-dual" with the consciousness of the participants. Is that at all how you see it?

Not at all. It is my perspective in retrospect. The disbanding was due to the usual causes...

I have no idea what he means by this. I can only assume that his view was colored by how matters were presented to him-and how he processed the information. I do not agree with the above statement but what does my opinion matter? It's not like I was THERE. LOL!

I was and am a member of the Typhonian Order. Another person involved was a former member. Everyone had SOME interest in Grant. Grant had nothing to do with the endeavor. I suspect he may have taken an interest were he informed. He may also have had words of caution to share.

In a word: yes. I will add that my understanding of Non-Dualism is expressed in my writing NAVIGATING THE NODENSPHERE from the book Hoodoo Pilot (previously published in the periodical Zazen Sounds). One of the underlying themes is the Heart Sutra of Buddhism with its paradoxical equation of Void and Form. In the Typhonian Cultus, this is embodied in the Arrow of Nuit and the Lightning Flash of Nodens. The Entity (V-) belongs on the "Gohonzon" of this Dynamic.

Do you happen to know where this is written? I recall reading something along those lines but don't remember where or if it was by Crowley or Grant. As to why he believed this contact was necessary I can only speculate that these "entities" may be something that appear as separate to ourselves in normal "contracted" consciousness, but in truth they are actually a part of ourselves when consciousness is fully realized in its true non-dual form.

What do you make of his account? Did you have any contact with him? Here he wrote:

"When that first egregore exploded I felt like I was lit right up across the universe and I was so mad at those that built it right then. Screaming at the sky "How DARE they!?""

implying the entity "engaged" with him in some way. Just trying to make sense of how he could have know about the entity seeing as he wasn't a member of the group.

Posted by: @kidneyhawk

In a word: yes

I'm sure there's a lot more detail I'm missing but this at least is something I can relate to, and its interesting that you bring up the Gohonzon as my understanding of it is that it is an "object" that has the power to dissolve the seeming subject/object divide. To clarify, do you consider the "upgrade" to have been a success with members of the group? Do you believe it had any effect on those outside the group such as mal/xon claimed?

I hope I didn't come across as too "nosey" with those questions, I'm still interested to know what you make of his account. I'm pretty skeptical as to how he was aware of the entity, him not being involved in the group (though I'm still open to the idea ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). But assuming his account is true, do you know why the entity would seek him out?

I don't know if mal/xon still lurks here now that he's left but I'd at least be interested in reading more about his experiences. If anyone knows if he has a site/blog, let us know. Also if anyone is in contact with him, let us know how he is getting on (personally, I'd be a bit wary of talking to him myself, though).

I am still waiting for the curse where my head is possessed by "The Queen", a character from a century-old children's book (Ozma Of Oz; or more likely some movie) to kick in.

Or maybe it has been, and i haven't noticed, what with being possessed and all?

Does a possessed head know when the body attached to it has to piss? If the answer is "No", i am sure the Curse of Mal/Xon/[strings of emojis] has not yet taken effect. If science has not yet definitively answered this important question, you all must judge for yourselves, i suppose.

Also, weren't there supposed to be a whole bunch of "comet drops" this month/last month?

The most obnoxious person i have encountered here, and that includes "Prince Charming", aka Fra. Dr. Los PhD 8=3.

I was thinking about our Departed Canadian Water-Bottle Carrying Comrade, which for some reason caused me to think of the urban legend of a Viet-Nam War venereal disease known as "Saigon Rose", "Viet-Nam Rose"*, or the "Black Syphilis".

This was an imaginary, incurable, inevitably fatal, venereal disease, sometimes said to be spread deliberately to GIs by Viet-Cong hookers, that caused the head of one's penis to swell up enormously, turn black, and split into a thing resembling a flower with many petals. For some reason, there are no descriptions of the no-doubt-painful symptoms endured by the heroic woman-warriors of the Vietnamese People's Liberation Army B-Girl Squadrons, or why they didn't die from it.

I can find virtually no trace of this legend online, but i just thought you should know. In case you thought i was too hard on the kid in his time here, here my true thoughts are revealed. I was too kind; "vice of kings" and all.

* Ironically (?), both of these are common names of Viet-Nam-ese restaurants.

I think I made an egregore once.  At least I tried to and it seemed to have worked. A little goblin looking thing to sit on my CO's shoulder and convince him to let me home.

Wishful thinking?

From that trusted source of Information we know and love, Wikipedia:

An Egregore is defined as "an occult concept representing a distinct non-physical entity that arises from a collective group of people."

Oh that, I'd almost forgotten. 🙂 I had to browse the "Starseed Transmissions" thread to jog my memory. It seems the "curse" didn't involve "V'Ger" but yet another entity known as the "Grue", and you not "accepting the ordeal". I think this is the relevant quote:

As @ignant666 didn't accept the ordeal of the Grue, an ordeal appropriate for his grade, as my proof of attainment after he challenged my spiritual authority I claim his head and use it in the spell.

The head will be in possession of Queen Langwidere who, after making a Royal Announcement, will be happy to hear all pleas and petitions.

Sorry to bring it up, I guess I just find it morbidly fascinating. 😆

Thank you for reminding me that the takeover of my head by "the Queen" was to do with the "Grue", and not with "V'Ger". He discussed this several times; as i recall, i should be more or less speaking in tongues by now, the helpless pawn of the Queen.

I still have my son's copy of L. Frank Baum's Ozma Of Oz at hand, pulled for reference purposes (that being the "Oz" book with the multi-headed princess) during the "cursing" period. The Princess (who is not in fact a Queen) has many heads and changes heads all the time:

"Will you exchange heads with me?" demanded the Princess.

"NO INDEED!" cried Dorothy. [Baum, 1907, Ozma Of Oz]

I will give Mal/Xon/string of idiot emojis credit for being original: I have never before encountered anything like his pastiche of Thelema, RPG/video games, cheesy fantasy movies, memes, pastels, and synthpop, filtered through a sort of middle-school mall-girl aesthetic. And one of the nastiest personalities i have ever encountered in my life.

I am just curious- did anyone believe his claims to be a "registered as such" member of a Canadian Indian band?

When the entity that identifies with the persona ceases or breaks up to identify with multiple occult personalities identified as people, and there might witness an immense specter; from which the returned the identification arrangement might be slightly changed.

Be careful of the isolated mountains in Vermont.

Yes, i once had rather stern invisible giants instruct me in those "isolated mountains".

And then there is of course the cannibalism issue; though as i keep saying, it is now much less common than even 10 years ago. Credit where due.

See, this is the backward thinking that has for so long kept Vermont trapped in the past: "Just don't talk about it! Everybody eats a couple tourists every now and then, like at the holidays, nothin' wrong with it. If it was good enough for grandma and grandpa, it's good enough for me! I'm a Vermawner, i'll do what i wanner!"

This is, after all, a state where the state motto was changed from "Get off my propahty!" to "You ain't wearin' no awrange- folks cud think ya wuh a deah!" to the current "Freedom & Unity" in 1988.

well as long as mum's ok with the unspeakable acts and the tourists don't mind it; no need to keep silence. The trend might even increase tax revenue.

It is possible to have just 1/8 indigenous American in one's heritage, and be "registered," which is a big-deal, common term among the Indians. Instead of asking, "What kind of work do you do?" after exchanging introductory  pleasantries, Indians will ask, "Are you Registered?"

It's like having the Lost Word ("Yes")  in a secret society. If you say "No," the telepathy band will be squelched and youy will not be taken seriously.

Anyway, personally me, I could not "believe" anything he said that was not obviously true.

On the other hand, I could not call it a "lie," because it actually could be true.

No evidence/proof was presented to support either view.

Well, if correct, this is a US rule, though things may well be similar in Canada. So Great-grandma could have become a card-carrying "Red Indian"? She had an Indian great-grandmother, i believe a Lenape.

Lest anyone be offended, "Red Indian" was Great-grandma's preferred term for these peoples; i hope all will respect the right of these indigenes to choose their own nomenclature.

And Great-grandma is of course 1/8 of my ancestry, so if she had gotten her Registered Lenape card, does that mean i'd qualify for one?

In any case, Xon/Mal/imbecile emojis never mentioned his alleged Indian ancestry in more than a decade of dead-bird fondling etc posts, until i called him on his swastika avatar.

I initially upset him, a Canadian, by telling him there was more chance i would be the next US president than Marianne Williams would be. [I, an American, can barely remember the last name of the Prime Minister of Canada, and i used to sell his mom, um, things in small bags, back in the day).

I continue to believe this was nothing but bullshit, but was just curious if anyone took him seriously.

SHE doesn't have to get Registered. YOU have to go to the bureaucratic people and provide proof of at least 1/8 derivation.

If SHE had Registered (I don't know when Registration began), YOU would possibly have been Registered early on ... depending on whether this lineage was important to your parents, or something to push away in the closet.

This was all explained to me by a 1/2 Native North American. My wife, in her travels with all kinds of "Indians," explained the technicalities to me. This Registration thing has a social purpose (i.e. allowing access to Federally-funded, or tribe-funded benefits. On a day to day basis it is what we call discrimination - everywhere you go, somebody is associated with something that makes you inferior. "Registration" is a Super-ego syndrome

Ask Duck. I don't know if he took him seriously, but he showed genuine interest in his work, and Xon even treated Duck courteously, not like the phony phlegmatics we (you and I) were relegated unto.

Great-grandma has been dead since the mid-'70s, what with having been born in the 19th century and all. So she won't be applying. And of course i understand registration is about social welfare, and limiting the benefits that may go with membership to those who ought to get them. I do not identify as a Lenape, despite my 1/64 Lenape ancestral claim.

In the New England woods where near i grew up, in the town with a casino, everyone can tell which houses/trailers are Indians, and which aren't. The Indians all have hot tubs, and satellite dishes, and fancy trucks with lights. Out west, the money seems to go the other way- Indians have less than most others.

When i was hitchhiking from Shiva's house to Colorado last year, a Navajo dude who gave me a ride literally forced me to take a $20 bill from him, even after i told him i didn't need it and would spend it at the first dispensary over the Colorado border.

I do not identify as a Lenape, despite my 1/64 Lenape ancestral claim.

"Lenape is pronounced "Leh-NAH-pay" and it means "the people." Sometimes you will see this name spelled Lenápe or Lenapi instead. The tribe is also known as the Lenni Lenape ("true people") or the Delaware Indians (after the Delaware River, which runs through Lenni Lenape territory.)"

With only 1/64, you (like me) are an outsider, which is similar to an outhouse.. You are not, and cannot be "Registered." You will get no (Indian) Benefits to buy alcohol and drugs. If you use sacred Indian symbols, and claim a heritage that authorizes you to do so, you will be denounced as a Fakir. We will both have to look for hope and help in other spells.

It depends on the Casino. Not the building, but the Operator. Many tribes have been screwed by contracts similar to those you must be familiar with in the music industry: The owner (tribe) or performer (The Coasters, et al) get a pittance.

Other tribes with a built-in lawyer, or a tribe that consults a lawyer, can come to an equitable agreement where everyone benefits better than their Indian Benefits from the gov.

This is probably true because Ignant emailed me this same story right after it happened. He also reported amazingly low prices for legal grass at (what might be) that Colorado pharmacy.

Make of mal/xon's "obnoxious" personality what you will, that's not really the reason for bringing him up again. I'm interested in his account (the main gist of which can be read in this post) and how kidneyhawk's testimony involving V'ger backs up a lot of what he was saying (I would still like to know what kidneyhawk makes of xon's account, if he happens to be reading).

I took his word for being "indigenous" but that didn't seem all that important, it was his work that interested me as you have noticed. He had some "disagreement" with some of the long-term members here but seemed friendly to me personally and to other noobs/semi-noobs, and gave some feedback on my posts which I appreciated (such as the discussion on the "Rorschach" thread). Finding his posts is difficult now that his account is gone, though I remember a few places where he mentioned his work, e.g. this one on Qabalah. If I read him correctly, on the Starseed thread he mentions a "thesis" on his 7th degree work which would address some of this, it would be cool if it shows up some day, maybe not here but somewhere on the "Thelemic Internet".

He had some "disagreement" with some of the long-term members here

The "disagreement" was due to him coming out of obscurity in the Film and Funny threads to attack/discredit/downgrade/insult specific, older members, even mentioning their elderness as the reason for his insults. Perhaps you missed the Archetype here. In The Platinum Book calls it "High Noon."

A younger, hotshot gunslinger comes into town from Videogameland, where his foundational QBL was formulated, assisted by rapid-fire, assault up the hill, digital reinforcement. He insults the Sheriff, the Mayor, the Dancehall girl, or some other protagonist.

He spreads out over multiple threads, pecking, tracking, insulting. On and On. He uses the password many times (ON).

The ending of this Archetype is different for different people. In this case, he was not shot down dead by The Sheriff, but The Sheriff had to be called in to shut him down ... in a most courteous manner, by the Way. Just like in my neighborhood last night.

He performed one of the most brilliant fireworks displays of egomanic meltdown seen around here. The pattern was classical, there have been others, but the performance was extraordinary.

he mentions a "thesis" on his 7th degree work which would address some of this

First, he mentioned his difficult 7th degree work.

Second, I mentioned there was a Thesis requirement.

Third, Ignant addressed him directly about the Thesis, and he indicated there was one but it had not been wriiten, and its writing depended upon some "other" factors, because it wasn't in his game plan.

Fourth, Ignant pushed further, indicating his "next" level would be invalid without a Thesis, so that we would know WTF he was talking about.

Fifth, he relented and made some mention of an upcoming Thesis that was encumbered by so many etheric and psychological conditions that I cannot remember a single one.

Maybe we all got xon wrong and he was actually a misunderstood "savant" bringing new wisdom, I thought some of the posts where he mentions his work were intriguing anyway.

All the drama around his "thesis" isn't all that interesting, its the thesis itself that matters. In this post on a Sidereal Astrology thread he mentions some possible upcoming 7th degree work, that was from 2018 so he's had a couple of years to work on it. From his posts I got the impression that he takes this degree stuff seriously and so would have been aware of their requirements. I don't know if all this Hogwarts-esque degree stuff is for me personally, but its interesting to read about.

Here he mentions the subjects he would be writing about:

"new Cabalistic models based off modern understanding of cosmology and subjects that get brought that need some clarity. Rituals, Ceremonies, Sidereal Astrology...."

All very intriguing.

I think I made an egregore once.  At least I tried to and it seemed to have worked. A little goblin looking thing to sit on my CO's shoulder and convince him to let me home.

Wishful thinking?

Wishful thinking? = a type of thinking that actually grants wishes? 🤔

I pictured something like this for your goblin:

Salacious B Crumb

So you were let home afterwards? Sounds like a success. Can you go into more detail how conjured this "critter"?

Yes it worked.

I still feel guilty.

I don't recall how it looked.

IT was a stressful situation.

Duck-

I think you are barking up the wrong tree with Mal/Xon.

I was “there.” I was at “ground zero.”

An individual who was “part of the group” but not “there” related second hand info to Xon/Mal.

It is my expressed opinion that Xon's experience and assessment does not match my own. As I was “there,” and “Xon” was not, I think my perspective trumps his.

You seem very interested in all of this.

May I suggest that you cease your inquiries and go into it yourself?

Crowley wrote many “instructional manuals” for contacting “entities.”

Why not do your own work and “find out for yourself?”

I never had the hostile interactions with Xon that Shiva or Ignant did and I have no interest in this. I can only respond to your posts with the suggestion that you forge the links you seem so interested in.

When I read of Crowley's “Cairo Working” I was, as many must be, desirous of being a “fly on the wall.” This will, doubtless, be a topic of ever renewing interest on this site. I was an enthusiastic participant in Richard Cole's last thread here.

My own work is Spiritist in nature. You seem focused on something which is very “past-tense” to me. Xon, in fact, seemed to me the same. I wish him no ill-will. But this fixation is-in IMO-not on the Grand Goal of True Will, Personal or Universal (which must be wed along the Royal Road).

There is no substitute for Experience, Personally Experienced.

And there IS no “V'Gers.”

Whew, what a relief.

Had been keeping me up nights. Well, no.

I have been a lightning-rod for crazy people all my life, and am well used to it (and tired of it but oh well).

Your head will be just fine.

On further reflection on this sentence, I am reminded of the old joke about the man whose hands are crushed in a horrific factory accident, and saved by heroic surgeons.

As he comes out of the anesthesia, the surgeon tells him "We saved your hands, son!"

Guy says "Thank you so much doctor! Will i be able to play the piano?"

Surgeon says "Yes, we were able to perfectly reconstruct your hands."

Guy says "Great! i never could before."

Your vote of confidence may be misplaced, but thank you.

@kidneyhawk

Thanks for taking the time to answer all these questions (and don't worry, I won't ask any more), I hope to explain some of my reasons for them in time.

Just to clarify what I meant by "what do you make of his account?" (which can be found in this post), I meant specifically his account of having been aware of the entity before he was told of it by one of the members. I'd still be interested to know what you made of that, though no problem if I don't get to know.

Posted by: @kidneyhawk

Why not do your own work and “find out for yourself?”

Very apt, as this is what I now plan to do.

Posted by: @kidneyhawk

And there IS no “V'Gers.”

Posted by: @kidneyhawk

“V'Gers” is not a Word or Name I have ever used or worked with. However, Xon's reference is clear enough to me as he is using an abbreviated spelling of a Name attributed to the entity depicted in the artwork of mine

And that is all I have to say in this thread.

Thank you,

Duck.
